“Are you even listening to me?” Beth shook her head and looked at her boss. “I have been trying to explain what you will be doing here at Potion’s R Us, and you are just lost in the clouds.”
Beth sighed as she tugged at her long black curls. “I am sorry Mr. Gongsel.”
He snorted. “Look, you really need to pay attention. This is not your every run-of-the-mill store.”
She laughed. “Oh, come on, how. How bad can it be to just be cleaning up in this dusty old building after hours.”
His deathly pale face somehow turned even paler. “It could mean the difference between life and death. You knock over the wrong bottle, and things that you couldn’t even imagine will happen to you?”
She giggled and blinked her green eyes. “Like what exactly?”
He threw up his arms. “Things beyond your imagination.” He closed his blue eyes. “How are you not getting this, you damn kid.”
She narrowed her eyes. “Hey, there is no need to be rude.”
Mr. Gongsel took a deep breath. “Look, I am not trying to be rude. I just don’t want something bad to happen to you because you accidentally knocked over something or thought something was a bottle of water when it wasn’t. You need to be careful around here.”
Beth nodded her head. “Ya, ya. Look, can I get started so I can earn my pay. My rent won’t pay itself.”
“But. . .”
She shrugged her tan shoulders. “Look, you have been showing me how to sweep and dust this place all day. I think I am safe to clean a small convince store, ok? I don’t get why you are so concerned something terrible will happen. This place is nothing like when I had to work down at that fast food joint. I almost lost a finger there.” She laughed painfully. “Good times.
Good times.”
Mr. Gongsel shook his head and looked at the ground. “Fine.” He tossed her a large gold key. “Close up by five. Don’t handle any transactions. If anyone wants to buy something, just send them to the back room. Got it?”
She nodded her head. “Yes, like the last few hundred times you told me yes. Now go. You can trust me.”
He walked towards the open door. “Just remember what I said. Be careful what you touch. This place isn’t what it seems.” He sighed and walked out the door. “I can’t believe they want to hire new people on like this. It’s absurd.”
Beth smiled. “Now I can kick back and relax.” She pulled up a chair. “I am on easy street.” She grabbed a vial of glowing liquid. “No one comes into this little shop, so I can just relax until five. So much better than snot-nosed brats yelling at me to get them their food all day long.” She took a sip of the bottle and winced. “Ugh, that is stronger than I remember.” Beth took another gulp. “Still good, though.” She set the vial of glowing liquid down next to her soda.
“I should call up Dex and see if he can come over before his shift starts. He will get a kick out of his.” Beth tapped her chest. “Wow, that soda has quite an afterburn. I think I will have to look into a new brand or something.” She picked up her soda can and took a few sips. “Ahh, that is better.” She took a deep breath. “Much.”
She set the soda back down on the counter and slid her hand into her pocket. “Ok, now to get Dex down here. I am not spending the next couple hours here alone.” She smiled. “I need someone to help liven this place up.” She held the phone up to her ear. “Hello, Dex.
Hey, it’s me. Can you come down here?” Beth stood up. “Where is here? Oh, come on now, don’t you know? I am at that strange new store on Twenty-Eighth. Yes, the one that calls themselves Potions themselves or something stupid like that. Now get down here. We are going to have a sweet old time.”
She slammed the phone down on the desk. “Sweet. Best gig I have ever had.” She sat back and took another sip of her soda. “Can’t believe that old man left me alone in here.” Beth laughed. “Actually, I can’t believe how they keep this place running when no one comes in here.” She scratched at her chest. “Is it kind of hot in here? I should go check the AC.” She stood up. “I swear when I came in here, the dam air conditioning was working.”
She made her way over to the thermostat. “Odd, everything seems to be in order.” Beth sighed. “I think I must have had a mini head wave or something.” She giggled. “Maybe that Mr. Gongsel played a trick on me and left a window open.” She turned around and gasped.
“Holy crap.” She rushed towards one of the glass containers which held some of the strange bottles. “This can’t be real.” She stared at her reflection and her enlarged breasts. “Maybe it’s a trick of the mirror?”
Beth looked down at her chest. “Nope, my boobs definitely increased in size. This is weird.” She gently touched her chest. “I am definitely going to attract more attention now. I wonder how something like this could have happened?” She sighed. “Ahh, well, I guess it isn’t that important.” She crossed her arms. “I need to find something Dex, and I can do here without trashing the joint.” She tapped her fingers on her side. “Maybe I can call him again and have him bring something here? Nah. Too late for that.”
She walked over and slid back down into her chair. “Next time, sneak something into work.”
“Hey there. How is my favorite girl?” She looked up to see Dex standing in the entrance to the store with a beer in his hands. “Ready to party?”
She jumped to her feet. “How did you get here so fast?”
“Hey, I have my ways.” He took a sip from the cold icy beverage. “So, you really have this place all to yourself? No one will come in here or anything?”
Beth shrugged her shoulders as he walked over. “I don’t know, maybe? But I haven’t seen anyone but me come in here in an entire week, and I live across the street. So I think we are safe.”
“Safe enough to ditch this place and find some real fun?”
She looked at the beer in his tan hand. “Are you sure you should be drinking that?
Don’t you have work in a few hours?”
Dex held up his hands. “Hey, I can have one beer. What my boss doesn’t know won’t kill him.” He looked up at the ceiling. “Or is that phrase supposed to be won’t kill me?”
Beth laughed. “How did you ever get through high school?”
“With my good looks, of course.” He took another sip. “Hey, there is something different about you.”
Beth blushed. “Umm, no, there isn’t.” She turned away. “I think we should focus on finding something to do already.”
“Oh, come now, Beth. Let me get a good look at you.” She turned around. “Hey, did you put something in your hair?”
She sighed. “No. Now stop pestering me about it.” She pushed his hand away. I thought he would ask why my breasts had ballooned in size. That went better than I thought. “Now, let’s figure out what we want to do for the night.”
“Ya. What did you drag me all the way down here for? To play cards or something.”
She slammed her foot onto the ground. “Of course not.” Beth blinked her eyes. “Umm, I am not exactly sure. What do you want to do?”
“Hey, you are the one who dragged me down here. What is it that you have planned here, Beth?” He blinked his brown eyes expectantly.
She shook her head. “Hey, we can’t just start doing this crap again.”
“What are you talking about?”
She threw her hands into the air. “This. What do you think? It happens every time we meet up. We can’t decide on just what we are going to do, and we constantly ask each other what the other wants until we just go get a pizza.”
“Ya, let’s go do that.”
“No. I don’t just want to get another pizza. I want to do something fun, Dex.”
He slid his hands into his pockets. “Hey, if something isn’t broke, don’t fix it.”
Beth raised an eyebrow. “This isn’t some program. We are in a rut. Come on.
There is a bowling alley just down the street.”
“Bowling?”
She smiled. “Ya. They have more there than just that. They have an arcade and some other games. Laser tag. Beer!
Food! It is a nice little fun place.” She groaned. “And if we must, pizza.”
Dex laughed. “Well, you said the magic words. Let’s go.” He rushed out of the store.
Beth sighed. “Sometimes I feel like I need to meet some new people.” She grabbed her soda. “But Dex is fun at least.” She took another few sips. “Ahh.” Her breasts tensed up. “Ugh, not again. I hope this is just a passing thing.” She shook her head. “Damn hot flashes.” She set the bottle down, not realizing she had used the glowing vial again, which read Body Enhancement. “Well, time to meet up with Dax. I am sure that my boss won’t mind that I take a little bit of a break.”
***
A few minutes later, she arrived at the Fallen Pines Bowling Alley. “Finally.
Now I need to find Dex.” She sighed. “He probably went to find that damn pizza vendor knowing him.” Beth put her hands into her pocket. “I just wish I knew what that sloshing sound was.” She looked around. “I think I spilled something, but I can’t put my finger on it. Ugh, it’s bad enough I have these swollen. . .” Her eyes widened. “Oh fuck, not again.”
A young lady stared at her. “Everything alright, miss?”
Beth smiled and waved her fingers. “Yes. Everything is ok.” Her cheeks turned red. “Sorry to bother you.”
The lady sighed and walked towards the parking lot. “Damn tramps.”
Beth groaned. “Not again. My boobs swelled again.” She looked around to ensure no one was looking and gently touched her right breast. “What is in there? It feels like some strange liquid. Ugh, this is getting weird. I am just going to head inside and find Dex.” She rushed through the sliding door and into the bowling alley. “Hey, Dex, where are you?”
She spotted him immediately. “What do you mean I can’t eat if I don’t bowl?”
“Sorry, sir, but it’s our policy.”
Beth walked forward to join him. “Everything alright?”
He threw up his arms. “We can’t have our pizza without bowling. That is what’s wrong.”
She raised an eyebrow. “I thought we came here to do something new. Come on, let’s try bowling.”
“But. . .”
She grabbed his hands. “Hey, it will be fine. The balls won’t bite.”
Dex sighed. “Fine. We can try this little game of yours out. But I have never bowled in my life before, so no promise that I will enjoy it.” He turned towards the man at the desk.
“I guess we will have a lane.”
“Very good. Lane twenty-three is open. You can get set up there, and we can have your food delivered to you by the time you start.”
Dex’s eyes lit up. “Really? Can I order here now?”
The man behind the desk raised an eyebrow. “Umm, no? Just go to your lane and use the electronic ordering menu before you get your balls and shoes picked out.”
Dex sighed. “Oh. Fine.”
He grabbed Beth’s arm. “Let’s go. I want our food already.”
“Hey. Don’t pull so hard.” She sighed as her enlarged breasts shook about. “Ugh, this is embarrassing.”
They entered the bowling alley, and to Beth’s surprise, the place wasn’t that full. Only two other lanes were taken. “Odd, I thought by the way that guy at the desk said we would have lane twenty-three open that more people would be, you know, bowling.”
Dex yanked her down the bowling alley. “Who cares. It will just mean our food will come out faster.” He slid into the hard metal chair in their lane. “Perfect. Now let’s get to ordering our food.”
Beth crossed her arms. “Don’t you think we should enjoy ourselves?”
He typed away on the control panel. “That is what I am doing. Now, what do you want?”
Beth rolled her eyes and stood up. “Just the usual. I am going to get my shoes.”
“Perfect.” He typed away. “Oh, and they have the bowling balls already here. Hey, can you get me my shoes? Size eight and a half?”
She rolled her eyes. “I almost think we should have stayed at my place of work.
This seems to be a waste of time.” She walked up to the young lady at the shoe counter. “Hey, I would like a pair of shoes for my friend and me.”
The lady had her back turned to Beth. “One moment. I need to finish cleaning.”
“I umm—
“I said one moment.” The lady turned around and set a pair of shoes on the counter.
“Can’t you listen to me?”
Beth gulped. “I wasn’t going to say anything.”
The lady narrowed her eyes. “People always want to rush me. Irin, you are not getting my shoes fast enough. Irin, you are not cleaning right. Irin, you didn’t wash my car down like I asked.”
“Ummmm.”
“Look, just take the shoes.”
Beth looked at the pair on the desk. “But these won’t fit me. And my friend needs eight and a half as well.”
Irin slammed her hand down on the table. “They will fit you just fine. As for your friend.” She reached under the desk and threw another pair of shoes at her. “Here. Take them.”
Beth picked up the shoes. “Fine.” She turned around. “What a grouch.” She walked back over to where Dex was waiting for her. “I have the shoes.”
He smiled. “Good.” He grabbed his shoes as Beth tossed them over. “Food will be here soon, but they already sent us some drinks.”
“Oh?”
He groaned. “Don’t get your hopes up. All they have is water.”
She sat down and flipped off her sneakers. “That is fine with me. I am sick of soda anyways.” Beth narrowed her eyes as she slid on her bowling shoes. These things are way too big. Great. She took a sip of her water. Ahh, that is better. She shivered. Maybe a bit too much. Ugh, I feel weird again. She took another gulp of water to calm her nerves, but the feeling only intensified. What is going on?
“Hey, Beth, are you alright? It looks like you are sweating bullets. Are you as upset over this bowling thing as I am?” He watched as her chest began to expand.
“Umm, Beth?”
“I think there is something seriously wrong with the water in this town.” She set her drink down as she pulled at her shirt. “It is making me feel very funny.” A button popped off of her blouse and hit Dex in the face. “Fuck.”
He shook his head. “Wow.”
She blushed. “I don’t know what is going on.” She sat down, and her eyes went wide. “What in the world?” Beth grabbed her rear end to feel it filling up with a strange liquid as well. “Not my butt as well.” She stood up, the zipper on her pants slowly coming undone.
“This is insane. Everything is becoming so big and tight. Ugh. I need another drink to calm my nerves.”
She drank the rest of her water, and her body throbbed. Her breasts pressed against her body as she felt water begin to fill her body. “Ughh.” Beth moaned as her boobs expanded, buttons on her blouse popping off one by one. She could feel her ass swelling up as well, tears in her jeans slowly starting to appear. “What is happening?”
Dex picked up his bowling ball. “I don’t know, but I am glad we came bowling.”
Beth tried to cross her arms. “I am having a major issue here, and now you decide that you like bowling?” The last button on her blouse exploded off of her and hit Dex in the face. “What kind of friend are you?”
“Hey, the one you need. Oh, look, our food is here.”
The young man set the pizza on the table. “Here you two are. I hope you enjoy your food.” He took one look at Beth. “Holy mother of god. I mean, umm, I like your outfit, miss.” He smiled, and his cheeks turned bright red. “Really umm nice and boob. . . I mean, I will just go now.” He turned around. “I can’t believe how big some people get.”
Beth turned around. “Oh, I can’t believe this. My breasts are big enough to be the bowling balls.”
Dex laughed. “Hey, come on. Sit down and enjoy the pizza.” He held up a slice. “It can’t all be bad.
She walked over and grabbed a slice, her breasts hitting Dex in the chest. “Hey, can you move?”
“Hey, this is kind of nice.”
She took a bite out of the piece of pizza. “It’s ok, I guess. Are we ever going to get to the actual bowing?”
Dex set his food down. “Of course we are.” He picked up his ball. “I will go first. Watch me.” He looked at the ball. “How exactly do we do this?”
She rolled her eyes. “You roll the ball down the lane and knock over the pins.”
“Right.” He threw the ball down the lane and immediately went into the gutter.
“There. I did it.” He smiled.
Beth turned her head. Well, at least we are finally bowling. I do want to finish this game quickly so we can get out of here. I don’t know why my body freaked out like this. But I still feel kind of weird. Beth sighed and scratched at her side, and I am incredibly thirsty. Nothing all day has quenched my thirst. I hate it.
