it's pretty good! And looks expensive as shit!
We're covering The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power S1E1 yall and we had a decent time with it!
The spectacle is there, the story expansive and the Elves are doing BBLs in this era of Middle Earth - as we call it BBElves.
This is a decent start for something that could be special and render the line between the cinema and TV just a little bit thinner!

Idk, note how we just keep talking about how good it looks and the epic effects and so on but, story? characters? dialogue? it doesnt really stand out in any of those fields, yet. House of the Dragon from episode 1 had you invested in the characters and had great lines and an intriguing plot. But I'll see where it goes

2022-09-04 17:45:25 +0000 UTCoh HotD is way more our shit, and this Ep is def dry, Ep 2 definitely picked things up in a big way. A lot of what I call "Legolas Lines" which is whispy, very broad platitudes spoken in a very soft and droll way. ALOT of stuff like that here but things get a lil more relatable and jumpy in Ep 2

I actually liked it a lot, I'm not really a big Tolkien nerd so I don't really care how faithful it is, I'm only really familiar with the movies and games. I'm still yet to be hooked but I'm really curious about where all the plot threads are all going.
