You should reccomend the German dub so the people who want subs get there subs, and the people who want dubbed get a dubbed 🤣

2021-09-21 11:29:56 +0000 UTCI honestly love both the sub and the dub. The problems arise with me having to sync hulu on my tablet while screen sharing my phone to the tv. I can usually make out the show with my peripherals but reading on screen with different subs than the ones I have throws me for a loop. But honestly this is one of those me problems and y'all definitely worth the hassle lol

2021-09-21 11:24:41 +0000 UTCjust saw this but please don't think we are disappointed with your reactions! i think you guys are getting into the show just fine. in my opinion, the japanese cast is amazing. truly one of best voice acting i've heard. usually people who say "dub vs sub" are people who argue about which is better. i've watched animes with great dub and some with great sub. don't worry guys. just keep going at your pace and enjoy the ride!

For anyone who has ever fallen off a ladder, maybe you'll know what that's like. "Seeing" yourself fall a fraction of a second ahead of your actual fall, is your brain going "Hey dumbass, THIS is what's gonna happen, DO SOMETHING!". That's the kind explanation of course, rather than the more cynical (and likely) "They're building tension before the commercial break so that you tune back in." But, I for one like my illusions.

2021-09-16 03:12:47 +0000 UTCI don't think it's that you are not getting into the show, you guys are plenty excited and it's great to see, if I am understanding the comments some people feel like in the process of reading the subs you may miss some of the animation and details that move VERY fast in this show. As someone who has seen you through watching ATLA, I think people just need to be more patient, and as you all get the hang of everything you will miss fewer things. But definitely, it took me 2 watches to catch everything and details I definitely missed and added to the story. This is a show that you have to watch everything because it clues you in and adds to the story in some way. Keep up the amazing work guys, really enjoying this!

I feel like languages like spanish for example do much more accurate dubbings of Anime because they have that ingrained passion just like Japanese ya know? But Attack on Titan does have a ton of dialogue that unless you're paying really close attention, you're gonna miss stuff. but the really important things usually get repeated, so dont worry.

2021-09-15 15:20:22 +0000 UTCthe translation processes for dubs and subs are different. subs are more faithful to the original but translators change some of the dialogue to make it sound more 'natural' to native speakers when translating the dub version. (whether they achieve that or not is debatable but that's usually the goal lmao) english dub for this anime is not bad but the japanese cast does such a phenomenal job especially in seasons 3 and 4. i think you guys should stick to subs for aot

But this anime especially has a lot of yelling and passionate speeches that feel kind of weird in English, in my opinion. When I watched it in Japanese I was really into it… in English I was just thinking wait was there always this much yelling? Lol. I think the only anime I can think of where the dub adds a lot to the experience is Death Note and maybe FMA: Brotherhood.

Or what are people who are suggesting the Dub talking about? No shade, but like I think we’re easing into the story just fine. There’s a GoT level amount of characters and I think we make some mistakes but, nothing too crazy. People keep saying this and I find it interesting and would l love to be illuminated.

2021-09-15 11:07:25 +0000 UTCAs someone who speaks Japanese and prefers subs: I think it’s perfectly fine for them to watch the English dub, especially if it helps them get into the show more. They seem to be new to anime. In the future, if they do more shows, I definitely hope they’ll do subs and experience the shows in their original language. But for now, the dub is fine IMO. I’d rather them just be digging the show. And yes, anime time 🤣 I loved all the comments about it!

2021-09-15 08:57:37 +0000 UTCEren goes through a lot of emotional growth over the series and his mentality/morality gets challenged and deconstructed a lot though, whereas Anakin I feel like he just kinda switches from annoying and overconfident to angry very sudden in the third movie, and then him believing such an odviously manipulative evil dude without question really makes him look like a dummie lol. And, no offense to Anakin's actor but Eren's VA puts in a lot more work to make him feel alive through all those emotions.

And yeah, as far as the set up, it took awhile for us to really nail down the format and get really comfortable with it, that said, we had a year+ to do so! Now it’s almost better as to the sound quality, though shooting in the same room would be simply easier to edit.

2021-09-15 04:57:26 +0000 UTClmao yes i agree: armin was already going down the throat of santa titan??? and then we get a backstory of eren and then suddenly one legged eren is in the mouth grabbing armin??? like if u don't think about it much it makes sense but if u sit there and be like \wtf just happened???\ u unravel all the magic of everything XD 18:39 a titan jumped up and ate eren's leg which caused him to beef it on the roof tops and then chaos ensued and now eren is dead in the belly of a titan missing an arm and a leg The real main character(s) were Armin and Mikasa all along o.o OH the one that just slurped that one guy down was called an abnormal because it didn't act like a normal titan since it literally jumped through the air to get to the scouts

2021-09-15 04:09:13 +0000 UTCIt's a masterful fake out, having the audience think Eren was the main character for 5 episodes, when really it's about how his insane drive leaves a mark on the people he left behind. Driving Armin and Mikasa to do amazing things in his memory as the real protagonists. It's sort of the overarching theme of the show; that while life is cruel and random, and takes people away from us suddenly, as long as we strive for their goals and act in their memory, they're never lost to us. RIP Eren, gone but never forgotten.

I don't know why they'd force that visual just to be like "Nahh Eren made it in time". The scene was already intense, there'd be no need to do that. It almost seemed like Armin getting swallowed was the original idea, then the director changed his mind but didn't want to re-draw any frames.
