Chapter 10 rough draft

Chapter 10.2

Veredel rolled the window down as she drove into town. She was tired of dealing with the stuffy car air. The edge of town was still a good five miuntes out. She tried tureing the raido in for some music. But all the channels were just diffren’t varints of people stressing over the dissiparences. She wasn’t in the mood to listen to them. It was depressing.

As she rounded the next bend the Anderson Family gas station came into view. Veredel slowed down and pulled into the desolate drive. There was only one person filling up at the pump. Usualy at this time of day it was impossible to find an open spot. She parked her car and went about filling up her car.

As she did so her cell phone rang. Veredel checked the number. It was her impacent mother. Of all the-. She could even wait the time it would take me to get there. She answered, trying to be as pleasant as possible. “Hello?”

“Where are you? I thought I told you to be here with my soda by now.”

“I had to stop for gas.”

“Fill up on the way back.”

I rolled my eyes. “I wouldn’t make it to the hosbital.” I was lying. I had enough gas to last until my return trip home from the police station.

“Well hurry. The doctor just came by and I can’t wait around forever. They are moving your father again.” The line went dead.

Veredel slid the phone into her pocket. Thankfully she was done filling up her vehicle. Time to finish this job for my mother so she doesn’t panic call me again.

She got into the car and coutined on her way back to the hosbtial. From the gas station it was a seven miunte drive. There was little to no traffic on the road. While she was thankful not to have a mid-day rush, it was concerning to see her home town so deserted.

Veredel turned into the parking lot of the hosbital. Unlike the other areas of town the area was jam packed. She had to circle the lot three times until she found someone pulling out of a space. Being quick but carful she secured the parking space. There were three other jackles looking to find a parking spot as well.

After she brought her vehicle to a halt, Veredel wiped the sweat from her brow. Let’s get this over with.

She grabbed the soda out of the passanger seat and stepped out of the car. She locked it as she walked away and ran for the lobby where her mother was waiting for her. The sooner this was over with the better.

There was a lot less emergency vehciles out today. She remembered just yesterday a line of ambuenses around the hosbital. There were still quite a few but thigns were as hetic.

As she went inside the lobby though there was a heavy police pressense. Veredel had to come to an aburt halt, her nerves on edge by all the cops. With her past history, she got a bit gittery around the police. Her father calling them on her when things became too extreme and all. She looked around for her mother who was scratching at her arm in the coner of the room. She was gittery but for another reason. She hadn’t smoked in a few days.

Veredel walked over to her mother, holding her head straight head. Her mother turned to her as she approached. “There you are.” Her eyes went to the pop in Veredel’s hands. “Give it here.”

As she took it a disgusted look appeared on her mothers face. “Ugh its warm. You couldn’t have brought the cooler?” She waved her hand before Veredel could say something. “Don’t’ answer. I am going to hunt down your father. Thanks anyways.”

With that she vanished into the intior of the hosbital. Veredel crossed her arms, muttering under her breath, “Well I didn’t want to see dad anyways.”

She then turned around. Well its time to head to the police startion and see what I can learn about my brother. I just hope that the cops are forthcoming. Or I might have to use my pysonic abilitys to figure things out and give myself a migraine again.
