Water Troubles Rough Draft

Water Troubles.

“Are you even listening to me?” Beth shook her head and looked at her boss. “I have been trying to explain what you will be doing here at Potion’s R Us and you are just lost in the clouds.”

Beth sighed as she tugged at her long black curles. “I am sorry Mr. Gongsel.”

He snorted. “Look you really need to pay attention. This is not your every run of the mill store.”

She laughed. “Oh come on how. How bad can it be to just cleaning up in this dusty old building after hours.”

His deathly pale face somehow turned even more pale. “It could mean the difference between life and death. You knock over the wrong bottle and things that you couldn’t even imagine will happen to you?”

She giggled and blinked her green eyes. “Like what exactly?”

He threw up his arms. “Things beyond your imagination.” He closed his blue eyes. “How are you not getting this you damn kid.”

She narrowed her eyes. “Hey there is no need to be rude.”

Mr. Gongsel took a deep breath. “Look I am not trying to be rude. I just don’t want something bad to happen to you because you knocked over something by accietent or thought something was a bottle of water when it wasn’t. You need to be carful around here.”

Beth nodded her head. “Ya, ya. Look can I get started so I can earn my pay. My rent won’t pay itself.”

“But. . .”

She shurged her tan shoulders. “Look you have been showing me how to sweep and dust this place all day. I think I am safe to clean a small convince store ok? I don’t get why you are so concerned something bad will happen. This place is nothing like when I had to work down at that fast food joint. I almost lost a finger there.” She laughed painfully. “Good times. Good times.”

Mr. Gongsel shook his head and looked at the ground. “Fine.” He tossed her a large gold key. “Close up by five. Don’t handle any transations. If anyone wants to buy something just send them to the back room. Got it?”

She nodded her head. “Yes like the last few hundred times you told me yes. Now go. You can trust me.”

He walked towards the open door. “Just remember what I said. Becarful what you touch. This place isn’t what it seems.” He sighed and walked out the door. “I can’t believe they want to hire new people on like this. It’s abusrd.”

Beth smiled. “Now I can kick back and relax.” She pulled up a chair. “I am on easy street.” She grabbed a vial of glowing liquid. “No one comes into this little shop so I can just relax until five. So much better than snot nosed brats yelling at me to get them their food all day long.” She took a sip of the bottle and winced. “Ugh that is stronger than I remember.” Beth took another gulp. “Still good though.” She set the vial of glowing liquid down next to her soda.

“I should call up Dex and see if he can come over before his shift starts. He will get a kick out of his.” Beth tapped her chest. “Wow that soda has quite an afterburn. I think I will have to look into a new brand or something.” She picked up her soda can and took a few sips. “Ahh that is better.” She took a deep breath. “Much.”

She set the soda back down on the counter and slid her hand into her pocket. “Ok now to get Dex down here. I am not spending the next couple hours here alone.” She smiled. “I need someone to help liven this place up.” She held the phone up to her ear. “Hello Dex. Hey it’s me. Can you come down here?” Beth stood up. “Where is here? Oh come on now don’t you know? I am at that strange new store on Twenty Eighth. Yes the one that calls themselves Potions themsvles or something stupid like that. Now get down here. We are going to have a sweet old time.”

She slammed the phone down on the desk. “Sweet. Best gig I have ever had.” She sat back and took another sip of her soda. “Can’t believe that old man left me alone in here.” Beth laughed. “Acutaly I can’t believe how they keep this place running when no one comes in here.” She scratched at her chest. “Is it kind of hot in here? I should go check the AC.” She stood up. “I swear when I came in here the dam aircondicting was working.”

She made her way over to the thermostat. “Odd, everything seems to be in order.” Beth sighed. “I think I must have had a mini head wave or something.” She giggled. “Maybe that Mr. Gongsel played a trick on me and left a window open.” She turned around and gasped. “Holy crap.” She rushed towards one of the glass containors which held some of the strange bottles. “This can’t be real.” She stared at her reflection and her enlarged breasts. “Maybe it’s a trick of the mirros?”

Beth looked down at her chest. “Nope my boobs defenity increased in size. This is weird.” She gently touched her chest. “I am definteily going to attract more attention now. I wonder how something like this could have happened?” She sighed. “Ahh well I guess it isn’t that important.” She crossed her arms. “I need to find something that me and Dex can do here without trashing the joint.” She tapped her fingers on her side. “Maybe I can call him again and have him bring something here? Nah. Too late for that.”

She walked over and slid back down into her chair. “Next time sneak something into work.”

“Hey there. How is my favorite girl?” She looked up to see Dex standing in the entrance to the store with a beer in his hands. “Ready to party?”

She jumped to her feet. “How did you get here so fast?”

“Hey I have my ways.” He took a sip from the cold icy beverage. “So you really have this place all to yourself? No one will come in here or anything?”

Beth shrugged her shoulders as he walked over. “I don’t know maybe? But I haven’t seen anyone but me come in here in an entire week and I live across the street. I think we are safe.”

“Safe enough to dich this place and find some real fun?”

She looked at the beer in his tan hand. “Are you sure you should be drinking that? Don’t you have work in a few hours?”

Dex held up his hands. “Hey, I can have one beer. What my boss doesn’t know won’t kill him.” He looked up at the ceiling. “Or is that phrase supposed to be won’t kill me?”

Beth laughed. “How did you ever get though high school?”

“With my good looks of course.”  He took another sip. “Hey there is something different about you.”

Beth blushed. “Umm no there isn’t.” She turned away. “I think we should focus on finding something to do already.”

“Oh come now Beth. Let me get a good look at you.” She turned around. “Hey did you put something in your hair?”

She sighed. “No. Now stop pesterting me about it.” She pushed his hand away. I thought he was going to ask why my breasts had ballooned in size. That went better than I thought. “Now let’s figure out what we want to do for the night.”

“Ya. What did you drag me all the way down here for? To play cards or something.”

She slammed her foot onto the ground. “Of course not.” Beth blinked her eyes. “Umm I am not exactly sure. What do you want to do?”

“Hey you are the one who dragged me down here. What is it that you have planned here Beth?” He blinked his brown eyes expenctendly.

She shook her head. “Hey we can’t just start doing this crap again.”

“What are you talking about?”

She threw her hands into the air. “This. What do you think? It happens every time we meet up. We can’t decide on just what we are going to do and we constantly ask eachtoher what the other wants until we just go get a pizza.”

“Ya let’s go do that.”

“No. I don’t just want to get another pizza. I want to do something fun Dex.”

He slid his hands into his pockets. “Hey if something isn’t broke don’t fix it.”

Beth raised an eyebrow. “This isn’t some program. We are in a rut. Come on. There is a bowling alley just down the street.”

“Bowling?”

She smiled. “Ya. They have more there than just that. They have an arcade and some other games. Lazer tag. Beer! Food! It is a nice little fun place.” She groaned. “And if we must pizza.”

Dex laughed. “Well you said the magic words. Let’s go.” He rushed out of the store.

Beth sighed. “Sometimes I feel like I need to meet some new people.” She grabbed her soda. “But Dex is fun at least.” She took another few sips. “Ahh.”  He breasts tensed up. “Ugh not again. I hope this just a passing thing.” She shook her head. “Damn hot flashes.” She set the bottle down not realasing she had used the glowing vial again which read Body Enhacment. “Well time to meet up with Dax. I am sure that my boss won’t mind that I take a little bit of a break.”

***

A few minutes later she arrived at the Fallen Pines Bowling Alley. “Finnaly. Now I need to find Dex.” She sighed. “He probably went to find that damn pizza vendor knowing him.” Beth put her hands into her pocket. “I just wish I knew what that sloshing sound was.” She looked around. “I think I spilled something but I can’t put my finger on it. Ugh it’s bad enough I have these swollen. . .” Her eyes widdend. “Oh fuck not again.”

A young lady stared at her. “Everything alright miss?”

Beth smiled and waved her fingers. “Yes. Everything is ok.” Her cheeks turned red. “Sorry to bother you.”

The lady sighed and walked towards the parking lot. “Damn tramps.”

Beth groaned. “Not again. My boobs swelled again.” She looked around to make sure no one was looking and then gently touched her right breast. “What is in there? It feels like some strange liquid. Ugh this is getting weird. I am just going to head inside and find Dex.” She rushed through the sliding door and into the bowling alley. “Hey Dex where are you?”

She spotted him immedieatly. “What do you mean I can’t eat if I don’t bowl?”

“Sorry sir but it’s our policy.”

Beth walked fowrd to join him. “Everything alright?”

He threw up his arms. “We can’t have our pizza without bowling. That is what’s wrong.”

She raised an eyebrow. “I thought we came here to do something new. Come on let’s try bowling.”

“But. . .”

She grabbed his hands. “Hey it will be fine. The ball’s won’t bite.”
