We're back with some more GoT and this is most certainly one of the lowest moments of the show.
For Sansa.
For her storyline.
For television writ large.
This feels like and remains among the biggest missteps of the show's entire run and will be the first big wrinkle in their handling of Sansa's character going forward.
It makes for a fascinating dissection of the story beat as a whole afterward so definitely stick around for that!
Any time the Dorne plot is cooking just a lil bit better, you got problems.
Even though, I'll take 10 Dornish plotlines over that Winterfell bullshit any damn day!

2024-07-09 23:48:00 +0000 UTCi dont think this was when the show got bad. yes, rape is obviously horrible, but so is cutting babies heads off. this is a brutal show that doesnt sugar coat nothing. i though it was a moving scene. "if" Ramsey ever gets whats coming to him, this scene will make it all the more better. ;)

The westeros wedding planners should take notes And the scene in the books is with a girl they are passing off as Arya and it is way way way more disturbing. He makes Theon perform oral sex on her to prepare her before he has sex with her. He also proceeded to let his hounds fuck her as well

In fact, it's more impactful if we don't. It's just upsetting to watch is what it comes down to. I don't need a deflowering scene to know that Ramsy is a true and awful bastard. He was born that way. EDIT: Yes, I know the new HOTD had a CUT TO THE SEX dong scene. But I just noticed overall that shows have really stopped trying to do that.

Or the guys who killed Craster raping his daughters, we saw that raw and ugly why no whoah womenz being raytped but ooh poor SANSA all we do is hear her and Ramsey creep, JUST ANOTHER gross rayp no more horrid than any other imho.

I still think GRRM is suspect for how casually he dropped stuff like this throughout the first 3 or 4 books. This was waaaay over the top but Alfie Allen's acting was insanely effective. Like I can see even Reek starting to reach a breaking point.
