Random Updates #28 - Timed Attacks EX Cancelled~

First of all, unfortunately, I will be using text for this update! Not for any bad reason, it's just that I am always so bad at conveying organized information with lazy vlogs. I tried a couple recordings, but I couldn't get any coherent sentences out.  I should probably try and avoid doing these kinds of things at 5AM. ( >д<)


Anyway, let's get straight into things! It's been about 2 weeks since the last Random Updates, and as a result, I felt it was only fair I gave you guys another update. To start, I'll address the promised "Maker Poll". I ended up not posting it for a simple reason. As I knew I was going to be busy throughout this month, I figured it wouldn't be right to leave right after releasing a new poll. It would be better to release it once I'm ready to work on the next plugin. As a result, you can expect to see it sometime in the first week of June! ^^


Next is the title of this post. That's right, I have decided I will not be completing Timed Attacks EX. Now before you freak out, allow me to explain myself. Previously, I had three main plugins I needed to complete:

- Timed Attacks EX (from poll)
- Character Creator Colors (Patreon $300 goal)
- Unknown "Maker" Plugin (not voted on yet)

These first two are essentially going to be remakes of the two most popular plugins I ever made: Timed Attacks and Character Creator. Already, this was a huge workload I was anticipating, and not something I even thought I could complete. Throwing on another massive plugin with those two... it's simply become something outside of my ability.

Character Creator Colors is a Patreon goal, so it must happen no matter what, but Timed Attacks EX... it has a pretty good reason why it should be cancelled.

That reason was something I mentioned in the previous video: Timed Attack Maker! While I have been putting slow work into the Timed Attacks EX, I kept wanting to add more and more customization. It's gotten to the point where, if I ended up completing Timed Attacks EX, it would just end up being an inferior clone of what I plan for Timed Attack Maker. With that in mind, is there really any point in going through with it? With the Maker Polls, I can rename "Mini-Game Maker" to "Timed Attack Maker" and see how it fairs against the other contestants.

Without a doubt, I know some people will find this a little unfair. It "won" in the poll, so it should be made! This comes to another reason for why I felt it should be cancelled. I have plans to reduce the amount of winners in the normal plugin polls to one. This means Timed Attacks EX (which came in 2nd place) would not have been considered a winner had I created this rule earlier. As for why I've chosen to do this, I simply do not want to overload my work schedule again. (;^_^)
