Sizeran Dilemma chapter 10

The Sizeran Dilemma chapter 10

Alicila narrowed her eyes at Ventor. “What? Are you trying to make some kind of threat?”

Nora laughed. “He is a bit crazy. Always stirring up trouble when we don’t need it. Just focus on rolling us back to town before the effects of the blueberry powder wear off, hun. We need these Lulvix berries in our jail already.”

Alicila shook her head. “How did I get into this situation. Rolling giant blueberry people because they couldn’t figure out a way not to infect themselves.”

Ventor moved in the way once more. “Please. I am serious.”

Alicila stomped her foot onto the ground and caused Ventor to jump into the air. “Will you stop running in my way? I don’t want one of these giant blueberries to flatten you.”

“Then listen to me, Alicila. It will be midnight soon.”

“So what?” She began to roll Nora past him. “All that tells me is I have to get this job done so I can get some sleep tonight.”

Ventor rushed forward to keep pace with Alicila. “Look, this is also about Terrondale.

The town is in serious trouble.”

Nora took a deep breath. “What nonsense are you going on about Ventor. We berrifed this garrison. We don’t have anything to worry about.” She giggled. “Terrondale will be living the high life for the next few weeks.”

He slapped the inflated body of Nora, sending massive tidal waves throughout her body. “There is going to be a drider attacking the town if we don’t do something.”

Nora stopped laughing. “What are you talking about? There are no were-spiders around here.”

“It’s my sister. Remember that she came here to escape what has been going on down south?” Ventor sighed. “Well, she asked me to find a safe place to lock her up last night when she told me she had been attacked by some of those were drider things closer to the Lulvix capital area. I am afraid for my sister and what would happen to the town if she got out. It is getting close to midnight. We have to do something.”

Terrondale came into view. “What is a drider?” Alicila asked?

Ventor sighed. “They are people who turn into half human half spider creatures on the full moon. Some of them retain their minds, some don’t.”

“Half-human?”

Ventor nodded his head. “Upper body of a human, lower body of a spider.”

Alicila shivered. “That doesn’t sound all that pleasant.”

“Don’t worry, Alicila. He is just trying to scare you.”

Ventor slammed the side of Nora’s body again. “I am deadly serious. My sister is going to transform in the next hour or so, and I need help protecting her.” He looked up at Alicila. “So, can I count on you again?”

“I already have my hands full.” She rolled Nora to a stop at the edge of town. “I don’t know if there is anyone else who can handle this work right now.”

A half a dozen people rushed forward. “What is going on?”

Nora laughed. “The attack on the garrison didn’t go as planned. Rush out there and help Alicila get the rest of our people, and those Lulvix creeps rolled back here.”

Alicila smiled. “Thanks for the help, everyone.”

Ventor slammed his foot onto the ground. “Hey, what about me?” He watched the townspeople rush down the dirt road. “My sister needs help.”

Alicila knelt down beside him. “Look. I believe that your sister needs help, but if we don’t roll those poor people who were turned into blueberries back here, they will be taken by the Lulvix people. You don’t want them to be taken away to prison because we left them behind, do you?”

“I umm. . .” He shook his head. “Damnit all, no.”

“Then hurry up and help us, so we have time to do both.” She gently used her index finger to pat him on the back. “It will be ok.” She used both of her hands to pick him up. “Now come on. It will go faster if you help. Then we can focus on your sister.”

Ventor sighed. “Ok. You don’t have to carry me through.”

Alicila set him back down. “I just wanted to try and hurry things up as much as I could.” She started walking, making sure to keep pace with Ventor. “I want to try my best to help you for what you have done for me so far.”

“Thank you. I appreciate it.”

She looked down the darkened path. “So why do Nora and the others look on you so unfavorably?”

He smirked. “Maybe it’s because I spilled some of that blueberry concoction, they have been making on the town’s food supply more than once. You get people turned into giant blueberries turning a festival people tend not to be too happy about it all.” He shook his head. “Still, it isn’t any reason to take it out on my sister. She hasn’t done anything wrong and has been through enough.”

“I don’t think they are taking it out on anyone. This just isn’t a good time.” They moved to the side as a giant blueberry was rolled past them. “I mean, we have almost a half a dozen blueberry people to roll to town.”

“Maybe.”

Alicila raised her hand. “Look. Here is the garrison. Let’s get another one of these giant blue people back to Terrondale and get your mind off of this for the time being.” She walked up and put her hands on one of the big blue balls. “Come and help me.”

Ventor sighed. “You don’t need any help.”

“Maybe, but you need to do something. So come on.”

He walked over as the inflated blue man spat at Alicila. “You won’t get away with this. Just because you turned all of us into giant blue balls, you haven’t stopped the Lulvix Alliance. Sizeran, you can’t ignore me.”

Alicila slammed her fist down on him. “Quiet unless you want me to see how to go about popping you.” The man promptly shut up. “Now, just enjoy the ride back to town.”

Ventor and Alicila rolled him back towards Terrondale. “We get him back to town, and I think the others can handle the rest.”

“But there are still three more there.” Alicila winked at Ventor. “Ohhh.” He smiled. “Thank you.”

“No problem.” She smiled. “So, what is your sister like?”

“Umm, nice, I guess. I haven’t seen much of her since we were kids, and we had to part ways. Our parents decided that they wanted to separate when we were young and such.”

“That sucks.” She wiped her hands on her pants. “Ugh, this creep is slimy.”

The Lulvix guard snorted. “I resent that. If you have a problem with my slimy blueberry state, you shouldn’t have turned me into one.”

Alicila slammed the guard once more. “I said can it.” She sighed. “I’m sorry, Ventor.”

“It’s ok. Anyways I have just been trying to get to know Trishia lately. And then this mess happens. I don’t want anything to happen to her. I just got her back after almost twenty-five years. I don’t need some were drider nonsense to take her away again.”

The blueberry Lulvix guard trembled. “Drider? Here?” Blueberry juice seeped out of his skin. “No. Roll me back. I will not be locked in some town with one of those monsters.”

Ventor pulled out a knife. “My sister is not a monster.”

“One of those things destroyed my hometown. If I wasn’t stuck like this, I would burn Terrondale to the ground just to be sure I got the witch.”

Alicila gave the guard a giant push and let him roll down the path at an alarming speed. “Oops. I guess I don’t know my own strength.”

“Hey. Help me.” He quickly rolled out of control. “Someone.” He came to an abrupt stop as his body hit the side of a tree. “Oww.”

She slowly walked up. “Oh, I’m sorry. I will be more careful next time.” She rolled him further down the road. “But hey, at least the town is in view now.”

The guard sighed. “Finally.”

Ventor waved at Alicila. “Once you are done with him, meet me on the edge of town. Then I will take you to where my sister is.”

She nodded her head. “Ok.” She then patted the guard on his big blue body. “As for you, let’s find you a nice space for you to sit in before you head off to jail. And maybe later you can tell me what happened to my mother, ok?”
