Quin closed the door to her college dorm room and slumped down. “I can’t believe that just happened.” She pulled out her phone. “I do hope Pam will be alright, though. Maybe I should have rolled her more out of the factory. She did turn into a giant blueberry after all, and I didn’t want anything to happen to her.” Quin shook her head and scratched her short dark hair. “Oh, what am I saying? Pam will be alright.” She narrowed her green eyes at the photo of Pam transformed into a massive 19-foot tall blueberry. “I just wonder how I will get her out of there tomorrow.”
“Hey, Quin. I see that you are finally back. What did you get, blueberries or something?”
Quin quickly shut off her phone and shoved it into her pants pocket. “Oh hey, Marry. How are things going? Also, I just had blueberries a bit ago, but they are all gone.”
“Fine. Had to spend the day studying over at the historical library for an exam.” She stretched her arms. “Remind me why I had to take a course in creative writing?” She sat down and put her head in her hands.
“What do you think the library would help with that class?”
“I don’t know.” She shook her head, her long blonde hair shaking from side to side. “Maybe learning about the lives of Shakespeare or Poe might rub off on me and give me some brilliant insight.”
“I don’t think writing works like that.”
She lifted her head. “Well, why can’t it?”
Quin shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t know. I guess just because it is too easy and since when is life easy?” She walked over and sat down on the side of the bed. “How long are you going to be up for?”
“If you are asking for permission to blast away on that game you love so much, go ahead.” Marry stood up and walked towards her room. “I need the rest for tomorrow anyways. Some of us need to get actual sleep, you know.”
Quin laughed. “Well, I guess I will see you in the morning then. Night.”
“Right. Say hello to Pam for me.”
Quin gulped. “I will. Hey, how is your boyfriend doing? Garry?
Gaven?”
“Gregory.” She smiled. “He runs his own department store.” Marry smiled. “He is such a nice guy.”
“Cool. Well, I will see you tomorrow.” Quin smiled and pulled out her laptop. “Night.”
“Night.” Marry walked into her room and shut the red oak door.
Quin turned her attention back to her laptop. “Ok, time to have some fun.” She cracked her knuckles. “And make some salt rivers flow.” A strange blue fly buzzed out of her backpack and crawled onto her shoulder as she typed away on her laptop. It crept up towards her neck and looked at the computer screen for a moment as the home screen of Champion’s Arena flashed on the screen. Then the bug sunk its teeth into her neck.”
“Oww.” She slapped at her neck, but the fly buzzed away. “What in the world was that?” Quin shook her head and grabbed her headset. “Whatever. I need to focus. I have to practice for both Pam and me now that she is a giant blueberry. Sheesh.”
Quin logged into the game server and noticed that none of her teammates were on. “Where is everyone? Please don’t tell me I have to group with random people to practice tonight.” Quin rolled her eyes. “Things are just going great today. I can’t even get the smell of blueberries out of my head.” She sighed. “Well, I guess I should stop wasting time and just queue for a game even though it is going to suck.”
As she navigated the game menu, the smell of blueberries intensified. “Oh god. I might have to turn on a fan or something.” She waved her hand. “This is getting a bit ridiculous. It is almost like Pam is still here. I do think she is kind of lucky. Being so big and blue like that.” Quin ran her hand along the side of her leg. “All of that juice flowing inside of your body. Making your insides squirm. It must be so nice.” Quin shook her head. “What in the world am I saying? I need to just play a game and put Pam and this blueberry nonsense out of my mind.”
She clicked the ready button and sat back. “Ugh, five-minute queue? Great.” She sat back and scratched at her hand. “The queue times are just juicy tonight, aren’t they? But, ugh, what am I saying? And why do my hands feel all jittery?” Quin looked down at her hands and jumped up. “No, no-no. Why are my hands blue?” She pulled up her sleeves. “And it is spreading up my arms. Oh god, I can feel it spreading.” She rolled her eyes. “It feels so jittery and juicy.” Quin paced back and forth. “What am I going to do? What am I going to do?”
“Everything alright in there, Quin?”
She turned her head. “Oh yes. Everything is just juicy, I mean swell, I mean fine.” Quin put her hand on her forehead and walked towards the door. “Just focus on getting a good night's rest, ok.”
“Then stop making so much noise. Us creative types need our rest.”
“Right.” Quin chuckled to herself and lowered her voice. “I thought Pam was a bit nuts.”
She walked over to her chair and sat down. “What am I going to do? In just a bit, I will end up like Pam did. I giant blueberry with juices flowing inside of me.” Quin shuddered at the thought. “Ohhhhh.” She blinked. “Get a hold of yourself. Pam didn’t have such a hard time with this. What is going on?” She wiped blue sweat from her face. “I should just focus on playing this game while I can, I guess.”
Quin’s eyes went wide as her nipples hardened. “Ohh my.” She put her hands on the desk. “My breasts feel so warm and full.” Quin began to rub her boobs. “What a strange feeling.” She sat back and smiled. “I don’t know what Pam was so upset about; this feels good.”
