If anything it's more a miss on the creators for making a bolt of lightning literally striking a human being and transforming them into a crazy monstrous humanoid creature mean nothing. I liked the idea that it was the lightning. Very Orson Welles.

I always took the operation "lead her underground" as a preemptive measure regarding sunlight they touched on in an earlier episode, the lightning strike never occurred to me :O

Yeah but I noticed in some cases, where the subtitles being different would cause some confusion in the story later on. Funimation or Crunchyroll would be the best services to use.

I was so excited for this episode! Glad you guys liked it :) One of the first of many even bigger twists. This show does a good job of giving you just enough info and keeping you in the dark at the same time. Side note: I always took Annie not going in the tunnel as she would be stuck if she transformed in tunnels and trapped. Kinda like when they had Eren transform in the well when they were practicing with his abilities.

Lightning has no connection regarding the titan transformation. The purpose was to simply prevent Annie's transformation like trap her

lol i actually kinda like the edgy subtitles tho. and besides they are quite accurate, just with a bit more swears. i hope you do the whole series with edgy subtitles lol. it gives yalls coverage of Attack on Titan a unique flair.
