How much do my models cost?

So, over at Hypnopics, someone was talking about Daz models. When I mentioned the thousands of dollars I spent on them to get everything in order for the entertainment I create for you, they said they did not think things were as much as I said. I told them, it's probably $400 to $500 per character. Then I went ahead and broke it down for them. I thought I would share it with my fans in general so that everyone can follow along with what I do. Mind you this is only one character (Absinthe) and only one of her forms (humans). Imagine what it can become since F:CoC will have 10 versions of each playable character! Yowza!
$12.00 - Holster and Gun
$13.95 - Her eyes
$184.95 - Base Model (w/interactive license)
$51.95 - Her Model (w/interactive license)
$25.95 - Knife/ammo on belt (w/interactive license)
$9.95 - Crossbow in hand
$71.95 - Boots and corset (w/interactive license)
$53.95 - Stake on belt (w/interactive license)
$79.95 - Jacket and pants (w/interactive license)
$51.95 - Utility belt (w/interactive license)
$72.95 - Leather on clothes (w/interactive license)
$51.95 - Blood Suit (her skin under clothes) (w/interactive license)
$70.97 - Cross on chest (w/interactive license)
$71.95 - Her hair (w/interactive license)
------------------------------------
$824.37 - TOTAL So, there you have it! I just wanted to share this with everyone, so you not only get an idea of the budget of my works, but to give insight to how I strive to give you the best I can find!
@Pangaian - Yes, I am still making three more novels, all of which will be FREE! And, I certainly can use the models for that without the interactive license. However, please note that even without it- look how many hundreds of dollars that one character cost me. Yet- my poor ol Patreon is still hovering around one-thousand. I simply thought it would be good to share some of this info.
@Robert- it's quite alright! I understand, and honestly, someday, sometime I want to do VR versions of my novels. But, in between today and then, I am just doing my best to give my patrons a return on their investments in me. And these are doozies of investments! Please, always give me feedback or ask questions, and thank you!

Sorry, I only hastily looked up one product at random (the hair) which had a license cost of 50 and just multiplied that by 11. I didn't make that clear enough :)
It's more about the nature of the interactivity than the engine, I would say - but it's your call, and your budget; I was only hoping to help. By pointing out the blindingly obvious, as it turns out :p

I was under the impression if you are working on a free game there is no need for the interactive license, of course, I have not read the legalese for the IL. Guess I should, huh? 😉

Strange, according to my math, if one removes the interactive licensing, the amount would be $494.37, not 274. Of course, you might have an account with Daz and are counting sales, but they come and go and I was showing the prices as is.
If one uses them as assets in a game as 3D models, and since my future Unity games could potentially do that, then the rights must be purchased. So, one day when an Anaxverse game releases that plays akin to something like an Elder Scroll Game, I will have all the rights to use the characters, clothes, hair, items, environments, and so forth.
And to clarify- the days of my novels is almost over. So, in those, yes, I would not have needed the extra rights, but F:CoC is a Unity game, a match three video game, and so after these last 3 novels are finished up, it's all Ren'py and Unity from then on! (And, alas, for non-patrons there shall not be nearly the amount of free releases, but still some!- however, the novels will always be free!)

Are you really sure you need an interactive license? I'm certainly no legal expert but to me it seems designed to cover 3d games and content where you can rotate models and/or make them move through user input. A sequence of images would not require that license because what the user is interacting with is your story, through the UI, by making choices; they are not ooh-ing and aah-ing at how fictional models jump about and hit each other in the face, or spending hours in a character generation screen :)
That would reduce your costs in this example to about 274, if it's 50 per piece.
