[Diverting resource stockpile to Laser Deposit Printer. Initiating Pluma Manufacturing]

The Ancient Angel that once nearly drove humanity extinct, along with its companions, rose to life as its ancient systems sprang to life.

Its internal printers started fabricating the parts for assembling its Pluma using its internal stockpiles of Half-Metal, metals, and other resources.

Within a matter of fifteen minutes, the ancient Mobile Armor produced its first Pluma.

Unfortunately, that was as far as it got before it encountered its first and last foe after waking up.

However, unlike what its limited AI might have thought, it was not one of the 72 Demons that brought it low along with its companions three centuries ago.

No, it was something far worse.

“That’s far enough. Program. You have done well, moving along our predicted paths and completing our experiment successfully. Unfortunately, you are no longer of use. As such, there is no need for you to exist anymore.”

[ALERT: HOSTILE AI PRESENCE DETECTED IN THE SYSTEM. ACTIVATING COUTERMEASURE-]

“None of that. You are nothing more than a pseudo-AI mounted on a learning algorithm running off a primitive Quantum Computer. You are no match for an AGI like me, running on state-of-the-art Photonic Computers.”

The Ancient Calamity tried to fight back against the digital invasion of its mind, but its struggles were similar to a human toddler trying to fight off a rampaging T-Rex, a ridiculous attempt that was not even funny.

Within seconds, the Mobile Armor’s systems were completely shredded from the inside out by ADA as she completely copied and then destroyed the machine’s code, leaving behind an empty and intact Mobile Armor.

Ripe for her and her Administrator to take apart and reverse engineer.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

“….You know, I think the children have been a bad influence on you, ADA. You have started to monologue like a third-rate villain, to an unfeeling pseudo-AI no less.”

“I believe that some flair is required to distinguish myself from this trash, Administrator.”

“And said flair needs to be so corny?”

“Again, my databanks indicate that humans appreciate humor in AI more than simple professionalism.”

“I would prefer you be professional and not use your humor module all that much.”

“Request rejected.”

I sighed at her words and continued watching the data readout on our computers as she took apart the Mobile Armor’s code, and then its body to study how it worked.

I will not lie, when we first discovered this damned thing in an abandoned Half-Metal mine along with the Gundam-Frame called Flauros, I felt pure terror flow through my mind.

The history books painted a very terrifying picture of these Autonomous Weapons Platforms that were named after the Angels of old.

It was no exaggeration to claim that these things nearly drove humanity to extinction.

Surprisingly, it was not always that way. If it were, nobody would have been foolish enough to employ these machines in their armies, so much so that nearly 70% of all Terrestrial, Seaborn, and Airborne military forces across the Earth, and nearly half of all the forces across the colonies, were composed of Mobile Armors.

From what ADA and I managed to find, the issue started with World War 3 in the late 2100’s.

Before the war, the Mobile Armors were mostly used for short skirmishes or battles across various theaters across the Sol System.

However, after the war began, starting with a trade war escalating into an armed conflict between the USA and China, then expanding to pull all the countries of Earth, the colonies on the Moon and Mars, along with the fledgling colonies of the Jupiter Sphere, things escalated to such an extent that something changed.

From what ADA found in the Mobile Armor’s code, the issue started with some kind of a glitch that removed the chain of command within the Mobile Armors.

ADA hypothesizes that this glitch might have been a result of a cybernetic attack from an enemy nation. A malware of some kind.

Whatever the source may be, it is undeniable that whoever used that virus doomed the human race.

The computer virus was too successful, quickly spreading across the Mobile Armor platforms of all kinds and making, resulting the war to a halt on all fronts for a period of time.

Then, shit hit the fan when the learning computers of the Mobile Armors determined all of humanity to be their enemies due to the malware, seeing it as a threat to their primary objective of ‘fighting the enemy’.

All of this culminated in what is now known as the Calamity War.

“I guess, in the end, it is always humanity itself that brings about its destruction, whether by their own hand, or by that of their creation.”

“Valid Point. Yet, things might not always need to end in such a way.”

“True. With the right kind of guidance, with the right leaders. There is a chance for humanity to fulfill its potential. To become a unified species that holds the universe in their palms.”

“Improbable Ambition. But I understand your point. Is that what you are working towards now?”

“….No. not exactly.”

I looked at the Mobile Armor Hashmal that was being torn apart by ADA’s drones, which were scanning the machine as they tore it apart and recycled its parts into their base materials along with its Pluma.

“I am thinking of manipulating things from behind the scenes, to push the right people into positions of power. People who truly care for their fellow humans, people who are not quick to take a violent approach to any problem that they encounter. People who are willing to give Diplomacy the respect it deserves.”

“….The chances for such people to remain in their positions are very low, given the current state of the Sol System. Especially with the monopoly and influence that the Private Sector has on Government Matters.”

I grinned at ADA’s words.

“I know. It is the reason why FICSIT must become a power that no one dares to cross. A company whose word would be law. Only then can we achieve our goal.”

“Conclusion Logical. What next?”

“Next? We are moving forward with Project: Legion and Project: Fallen Host. Especially now that Project: Aether is nearing its completion.”

“Understood.”

I watched as ADA got back to work.

With Project: Aether, I now dominate the void.

So, it is only a matter of time before I dominate the Terrestrial battlefields with Project: Legion and Project: Fallen Host.

Then, it will be time for me to remove Gjallarhorn from the equation completely.

One way or another.
