We're back with another Vox Machina reaction!
And now they haven't been sucked into dimensional rift ala BarbieLand, they just had a video file gets corrupted and we got ourselves the return of TOON DRASE!
But we're for sure digging the hell out of this season so far and this one throws more than a few curve balls our way!
We get hella backstory on super young, and not yet participating in incest, Vex and Vax, and this is really affecting!
We should have seen it coming, cause this whole Vex death is a shocker! Cause this is DnD right? And anyone can go at any time, right? Sure. She's totally dead.
RIP Vex. Too bad we will never see you ever again.

I adore getting your perspectives! The discussion about Peter Jackson Vulcanizing Tolkien's elves was especially appreciated. If you ever feel like diving into a short-form D&D actual play, Escape from the Bloodkeep is a short series (6 or 8 episodes, each around 2 hours) Tolkien-style game from the perspective of Sauron's minions. Matthew Mercer, the DM of Critical Role, plays a ringwraith in it.

2023-07-22 17:03:32 +0000 UTCDnD and death can be really interesting depending on what DMs allow, what the party is capable of, and what a player wants to do. We've had the two youngest members of our party die and be revived in my home campaign, and it was nail biting both times. So yeah, Vex is currently not alive. She is an ex half elf. And it did happen in campaign, it was wild. Episode 44 of campaign one is considered a Big One for it.

Some times players leave the table, sometimes players make new characters, sometimes a player is resurrected and comes back as the big bad guy. Dnd is wild, you guys will just have to watch and see what happens. And I'm just giving examples of what's happened at my table when playing dnd.

2023-07-21 23:38:57 +0000 UTCYep, that girl big dead. 😢 Mechanically what happened is Vex, Percy, and Trinket had to make Dexterity Saving Throws or take damage. With this specific trap, if it reduced you to zero hit points, you died instantly. Percy succeeded, but Vex and Trinket failed. Trinket took the damage too but wasn't reduced to zero hit points. Vex took the damage and was reduced to zero HP and died instantly.
