Sarah groaned as she rubbed her forehead. “Ughh. What happened?” She blinked her eyes as she pushed herself up. “Last thing I remember was some strange people trying to make parts of my body bigger? What kind of strange dream did I have?” She looked around the padded room. “Umm. . .” She ran her hands along the white walls. “What kind of prank is this?
Carien? Tess?” She turned around. “Don’t tell me this is you’re doing, Matt. You tracked me down, didn’t you, and locked me up in some old insane asylum. Well, when I get out of here. . .”
She clutched her ears as an ear-piercing sound filled the air. “Oh god.”
She fell onto the floor. “Make it stop!”
After a few moments, the ear bleeding sound came to an end. Sarah took a deep breath and leaned against the wall. “Thank god.”
Suddenly one of the small white panels in the room opened, and a tiny figure entered the room. Sarah pulled her legs close to her as she recognized the young man. “You!” She pointed at him. “Callen.”
Callen smiled. “Hello, Sarah. It has been what? A year.”
She sneered. “You snake!”
She tried to reach down and grab him, but the ear-piercing sound returned. “Ugh, make it stop.” She recoiled into the corner of the room.
Callen coughed into his mouth and waited for the room to become quiet again. “Now I wouldn’t go and try grabbing me again like that, Sarah. My friends here will make your life quite miserable.” He held his hand out in front of his face. “You see, they really, really hate giantesses.”
She looked down at him and crossed her arms. “I have noticed.” She sighed. “What do you want? I was content with you never coming into my life again.”
“What?” He paced back and forth as he looked up at her giant naked body. “I thought I treated you well.”
“Last time we met, you tried to use gas on me so you could kidnap me.”
Callen shook his head. “Hey, my boss is a very persuasive man. If I didn’t do what he. . .”
She slammed her hand against the wall. “I don’t care what Fredrick said. You shouldn’t have tried to kidnap me. I am not some giantess that you can just what?” She threw her arms up. “Keep in a facility and take out whenever you please? Is that what your company thinks of me?”
He sighed. “No, we don’t. Or they don’t. I wouldn’t know. I no longer represent Fredricks Fancy Incorporated anymore.” He adjusted his suit.
Sarah laughed. “You are kidding, right?”
Callen turned around. “Why?”
“I mean, someone who has been chasing me for who knows how long is no longer working for Fredricks Fancy?” She laughed. “I find it hard to believe.”
Callen sighed. “Look, having to deal with you disturbed me.” He looked down at the ground. “I helped make that company what it was so we could do good things. Fredrick is unhinged. Crazy.” He looked up at Sarah and narrowed his blue eyes. “You have every right to hate him.”
“You don’t have to tell me that.”
Callen turned around. “Well, there is some stuff you should know. It is why I arranged for this meeting.”
“You mean you sent those giantess hunting nut bags after me?” Sarah clenched her hands into fists. “You are lucky I don’t crush you where you stand right now.”
He laughed. “I am sure I am. But I didn’t know how else to get in touch with you. I mean, people who hate me are not going to come out and say hello to me on the street.” He crossed his arms. “And you even went into hiding from Fredricks Fancy, so how was I supposed to find you after getting a new job as a private security man?”
“You weren’t.”
He shrugged his shoulders. “Well, let’s just say I am meeting you for someone I believe is worth it. So put up with it.” He put his hands into his pockets. “Look, Fredrick will never stop hounding you in some way or some form. Before I left, I know he was looking into this Potion’s R Us store thing, but you need to realize he will never stop hounding you.”
“I think I figured that out. He is a creep.”
“It is more than that.” Callen reached into his back pocket and pulled out a phone.
“While Fredrick is a crazed man, he has a reason for it.” He pressed a button on his phone, and the room went dark. Sarah winced as strange images suddenly appeared on the wall across from her.
“What is this?” She looked at what appeared to be a young boy inside some kind of containment unit as his body constantly changed in size, each section of his body a different size than the other. “What is wrong with him?”
“That is Fredrick’s son. He has been like that for four years now.”
Sarah gasped. “What?” The screen went dark, and light flooded the room. “How can that be his son?”
Callen shook his head as he looked at the ground. “It is something that he only shares with his closest advisers. I knew about this as I was with him when he made the company. He was doing all of this to find a cure for his son. But that drive drove him insane.”
“What do you mean?”
He looked up at Sarah. “It was harmless at first. Just trying to study the human gene code. Then when nothing came from it, he started to go off the deep end. Drinking and such. Putting out strange products to get by. Then you and your weird size bending days happened.
He was so happy at first. Finally, he might be able to help his boy. But he needed money, so he made the company.” Callen sighed. “Once Fredricks Fancy was established, well, things went south.”
“What do you mean?”
Callen started to pace again. “I think it started after that day he saw you become over fifty feet tall at the park trying to call his products. Fredrick became obsessed with why his products affected you and no one else. It got to the point that he wanted me to bring you in. And when you accepted my job offer, he was so happy. Well, until.”
“Until?”
He sighed. “Until I wasn’t bringing you to him fast enough. He threatened my family if I didn’t do something. He told me to think of Jerry, and if something ever happened to him, the same would happen to my wife and kids. I was desperate when I tried to kidnap you. What I did was horrible, but you have to understand what Fredrick has done to me, and I assume he is doing to the people who work for him right now.” Sarah took a deep breath. “Shortly thereafter, I took my family and ran. I couldn’t take it anymore.”
Sarah sighed and looked at the wall. “If this is all true, then why seek me out today?
How do I know this isn’t a trap by Fredrick so he can experiment on me?”
Callen sighed. “I want to help his kid still. I have felt bad all these years that I haven’t been able to. I don’t think anyone should have to suffer like that.”
Sarah snorted. “So, you are saying I should help that monster, Fredrick?”
He shook his head. “No. I am saying help his son.” He lowered his voice. “And when you get a chance, squeeze Fredrick with your giant hands all you want. He deserves it.”
Sarah raised an eyebrow. “Are you even allowed to say that here? Aren’t you afraid your new buddies might throw you away for liking a giantess?”
Callen laughed. “I’m not that scared.” He turned around. “Tell you what. Want to make a deal?”
“What?”
“I get you and Carien out of here, and you help me with trying to help Fredricks kid. I promise you get to stomp on Fredrick as well.”
Sarah tapped her gigantic fingers on the padded ground. “If you can figure out a way to let me burst myself out of this crazy place, then I will hear you out.”
Callen smiled. “It’s a start.” He walked to the door. “Happy to see you again, Sarah. And I will see you in a bit.”
She rolled her eyes. “Doubtful.”
***
Callen walked through the corridors with his hands in his trousers. “How am I going to get her out of here?” He looked through the glass at a giantess chained to the wall as she slept soundly away in her cell. “This place is crazy. She is right to think I can’t help her.”
“So, did you and your friend have a nice chat?” Ben sneered as he walked up to Callen.
“Nice enough.”
Ben crossed his arms. “Well, I let you in there with her. You better hold up your end of the bargain. Unless you want me to throw you into a cell with one of these giantesses, we have yet to be able to shrink back down and let her have her way with you.”
Callen turned around. “Don’t worry. I will send you the funds you desire.”
“And let your employer Fredrick get us in touch with the authorities so we can track these giantesses down easier?”
Callen nodded his head. “Yes, yes.” He turned his head. “Don’t worry about a thing. It will all be taken care of. Your little organization is in good hands.”
Ben formed his hand into a fist. “It better be. Hunting down people who are affected by super moons from month to month is a pain in the ass. Especially when people think we are here to take them away. Us!” He ran his hands through his dark hair. “Why in the world would they think that? We are trying to help people. They shouldn’t have to put up with being the size of a house or apartment building. It just isn’t natural.”
Callen slowly nodded his head. “Right. Look, can you show me where you run this place? My boss would be very interested.”
Ben sighed. “Fine. Anything to speed this up.” He turned around. “This way.”
Callen followed him down the dark corridor. “Just make sure after that you contact your boss and tell him how pleasantly we have been doing business together.”
“Of course.”
Ben came to a small iron door almost four feet in height. “Considering we keep giantesses here; we need to ensure that our control room is secured.” He hit a button with his pinky finger on the wall, and the door opened, but only a space small enough for a child appeared. “The walls are made out of the hard volcanic rock, so unless she is willing to dig her way through the mountain and then through a thick layer of steel, she is going to have to go through this tiny little gap.”
Ben crawled inside, and Callen followed. On the other side, Callen gasped as he saw dozens of monitors with giantesses he didn’t even know in their cells and a control panel in the center of the room. “From here, we can monitor every giantess we have captured. From a change in heart rate to their mood, we can monitor here. All state of the art so we can know if and when they might shrink down, and we can send them back home.”
Callen looked at the ladies tied up to the walls like criminals and closed his eyes as he forced himself to speak. “Very nice, Ben. You have done a great job here.” He shivered.
“But if you can do all this, why do you need funding from Fredricks Fancy?”
“So, we don’t have to wait for them to shrink back down.” Ben slammed his hand onto the control panel. “So, we can shock their systems and force them out of being their giant selves.”
“Shock them?”
He nodded his head. “Of course. How else would you shrink a person?”
Ben slowly nodded his head. This guy is mad. But I need to keep him talking. “Right. How else do you shrink someone?”
“Exactly. You are much smarter than those fools I used to work for.” He crossed his arms and shook his head. “My ideas were going to hurt people, they said.” He put his hand on Callen’s shoulder. “But you understand what it takes to help people.”
“Of course.”
“So now that you have seen how we run things, let’s be off to where you can make that call to your boss Fredrick.” Ben turned around. “I will show you the way out.”
“Of course. After you.”
Callen waited for Ben to leave the room before he slammed the door shut. Ben’s eyes widened, and he twirled around. “What is the meaning of this?” He banged on the steel door. “Callen! Let me in at once.” He tried to open the door. “Why won’t this thing open?”
Callen laughed. “Fancy it that you make it so hard for people to get in from the outside that you never thought you would be locked out yourself.” Callen walked away from the door.
“Callen! Get out here, and I might consider letting our deal stay intact so you can leave this facility.”
Callen laughed as he walked over to the control panel. “Sure.” He examined all of the shiny buttons. “Now let’s see here.”
***
Sarah tapped her fingers on the side of her cell. “I am guessing they just sent Callen in here to torture me. Next time they do that, I am going to crush him. Piercing sound or no piercing sound.” She raised an eyebrow as the wall of her cell opened like a door, and she could see out into a dark cavern. “Huh?” She made her way to her feet. “What is going on here?”
Callen’s voice came over the speaker system. “Please make your way to the nearest exit. Thank you.”
Sarah scratched at her head. “You better not be screwing with me, Callen.” She walked to the open door. “If this is some kind of trick, I will make you wish you were never born.”
Multiple armed figures rushed into the hallway. “That fool let one of the giantesses out. Stop her!”
Sarah narrowed her eyes. “Not more of you freaks.” She sent them flying with a mighty kick. “I don’t have time to play catch the giantess today. I have to find Carien.” She looked back and forth. “But I have no idea where I even am.” She took a deep breath as she looked from one corridor to the other. “Ughh, screw it.” She took the path on her right. “Hopefully, Carien is this way.”
Sarah turned her head as she heard a pounding sound. “Hey, you!” Sarah’s eyes widened as she laid eyes on a gigantic woman almost forty feet taller than her. “Let me out of here, small fry.” She pulled at the chains which held her fast to the wall.”
“I am not small.” Sarah ran her hands along her body. “I am good fifty-plus feet tall.”
The lady in the cell laughed. “When you get to be over a hundred feet tall, I will not call you that. Now let me out.”
Sarah narrowed her eyes. “Sorry, I am looking for my friend.”
The woman pulled at her chains, her red hair falling in front of her face. “How dare you. I could crush you where you stand. You hear me. I am all-powerful, and you think you can disobey me?”
Sarah rolled her eyes. “I am not the one locked up in a cell right now. So, there is that.” She walked down the hallway.
“When I get out of here, I will make you and everyone else regret this. You hear me.
You will all bow down to me! The world and all of its tiny inhabitants will grovel to me once more!”
Sarah rubbed the bridge of her nose. “How could they lock me up in here with people like that?” She sighed. “I need to find Carien and fast before I meet one of the other lovely inmates.”
She turned a corner and watched as the workers ran in fear down the corridor. “Well, at least I don’t have to lift a finger anymore.” She laughed as she put her hands behind her head. “I try my best to be kind to people when I am big, but these people did lock me up.” She ran her fingers along the rocky ceiling. “Just where am I?”
“Sarah!?”
She looked down at the ground. “Carien! Is that you?”
Carien rushed along the ground towards her. “It is you. What are you doing?” She looked up at Sarah. “How did you even get out?”
Sarah knelt down and held out her hand so Carien could step on it. “Someone opened my cell. How did you shrink back down?”
“I woke up this way. I guess I was lucky.” She laughed as Sarah raised her into the air.
“Right.” Sarah rolled her eyes. “Lucky.”
“So, what are you doing?” Carien put her hands on her hips. “Everyone is terrified here that a giantess is on the loose.”
Sarah shook her head. “I can’t take it here. They put me in a cage like an animal, and I was the lucky one. I saw someone else locked up here, and these people are not doing a good thing. We are getting out of this madhouse.”
“But they told me. . .”
“I don’t care what they told you. We are leaving. They are locking people up just for changing in size, Carien. You have saved me from people who were less crazy than that.”
“I. . .ok ya.” She scratched at the back of her head as Sarah rushed down the dark corridor. “I guess it’s hard to know what is going on when you wake up in a nice room with fluffy pillows and good food.”
Sarah sneered. “We are going to have a talk on why I wish I was you when we break out of here.” She closed her eyes. “Hold on. I am knocking down that giant door ahead.”
Carien gasped. “That thing.” She pointed at the massive black steel door almost twice the size of Sarah. “I can’t watch.”
Ear piercing sires filled the air, but Sarah pressed on. “I won’t let your tricks stop me this time, giantess hunters. We are getting out of here.” Sarah’s eyes widened as the massive door began to open. “Huh?”
Callen’s voice came over the speaker system once more. “Think of it as a parting gift.
We will meet up again soon.”
“Who was that?” Carien asked.
“No one important.” Sarah ducked under the massive door and rushed out into the blinding light outside. “We are free. Ahhhh!” She came to a screeching halt as she almost ran off the side of a cliff. “Holy crap.”
Carien opened her eyes and looked over the side of Sarah’s fingers. “We are on the side of a mountain.”
Sarah gulped. “Great. I was hoping we wouldn’t still be hopelessly lost after we found our way out of there.” She looked down. “We live nowhere near any kind of blasted mountains.”
Carien crawled to the other side of Sarah’s hand. “Umm, look behind you, Sarah.” She pointed upward. “I think we are very, very lost.”
Sarah turned her head to see smoke rising from the top of the rocky surface. “We were being kept in a blasted volcano?” She shivered. “No wonder the place was so blasted hot.”
Carien rolled her eyes. “Talk about cliché.”
“Well, I have had enough of these jerks to last a lifetime.” She spotted a small dirt path that wound its way down the cliffside. “Let’s make our way down there and then ask someone where the blazes we are.”
Carien gulped as she spotted the winding path Sarah was talking about. “Your feet will barely fit on that road. So please be careful walking down.”
Sarah carefully stepped onto the dirt path. “It’s ok. I know what I’m doing.”
“Hey, the giantess is escaping!”
Carien turned her head. “Well, hurry up. Those crazy hunter people are coming.”
Sarah gulped as she took another step down. “I’m trying.” She grabbed onto a tree as her foot slipped. “But I am a tad too big for this.”
“Well, you need to hurry. I don’t think they are coming to bring you back in chains this time.”
Sarah narrowed her eyes. “You trying to egg me on isn’t helping me. I know I have to. . .” Her foot fell out from under her, and she tumbled down the mountainside. She tightened her grip on Carien to shield her as she tried to tuck into a ball. “Ahhh.” A few moments later, she collapsed on the ground in a thunderous heap, her body creating a massive creator. She groaned as she rubbed her side. “Ugh, my head.” She blinked her eyes. “Carien!”
She lifted her hand in front of her face. “Carien, are you alright?” She opened her fingers. “Speak to me.”
Carien shook her head. “I am fine.” She flipped her hair. “Just don’t do that again.” She cracked her back. “Ughh, sheesh.”
Sarah looked up. “Well, they are not going to follow us anytime soon. I kind of destroyed the road.” She winced as she saw her breast impression on the cliffside. “Ugh, I hope no one sees that.”
Carien rubbed at Sarah’s hand. “Can we get out of here now? Before those crazy hunter people figure out how to find us.”
“Umm, right.” Sarah took a moment to look up at the giantess hunter lair above them.
“What is it?”
“I was just thinking about the people still stuck in there.” Sarah sighed.
“It’s nothing. I guess I shouldn’t be too concerned after that crazy lady went off on me.” She stood up and turned towards the forest. “Let’s find out where we are and how we can get home.” I just hope Callen can do the same thing. After he helped me and Carien get out of there, I hope he isn’t trapped in there forever.
***
Callen smiled as he watched Sarah escape from the facility. “Well, at least she is safe.”
Ben continued to pound away at the door. “You can’t stay in there forever. Your giantess friend escaped, but you won’t. You are trapped like a rat.”
Callen laughed. “Oh, am I?” He tapped away on the control panel, and alarms sounded throughout the facility.
“What did you do?”
“Well, let’s just say I made controlling your little giantess prison a bit more interesting.” He sat back and smiled.
