2023-12-17 20:52:09 +0000 UTCAbout the “four fangs” and “four white men” thing, I’m guessing it’s because apparently the number 4 is associated with death in Japanese culture, partly because both words are pronounced “shi”. It’s the sort of thing you start to see a lot in Japanese media when you look for it. Also, just an observation on my part, but in anime and stuff there are frequently the “cool group of numbered mini bosses” that must be faced. Like, they’re usually literally ranked and numbered by strength. I wonder if it’s a trope or archetype or something? I’ve heard the exact term “The Elite 4” in a few different things
