Arcane S2x7-9 Full Reactions! // IWSIYGI

Hey hey Patrons!

We're back for the final time atleast with this corner of the League of Legends Universe and boy is this a rollercoaster!

One of the best/most touching episodes of the whole show proceded by one of the most frustrating and then an incredibly exciting and bittersweet (some would say, even unnessisarily cruel) ending.

Yeah yeah yeah, Powder coulda survived yada yada it's still is such a gut punch that we have to, even a few of the last story beats and their last moment together in this saga, be terrorized by one of Vi's best qualities and Jinx finally gets to off her self (albeit with a sense of sacrifice and purpose here as oppsed to straight nihilism).

We're thrilled by so many things, the Victor Jayce stuff wraps up powerfully and some new threads are teased for the next LoL!

Over all and amazing show and one of the best Video Game Adaptations ever, but seemingly unnecessarily hampered by trying to stuff 2 seasons worth of material into this 2nd season.

Still amazing and we will continue to reccomend it!

And also, just, how EFFIN' COOL WAS THIS!?!?

Follow this exclusive link to hang for all three episodes on one big file!

I love Vi but y'all aren't wrong, she has the weakest character arc in many ways. Even Heimerdinger actually learned something. Vi really doesn't; she is more damaged and unable to move forward that Jinx. Y'all definitely missed the Viktor thing but I think it was primarily because you didn't understand that he was fucked from the moment the hexcore was fused to him. There is no heel turn, he was always being manipulated by the hexcore. Multiple times across the season 2 they put up sign posts to how his seemingly benevolent actions are not entirely in his control and not good for those he converted. For me it was a little creepy from the moment he "healed" Huck in S2E2, but by the time we see him puppeting Salo at the end S2E5 that was a massive red flag. Then his talk with Singed in S2E6, another massive read flag on many levels. "Glorious Evolution" is way to borgy to be good for anyone. When this comes up I always like to point all the back to S1 E9 when Viktor tried to destroy the hexcore after it ate Sky. It literally punished him for even thinking harming it by taking away the "gifts" it had given him at that point. He saw how much power it had over him that he was about to kill himself until Jayce interrupts him. In that conversation he begs Jayce to destroy teh hexcore because he can't. That was before he died and the hexcore fused with him and resurrected him. If he couldn't resist it's influence before it was fused to him, there is little chance he would be able to after they are joined. The last shred of his humanity kept it in check but once Jayce blasted him he didn't have the power to resist it anymore. Singed used some of Vander's blood to keep him from dying but in doing that it was actually worse; that what provided his newfound clarity of purpose. It wasn't that Viktor a change of heart and saw how crappy humans are, he knew that growing up in Zaun, Viktor was not naive. It was that he no longer had enough power to override the nature of the hexcore.

Thoughts on the budget. OK these figures are based on 5min googling, so taking that with a pinch of salt, even so: The Last of Us - $10m/ep Arcane - $14m/ep House of the Dragon $20m/ep So Arcane is in the ballpark for a high-end live action show. Are those budgets too high? maybe. But I can see every penny of that $250m on the screen with Arcane. My hope is that animation more generally gets budgets similar to other "big" shows, even if there's a correction downwards across the board.
