A Blueberry World Part 4 rough draft Updated

A Blueberry World Part 4

Christen gritted her teeth as she slowly rolled out of her house, dragged by Greg’s truck. She was much more than her usual self, having swollen into a massive blueberry. In fact she could feel the juices still pushing her skin outward.

“Greg I don’t know about this.” She shook her head as her head neared the ground. “I think I will just take my chances swelling inside my house.”

She could hear him laughing from the front seat as he rolled the vehicle out onto the street. “Nonsense. We will get you out and everything will be alright. You will see.”

“I don’t—“

Christen’s world went dark as her head pressed against the ground. A few seconds later she emerged on the other side as she continued to roll. “Ugh. I don’t think this is such a good idea. I am going to get a headache or worse.” She shook her head.

Greg revved the engine. “Oh come now Christen. I am going to get you someplace so you wait this swelling business off.”

Christen sighed. I just don’t get why I have to be taken someplace else to be a human blueberry.

Greg sped off and Christen went for the ride of her life. She rolled along the road at a rapid rate, the juices inside her swirling. Over and over, her head hit the ground. “Oww, oww, owww.”

Greg took a hard right at the corner and Christen bounced over the curb into the Johnsons home. Christen shook her head before being dragged away once again.

Christen tried to look at where she was going before her head hit the ground. “I need to.—” She winced as her head hit the pavement. “Get a bearing on my surroundings.”

Her eyes widened as she noticed a hill approaching. “Greg.” He head hit the pavement once more. Christen waited for her body to roll around. “Stop, you can’t take me down a hill. I will roll out of—“Her head hit the ground yet again. “Control.”

“Oh it will be fine.”

She picked up speed as he drove down the hill. In moments she rolled over Greg’s truck, almost crushing him in the process. “Sorry.” The rope did little to stop her, she rolled downward out of control towards the center of town.

Christen barred her way through an intersection, crushing a car unlucky to get in her way. She continued down the street until she rammed hard into the side of a strip mall. “Ouff. I don’t want to go on that ride again.” She looked around. “What am I going to do now?”

She felt someone touching her round body. “Hey who is down there?”

“Oh my god. It talked.”

“I am not an it. Get off of me.”

“Eww. There is blueberry juice coming off her skin.”

“Stop touching me. Whoever you are.”

“Bet you ten bucks to roll the blueberry person Teddy.”

“Deal Andy.”

Christen narrowed her eyes. “Whoever is down there stop it.” She could now just see over the top of the building. “Ugh I am still swelling, great.” She shook her head. “Not the important thing. Whoever is down there leave me alone. Don’t roll me you could get hurt.”

Christen was ignored as the next thing she knew she had tiny hands pushing on her, slowly rolling her. As she moved she could see four young kids, ranging in age from seven to seventeen, standing around her. The youngest boy was currently trying to push her away from the strip mall.

“Will you kids stop it? I finally stopped rolling and now you want me to start again?”

The oldest boy shook his head. “Look whoever you are, it isn’t personal.” He shrugged. “Besides. You are just a blueberry.”

Christen narrowed her eyes. “Hey I am more than just a blueberry. I go to college.”

One of the girls in the group laughed. “Who ever heard of a blueberry going to school?”

“Ya. I know right?”

The kids stopped pushing on her body and grouped together. The young boy who had been rolling Christen walked up to the eldest and held out his hand. “Ok I rolled the giant blueberry lady. Where is my money?”

The teenager snickered. “You hardly made her move Teddy.”

The kid held up his hands. “She is dripping in blueberry juice Andy. My hands kept slipping off her body.”

Christen shook her head. He is right. I can feel the juice starting to seep out of my skin.

“You still didn’t make her roll far enough.” Andy tapped his finger on his chin. “We will just have to think of something else.” The others laughed.

“Oh come on. Can’t we just go do something else?” Teddy asked.

The other young kid, a girl just older then Teddy with short blonde hair nodded her head. “Ya. This is starting to get weird.”

Andy shook his head, his long red hair waving in the wind. “Nonsense. This is a once in a life time opportunity we have here.”

“What is that?” She asked?

“Well Clara. . .” He looked out into space. “I am not really sure what else we can do with a giant blueberry woman.”

The other girl held up her hand. “We can pop her.”

Christen’s eyes went wide. “I am not a balloon.”

“Good job Tess. We can pop here.”

Christen tried to move in protest. “Hey aren’t you brats listening to me? I am a blueberry. I will not pop. Don’t you dare try poking me with anything sharp?” They began to run away from her. “Get back here.” She shook her head trying to force herself to roll. “Ugh.”

Tess returned first with what appeared to be a metal rod. “Ok. I am not waiting for the others.”

Christen shook her head. “Don’t you dare.” She felt the cold steel press up against her body.

“Come on.” Tess narrowed her eyes. “Pop.”

All that happened was the young lady pushed Christen into a street light. “Ugh I feel like I am going to be sick.” Christen’s head was stuck at a forty five degree angle off the ground and with Tess pocking her body over and over again the juices were rushing to her mouth. “Ugh.”

“Hey Tess you are not going to pop the blueberry that way.”

“Oh Teddy. Like you could do it.”

“Hey. This is a quality grade stick. It popped many a balloon in its day and it will do so again.”

Christen swallowed a mouthful of blueberry juice. “I am not a. Ugh never mind. I am not sure you kids even care what I am saying at this point.”

Christen felt a sharp jab in what used to be her rear end as Teddy jabbed her with the stick. “I can see some more juice coming out but it doesn’t seem to be working.”

“Well you did better than me.”

Christen sighed. At least he relived some of this pressure. Even though that stick hurt I can feel the juices leaking out finally. I might slowly turn back to normal.

“Let me try.” Christen turned her head to see Clara walk up with a baseball bat.

“You have got to be kidding me.” Christen said. “What am I, a blue piñata?”

Clara took a deep breath and then swung. The impact of the batt sent shockwaves across Christen’s body; even her head vibrated. “Oh god.”

Clara scratched at her chin. “That didn’t do much. Only a little bit of juice came out of the hole Teddy made.”

Teddy smiled. “See I did something right.”

Clara clasped at the handles on the bat. “I better try this again.”

Christen yelled at the top of her lungs. “Please don’t.”

Clara stopped mid swing. “Why?”

Christen sighed. They are finally listening to me. “How would you like to have all of your insides vibrate and bounce around your body like ping pong balls?”

Clara looked up while she tapped her finger on her face. “That sounds like fun.” She hit Christen once more.

Christen gritted her teeth as she went for another ride. “These . . . kids are . . . crazy.”

“Hey you are not going to pop the blueberry lady like that.”

Christen’s eyes widened as she saw Andy approaching with a fire poker. “Oh no, no. You keep that thing away from me.”

“This will pop her for sure.” He walked up to Christen with a big smile on his face. “I just need to find the right spot.” He slid his hand over Christen’s round body. “Here we go.” He pulled his arm back and thust the poker into her body.

“Oww.”

“Hey it’s stuck.” Andy tried to pull the poker out, putting his other hand and a foot onto her body. “Come on you damn thing.” Christen felt the metal tip bounce around inside her before finally bursting free.

“Ahh.” Suddenly a wave of pressure left her body. “I am shrinking.” Juice flooded out of her body like a tidal wave. The kids were swept away, hitting the side of the strip mall. In moments Christen lay on the ground in a sea of blueberry juice. She slowly stood up, looking around. The mall and parking lot were covered in juice, the kids were slowly standing up and wiping off the blueberry juice from their bodies.

“That was crazy. At least I am no longer a blueberry.” Christen wiped the excess juice from her body. “How much of this to I have to wipe off. Did it soak my skin blue or something?” As she cautioned to rub at her skin her arm began to turn violet. “It will turn back to normal. Right?”

She turned to look at the kids. They were now standing and staring at her. She took one step towards them and they bolted. “Hey. Where are you going? You can’t just do this to me and run.” Christen crossed her arms. “Well then. I guess I should head home.” She scratched at her head. “I just hope that this blueberry thing isn’t permeant.”
