When an anime is made of a popular manga series they expect that their primary audience is actually the manga readers and keeping them invested in watching. So they want to show off in the opening some fan favorite parts from the manga. Not all of what you see in an opening will be in the show but if you dissect it closely you probably could get strong hints or spoilers. Love your reactions and commentary folks! Cheers.
