2021-09-25 12:00:53 +0000 UTCThis whole show is pretty much just me having a crush on Asami and Lin because they're awesome. As far as no airbenders are concerned it sucks but I guess it's kind of like how Katara was the only water bender in the southern water tribe for 60 or so years. The only reason she possibly became one is through her grandmother's lineage who relocated to the southern tribe from the north. The whole world was more isolated back then, especially the air nomads who lean heavy into isolationism which is why they were easy to wipe out.

Which is the name of the country where Republic City is and is made up of the former Fire Nation colonies in the Earth Kingdom. I was also confused at first and though they were like the UN peacekeeping forces or NATO or somethin but nah, they're from the United Republic.

By the time the war ended, Firenation and earthkingdom people already had mixed families with half firenation and half earthkingdom children. So Aang and Zuko just decided to create a new country were people of all nations could live together. This is all from the comic "the promise"

2021-09-23 21:49:19 +0000 UTCi think the idea is that some airbenders did seek refugee in the earth kingdom, but were hunted down over the years and they stopped practicing airbending, so even if there were descendants besides aang, none of them had the ability to bend and the lineage was probably deluted a lot due to the persecusion of airbenders and stuff.

We'll also definitely be seeing Aang's other kids and get into a little bit of what went on with him and his family life. But yeah, this episode was nuts! And I legit cried the first time I watched this and Lin got her bending taken away but then immediately got chills seeing Iroh
