CH56 Part 2

Hello All,

Please see the last part of The Tartered Dragon.

As always, let me know what you think.

UPDATE:

So there is a bit of a mixed review on the ending which is not what you want to see as a writer, so, I've added the below poll to decide what ending to stick with.

I'm not so proud that I won't change things if it makes for a better story (like I did before). Ultimately, I write as much as for myself as I do for you.

Note as well - if the Gael's POV is the one chosen, then whilst I will reset the original planning for beyond the sequel, the general fate of Planetos will be unchanged.

UPDATE: so I will change the ending which should satisfy everyone. I will do so tomorrow as it won't take too long.

Do you want me to post a new post or update this one?

UPDATE: WELL I THINK THE NEW ENDING IS RATHER FUCKING BEAUTIFUL, DON'T YOU THINK?

Comments

Like the new ending quite a bit more.

Aenar's soul didn't enter the Astras plane Aegon created? Did it go to the other, crazy plane? What happened?

Is the next world confirmed HxH? I hope not as HxH is a world and story built around personal power and would kind of undermine the whole nation building/ tech uplift story of Tartered Dragon that has been built so far. I would much rather read about a continuation of Elamaerys nation building in a different setting. There is a ton of fiction that has a fantastical setting which is close to the tech and culture level of Elamaerys. Also I was kind of hoping you would continue the story at the start of the GOT timeline. It would be interesting and fun to read about the changes made by Elamaerys being a thing and how they intervene in the White Walker narrative.

That’s a good ending. It’ll be especially good to be a good surprise for people who read it on other platforms. That way it’s more of a surprise.

I just finished reading the changes you made to the ending and I think the changes are great. It’s still the ending you envisioned. The removal of the meeting between Aegon and Vaelor to what it’s now is done well. This way it still leaves it a mystery what Aegon actually found out, but you do mention that Planetos is a dead universe and you also leave breadcrumbs to the fate of Aegon. It will definitely make people wonder what the now knows, but this could still be revealed in the future sequel. I also like the additional new scenes, like the scene with the High Septon and the last bit with Gael. It does suck that Aenar doesn’t end up with the rest of the family… hope there’s a way for Aegon to save his grandchild, lost descendants and other Elemaeri citizens.

I really enjoyed your story. Personally I have been looking for a Laenor Si story but this scratch an itch I didn’t know I had for daemon and Visery brother Aegon si . If you ever decide that you want to come back to Asoiaf world you could do a si brother of Rhaegar if you want. Thank you for giving me this story and all the other readers.

I think what bothered me the most about the ending is that in the end the world is doomed. It makes it feel like none if it really mattered. Aegon somehow surviving to return at a later date I am fine with.

Thank you so much for your story. While I'm not really a HxH fan, I'm looking forward to the sequel to Tartered Dragon. This story was a delight to read.

And so it ends. Hands down the greatest ASOIAF fanfic imo. I've been following this story since the first couple of chapters on fanfiction.net and, despite a few hiccups, it exceeded my expectations. But I have to say, I'm sort of conflicted about the finale. I thought Aegon deserved his 'happy ending' and his sacrifice would be a great way to tie up the story. The primordial psionic humans and the surrounding lore around them, multiverses etc, I feel like their introduction was very sudden and diminishes Aegon's story when looking at the bigger picture. I just personally believe that ASOIAF's shitty horrible world deserved a more nobledark/noblebright ending. But, it's your story, and you should write what you actually want, that's the fun of literature in general. While I've read Ammortamento, I think it's time for me to read some of your other works. Looking forward to see what you'll be cooking up next!

This has to be one of the greatest game of thrones story! I'm not to sure about the ending though kind of makes it a more complicated was kind of hoping the ageon was allowed to pass to the heavens for his part in helping with the war of the dawn.
