Velvet took her place among the circle, her eyes glinting . Each participant shared their own stories of resisting the urge to succumb to their darker natures. Some spoke of the thrill of the hunt, while others shared tales of lost loves and shattered lives.
In the midst of the confessions, Velvet's gaze found mine again. We exchanged a silent understanding that transcended words. Despite the challenges, this group offered a sanctuary for those who wished to find a balance between their supernatural instincts and a more human existence.
