Act. 2 is massive blue balls on story beats but still really compelling because I dig what they give us. That scene with Vander and the girls hugging got me when I saw it the first time and still gets me on rewatch. As on the nose as the music is during that scene, it deepened the gutpunch of seeing them together. The way the lyrics are sort of pleading. The world has thoroughly fucked that family into the ground. It's kinda rad that Vander, Silco, and Felicia (Vi and Powder's mom) were like a triumvirate that built their revolution. I could watch a whole show, read a book or graphic novel just on that. It makes sense why in episode 1, in the first scene of the show we see Vander going absolutely ham on Enforcers on the bridge but as soon as he see the girls sitting by the crumpled forms of their parents, his friends, he scoops the girls up and walks away from it all. It also informs why he fell out Silco. They don't show it but I can see what happened; Vander went to Silco, told him the price of their revolution was too high and Silco was like, no, we have to go even harder because that is what Felcia told us to do. Vander lost it on him in his grief. Then Silco just laid in the cut and kept working his mission while Vander basically sold out to topside because he didn't want to see more dead children and parents. Just more layers of sad on an already sad story. This show owns my stupid brain and has a big chunk of heart.
