The Great Balloon Race Rough Draft

The Great Balloon Race.

Karen opened the door to her apartment and sighed. “That was a nightmare.” She slammed the door behind her. “That is the last time I ever do a personal job for Mr. Fredrick.” She threw up her arms. “Grow to the size of a sky scrapper after finding some strange potion shop. Oh ya the growth will cause your clothting to break appart and you to be stark naked in the middle of down town.” She walked into the kitchen. “Then my own boss sends goons on me and ugh.” She sits down in a hard metal chair. “I am just glad to be home.”

Karen picks up a pamphlet off of her dinning room table. “Hmm well I can’t wait to go on the ballon trip later this month with Gregory. I just met him a few weeks ago but he seems nice.” She rolled her sholders. “And it should be nice to just sit back and float over the contry side.”

Her phone began to ring and she rolled her blue eyes. “Great. I can’t imagine the messages I have on that.” She walked over and picked her cellphone up. “Oh crap it’s Gregory.” She dropped her phone onto the floor. “Shit.” She bent over and picked her cellphone back up with her pale hands and answered it. “Hey Gregory how is it going?”

“How is it going?” His raspy voice floated through the phone. “You vanish for over a week and you ask me how is it going?”

She turned around and began to comb her dark hair with her free hand. “Hey I had a bit of trouble. I finnaly got home. You wouldn’t belive me if I told you.”

“Well you can tell me all about it at the Eversdale Balloon Ride Competion tonight.”

“Tonight? Isn’t that later this week?”

He raised his voice. “Don’t you know what day it even is? It is the twenty sixth. Get that giant head of yours on straight.”

“Hey don’t yell at me. What is going on?”

“I am sorry. I am at work surrounded by complete lunatics.” He sighed. “It isn’t anything personal but the people here at the Jenny Downs Department Store drive me wild. Look I have to go but I will see you after work. Bye.”

She sighed. “Bye.” She set her phone down on the table. “How long have I been away from home?” She looked at the calander on her phone. “Three weeks?” She shook her head. “It only felt like a few days.” She sat down once more.

“What am I going to do? What did Fredrick do to me?” Karen crossed her arms. “I don’t’ know if I even can go back to work. It was bad enough that jerk got me to grow into some giantess but. . .” She shivered at the thought.

“I will figure it out later. For now I need to meet up with Gregory for this competion. I don’t need to blow him off again.” She picked up her purse and heard a gingling sound. “What in the world?” She opend her purse up to find a glowing potion inside. “What is this? There is a note here.”

“Karen. We found a few unused bottles from your trip to Potion’s R Us. We still need data so when you have time please test these potions out for us. Fredrick.”

She set the potion with the swirling green liquid down on the table. “Oh no, no.” Karen crossed her arms. “I had enough trouble the last time with this.” She sighed. “But I don’t need to be out of a job.” She shook her head. “I don’t’ know what to do.”

Karen picked up a quarter off of the table. “Ok. Heads I drink the potion. Tails I say good rediance to Fredrick and this madness.” She flipped the coin and let it land on the table. “Oh fuck.” She picked up the quarter and winced. “Heads.”

She picked up the bottle and sighed. “Well I better get this over with.” She pulled off the cork and gulped. “Down the hatch.” She chuchged the contents of the bottle. “Uguhhh.” Karen held her hand over her mouth. “That is horrible.” She winced. “Worse than any garbage take out I have had in my life.”

She shook her head. “Well I guess I should head out and meet Gregory.” She stood up and stretched. “I can get something to eat on the way there. Though now that I think about it I am not that hungry.” She twisted her torso and stretched her arms. “I was starving when I walked in but now I feel fine. Maybe it was just a figment of my imagination.”

Karen walked back into the other room and grabbed her coat. “Well time to head out to Eversdale.” She scratched at her head. “It will be nice to have a day out but I still wish I could have some time to myself after everything that has happed. Ah well.” She opned the apartment door and stepped once more into the freezing weather outside.

***

Karen pulled her car into the Eversdale Everpark and sighed. “Finnaly after an hour of driving I am here.” She put her hand on her stomach. “I need to find something to settle my stomach.” She groaned. “I think all that potion did is make me feel sick like eating to much hot sauce.” She looked up at one of the giant hot air ballons in the air. “I can’t imagine riding one of those things right now until I settle my stomach.”

She opened the door to her vehicle and stepped out into the chilly air. “Gregroy said he would meet me over by the regerstation station.” She turned her head. “I wonder where that is.” She narrowed her eyes to see a small blue building at the far end of the parking lot. “I assume that is the place.”

She grabed her purse and walked towards the small building. “Not to many people out here today.” She shivered. “Though with how cold it is today I can understand why. What is it? Just above freezing? We are just a few weeks from spring and it is just now warming up. Why couldn’t Gregory wait another few weeks for this?”

“What do you mean we can’t go up in the air? I paid for this months in advance.”

Karen hugged herself as she approached the booth and noticed Gregory. “Hey.” She waved her hand. “Gregory.”

He didn’t turn his head, instead slamming his hand down on the black wood. “My girlfriend is here now. Give us the balloon you promised us.”

The young teenager on the other side blinked his vacent eyes. “I am sorry sir but due to conditions you will have to wait.”

Gregory pointed up in the air. “There is one of your balloons all the way up there. Why can’t me and my girlfriend join them.”

Karen narrowed her eyes. “Excuse me? Girlfriend?”

He looked at her and cracked a half smile. “I umm mean friend or special. Umm.” He blinked his amber eyes. “Look can we talk about this later?”

“Fine.” She crossed her arms and leaned against the booth.

Gregory turned his attention back towards the young teenager. “Now look here. I chew out people twice your age so don’t give me some run around.”

The kid sighed. “Look sir raising your voice won’t help things.”

The veins on Gregory’s neck began to pop out. “Raising my voice? You will know when I am raising my voice. All I want to know is why we can’t get up in the air when those lucky bastards up there can. Why can’t I treat this lucky lady here to a nice day out? Is that to much for you to tell me?”

“Huhhhh. Look that is our one balloon sir. The rest are covered with snow still. Either I give you a refund or you wait an extra hour and pay another hundred. That way you get to go instead of the person slotted at that time.”

“This is highway robbery.”

“It isn’t my fault that the ballons are covered with snow sir.”

Gregory tightend his fists into a ball. “Ughhh.” He reached itno his back pocket. “Fine. But I won’t forget this.” He dropped five twenty dollar bills onto the counter. “There.”

The young man grabbed the cash and slowly counted them. “Ok. Just take a seat over there.” He pointed at a pair of white and black chairs a few feet past the booth. “When the balloon comes back down you can get on. Thank you for choosing the Eversdale Everpark Ballon Service. We appreciate your service.” He sighed and played with his curly blonde hair.

“Right.” He snorted and walked past.

Karen waved at the young man as she walked by. “Thank you. Umm is there anything to eat around here?”

“Sorry. We don’t allow anything like that. People have dropped food off the side of balloons before and almost killed someone in the past. So we just flat out don’t allow that stuff here.”

“You have got to be kidding?”

“Ma’am what about you makes you think I would ever kid?”

She shook her head and walked towards Gregory. “I think the younger generation is becoming weirder and weirder.” She sat down next to him. “I question if that kid has any sense of humor or even any emotion.”

“Ya. Reminds me of the crazy people I have to work with. Did I ever tell you about this one person called Sarah Collinsworth?”

“Who?”

He sat back. “Crazy woman who could never come in on time and was always distracted. Oh yes she could change in size and would never let me use it for the busniness.” He shook his head. “She had a gift and she squandered it.”

“Change in size?”

“Yes and other things.”

She put her hand on his leg. “Look can we just focus on our day? We came out here for us. Not old employees or crazy kids.” She rubbed his leg. “Just us.”

He laughed and smiled. “Right. You are not upset about that girlfriend commet before are you?”

Karen shrugged her sholders. “I don’t know. All I know is we haven’t been seeing eachother long enough for me to make that decision. Ughh.”

He put his hand on her sholder. “What is wrong?”

“My chest hurts. I think it is something I drank eailer today.” She shook her head. “I wanted something to settle my stomach but that jerk said they don’t allow food here.”

He stood up. “I will go and talk some sense into that ninrod.”

Karen grabbed his arm. “No don’t go anywhere.” She used her free hand to rub her chest. “Just stay here with me. The pressure is getting worse.”

“Karen I will be right back. I have to do something.” He walked away. “Hey you. I need something to help my friend here.”

“Ughhh what ever is going on inside my body feels like it is about to come to a head.” She bent forward. “So much pressure.” Shrrripp.

Karen’s eyes widened. “My pants.” She grabbed her rear end and felt a giant tear in the fabric. “Oh my god.” Karen jumped to her feet only to make the tear in her jeans larger. “This isn’t happening.” Rshrrirp. “Stop it.” She held her hands over the giagantic hole on her pants. “It is a good thing no one is here or everyone could see my ass.” She turned her head and looked down. “Like holy hell my gigantic ass. What is going on? How did it get so big? And it is still growing.” She squeezed her butt. “Stop. Stop swelling I say.” Rshrrrip. “Noo. My jeans can’t take my butt being this big.”

“Karen that man is no help.” Her cheeks turned red and she sat back down, her sensitive squishy butt sending shockwaves through her body. “Look I am going to my vehicle and see if I have something there for you.”

She nodded her head. “Ok. Take your time.”

He narrowed his eyes. “Are you alright?”

She laughed. “Of course I am. Why wouldn’t I be alright. I am fine. I just need something to settle that bubbly stomach of mine. I said I was fine right?” She smiled at him.

He scratched at his short dark beard. “Umm I am going to check my car.” He took a few steps away and than stopped. “Hey I could have swoarn you were shorter when I was last time here.”

She laughed again. “Oh come now. I am not like that crazy Sarah you were talking about before.”

He sighed. “Right. I will be right back.” He shrugged his sholders. “Something weird is going on.”

Karen sighed. “That was close. Huh?” She looked down to see her breasts expanding outward. “Oh not you too.” She grabbed the sides of her boobs. “What the hell is even doing this? It feels like they are full of air. God my blouse is getting tight. And this belt is starting to kill me. Oww.”

Karen looked down to see her stomach expanding outward. “Oh god I am starting to look like I am pegnant. I can’t have Gregory come back and see me like this.” She jumped to her feet, her body feeling light as a feather. “Holy.” She wobbled on her feet. “This doesn’t feel right. Why does everything feel so tight but at the same tight soo loose?” She shook her head. “And so damn sensitive.” The wind began to blow and knocked her to the ground. “Ouff.”

She flipped over onto her chest as another gust rippled across the grass; her pants ripping in two to reveal her over inflated ass. “Oh fuck stop already.” Karen fought her way back to her knees, her waistline looking more like a pile of dough. “I need to get a hold of this craziness before my blouse comes undone.” A button burst off her blouse and flew into the wind. “No.” She grabbed her chest with her inflating arms. “Stop swelling. Ohh god my breasts feel soo good.” Another button snapped off her body.
