Sooooo yes, it was concurrent with Rick and Morty. Alex Hirsch(The creator) and Justin Roiland were friends at the time so they threw little Easter eggs in eachother's shows. But as for the consistency of the show, all of those scenes they showed of Blendin during the end credits actually appeared in the show. If you go back to each of those episodes and look, Blendin is just there in the background.
