One book to show change I think was a real mistake is Theon’s story this season. George R.R. Martin is so good at the story concept that what you don’t actually witness first hand can be far worse than showing something terrible. That way the mind fills in the horror of what happened. Theon’s story is just too gratuitous with the violence this season IMO.
