The end of Mettle, Metal, Meddled, and what is next.
Added 2023-09-03 17:21:19 +0000 UTCOver the last dozen or so chapters, I have begun to feel that MMM has reached a point where I have to make a choice. I can either end it, letting the story finish in a way that I believe is satisfying, though unfortunate, or mix the story up, move things around, and add in some fresh pizzazz to keep it going. Imagine how the show changed from season one to season two, and you have a decent approximation.
I have elected to go with the first choice. To complete the story within the next two months or so.
I could mix it up to keep it fresh, do things like cut and add characters, do an even more jarring time skip, split the team, or even magic in new enemies. But by its very nature, this would shift the story in a way I don't want to. I'm already writing the story I want, and changing it would only bring it further away from that.
So, what is next?
Well, I have been developing a story idea that I think is a lot of fun, something that I think people will really enjoy. I have a pre-release/alpha/beta chunk of chapters that I will be releasing in the next week or so, something to give people an idea of what to expect.
I know the end of a story is a bit of a weird time for patrons, but I think people will enjoy the concept, especially because the idea was specifically designed to let the Board Members be involved as much as possible.
So, as sad as it might be, Mettle, Metal Meddled will be coming to an end in the next two months or so and will be replaced by a new story, a preview of which will be coming sometime in the next week. I hope you stick around and see what's coming next!
