A Raw Deal

Vess slammed her hand down onto the table as she looked at the paper in her hands. “This is absurd. How could I have ever signed something like this.” She threw her new contract to the side. “Ninety percent of my profits now go to that lying, cheating piece of shit, Red?”
She narrowed his eyes. “He is sooo going to pay for this. When I get my hands on him. . .”
She sighed and gripped the side of her counter. “But what can I do? The only way out of this is if I come up with a never-before-seen product. One that can alter someone’s size or shape.” She buried her head in her arms. “But what kind of nonsense is that. I can’t just make a new product like this out of thin air. The size-changing drinks I have I stole from the literal and mythical Wonderland. And as for my Pink Moon line, I well. . .” Vess rubbed her head on the porcelain counter. “I stole that too. Right out of some poor sod’s basement. Not sure why he was mixing it and such, but it has served me much better over the years.”
The door to her small shop suddenly opened. Vess raised her head and narrowed her eyes. “Umm, sorry, miss. We are currently closed.”
The young lady laughed. “Oh, my bad. I didn’t mean to. . .”
Vess walked out from behind the counter. “Hey, wait a minute. You work for Fredricks Fancy, don’t you.”
“Umm, what would give you that idea?” The woman gulped.
“Your jacket. I see all those fools go to that towering building at the other end of the park.”
“Ohhh.” She pulled on the collar of her suit. “Well, maybe I am. I just thought this was a coffee joint, is all. I will be going now.”
The woman’s briefcase suddenly opened, and a strange container fell onto the floor marked prototype. Vess crossed her arms. “What is that?”
The lady fell onto the ground around the strange cylinder object. “Oh, nothing.”
She brushed her dark hair to the side. “Please advert your eyes while I put this back into my umm. . . . yes.”
Vess tapped her fingers on the side of her arms. She had heard the rumors that Fredricks Fancy had stumbled upon something big. And by the way, this lady was acting in store over some kind of prototype only furthered Vess’s suspicions that whatever they were working on it had to be good. Maybe even good enough to help her out of the jam she was in. “Hold on. I will be right back.”
“No, no.” The young lady struggled to get the container back into her suitcase. “I will be but a moment.” She swore as the cylinder bounced around in her hands. “Oh, for fuck’s sake, why is this thing so slippery.” She slowly turned around as a shadow appeared around her. “Umm. . .”
Vess knocked the lady out with a baseball bat which she had on hand in case of intruders. “Sorry about this.” She picked up the cylinder. “But I think I can do more with this than your bosses.” Vess sighed as she looked down at the young woman. “Well, I best get you outside. I don’t need anyone asking me any foolish questions.”
After dragging the Fredricks Fancy employee into the back room, Vess examined the briefcase. “Ok, what do we have here?” She held the cylinder up in front of her face, feeling the cold metal between her fingers. “Hmm, what is this strange liquid? Hmmm. . .”
Vess spied some papers inside the briefcase, so she set the container down on the counter. “What do we have here?” She picked up the first parchment and scanned the contents. “Hmmm. . . trial sample of giantess blood twenty-seven. Looking to have a result other than changing the subject in size. If we can harness that, we could make a fortune. Prototype may be able to alter one’s physical shape. Bringing it to your desk for approval.”
Vess looked at the glowing junk on her checkout counter. “Change one’s physical form? Just what kind of nonsense are those Fredricks Fancy fools getting up to?”
She double-checked the parchment. “And did I read that right? This is a prototype based off of giantess blood? Where the hell did they get giantess blood? What the hell is giantess blood?” Vess took a deep breath. “I thought Red and his blueberry nonsense was bad, but now the Fredricks Fancy organization has an entire giantess hidden away? Yesh.”
After taking a deep breath, Vess picked up the container once more. “Ok.
So, I have something that can alter someone’s shape. But beyond that, I have zero idea what it will do. Hmmm. . .” She tapped her fingers on the side of the glass. “How should I figure out what this thing will do? I can’t very well sell it as a new product without knowing just what effects it might have on someone. I may be a bit of a shady businesswoman, but I am not that shady.” Vess closed her eyes. “Besides, I don’t need people trying to spread the word about the dark side of my shop. They come here for fun, to change in size and such. But the pink moon part of my shop, well. . . those buyers are return buyers by the will of the moon.” She giggled and then set the container down. “But that just leaves me one course of action.”
Vess reached into her pocket and pulled out her cell phone. “I wish it hadn’t come to this, but I don’t see any way out of it.” She dialed a number in her contacts and waited patiently for the phone to ring. A few moments later, a loud, feminine voice answered.
“Vess, honey. It has been soo, sooo long.”
“Kass. It has been what? Two years?”
“It feels just like yesterday, sis.”
“Adopted, sis.”
“Oh, pis posh. Just because we don’t share the same blood doesn’t make us any less family. You know that.”
“Look, Kass, can we just get to the point here?”
“Oh, come now. My sis calls me out of the blue, and you just want to get right to business?” Vess narrowed her eyes. “Come now. Let’s chat a while. Catch up a bit. Are you still trying to run that silly business?”
“Yes. I am still trying to run the business that I love. It is not silly. It is my dream. Dream you hear me.”
“Hey, now don’t get so defensive. It just seems a bit silly that you would risk so much on something that most likely won’t work out. That is all I meant.” Vess clenched her free hand into a fist. “You know most small business’s go under right. I just want you to be able to take care of yourself now that mom isn’t around. I won’t always be able to. . .”
“Look, can we get onto why I called?” Vess took a deep breath and gulped. “I need your help, Kass.”
“Oh, you do?” Vess pulled the phone away as there was a loud cheer on the other end of the line. “I have been waiting for this day to come. My little sis needs me. I told you that you would need me. Did you listen? No. You said you could take care of yourself. That my health wasn’t worth your valuable time. Well, the tables have turned, haven’t they.”
Vess narrowed her eyes and held her hand over the phone. “I hope this thing turns you into a toad.” She then forced a smile and spoke once again to her sister. “Yes, Kass. I need some help with the business. Can you drive over here?”
“Be there before you know it. In fact, don’t blink, as I might pop out of thin air and scare you. Love you.” The line suddenly went dead.
Vess sat down in a nearby chair. “Well, great. It’s not going to be fun, but I have my test subject. Hopefully, whatever she turns into will be something without a mouth.”
She closed her eyes. “Or if she does have a mouth, she won’t be able to speak anything I can understand. Ughhh. Kass can be so annoying. But I am willing to put up with it to get out of this business arrangement with Red. I am not going to let him own me. No way, no how.”

A few hours later, just as the moon started its ascent, Kass walked into the Pink Moon Abtorium. “Hello. Vess? It’s me. Kass. Your healthy curvy loving sister.”
Vess raised her head from her seat behind the counter to see her sister. “Kass?”
She watched as Kass danced around, her round hips bouncing against the shelves, causing the containers of Wonderland juice to wobble. “You have gotten umm. . .”
Kass giggled. “You can say it. Curvy.” She walked over to where Vess was sitting. “I know, I know I put on some weight. But I love my new frame.” She rubbed her hips. “More of me to love, right?”
“Umm, sure.” Vess shrugged.
Kass tapped her fingers on the side of the counter. “So, what does my poor unfortunate sister need me to do?” She turned around and examined the store. “Hmm, I see you need some work around here, right? The ceiling ties are about to fall out, and ugh, yuck. Is that a dead rat in the corner over there?”
“Kass!”
Kass spun around. “Yes?”
Vess took a deep breath. “Look, I hate to say this, but I am in a rough spot.”
Kass snapped her fingers. “I knew it. You need me to bail you out. How much money do you need.”
Vess shook her hands. “What, no.” She sighed. “Look, I just need someone to test a new product. That is all, I swear.”
“Test a new product? Why is this of such dire importance?”
“Just trust me. You will be doing me the biggest favor you ever could.” She took her sister’s hands into her own. “Helping pull my business out of the clutches of bankruptcy by testing this new product. I need to make sure people will like it.” Vess closed her eyes. “I mean don’t you want to help decide if my small business lives or dies?”
Kass squealed. “Ohhh my. Yes, yes. A thousand times, yes. If it turns out I help you, then you can give me your undying praise. And if it turns out that I failed, then I can set you on the right track in life. Oh boy, this is a win-win. Mother would be so proud.”
Vess snorted. “Your mother, perhaps.”
Kass raised an eyebrow. “What was that?”
“Oh, nothing.” Vess pulled out the container from below the countertop. “Ok, so are you ready?”
“Oh yes. Yes.”
“Good.” Vess screwed off the top of the container. “Well, I will get you a cup, and just tell me how this tastes, ok.”
Her sister scratched at her chin. “Umm, I don’t mean to pry into your business but just what is it that you are trying to make here? Some new fanged soda drink?”
Vess walked across the room, searching for an empty cup. “Umm, yes.
I am looking to discover a new hit flavor. Get people talking and come into the shop.”
“Ohhh. . .” Her sister shrugged her shoulders. “I guess that is one way to go about getting people to come into this dingy little place. Not focus on cleaning it up or anything. But what do I know?”
Vess clutched her fingers around the plastic cup and took a deep breath. I hope my sister transforms quickly from this shit. I can’t take her nonsense. She forced a smile and walked back over to where her sister was waiting. “Oh, I think it will work out wonderfully.” She filled the cup with the strange liquid and handed it to her sister. “Here you are.”
Kass smiled. “Well then. I just hope this is better than it looks.” She closed her eyes and drank the contents. “Ughhhh. That is gross.”
“Sorry. I will remember to fix that.”
Her sister threw the cup onto the ground. “If this is your last-ditch effort to save your business, well, I can say right now it is a pretty pathetic attempt. It tasted like. . . like.” She tapped her finger on her chin. “Honestly, like rubber. How did you even get that taste into a drink? I will give you some credit for that.” Kass shivered. “Phew, I do feel hot all of a sudden.”
“Hot, you say?”
Kass threw her arms into the air. “Yes, hot. I don’t know why that is such a revelation to you. I am sweating.” Suddenly Kass’s breasts swelled, causing the buttons on her blouse to pop off. “Goodness.”
Vess’s eyes widened. “Oh my.”
Kass shook her head. “Vess. What did you do to me?” She grabbed her hips as her body vibrated. “I feel so weird.” Her waistline widened as her limbs shrank into her body. “Vess!”
Vess smiled and sat down in the nearby chair. “Sorry. You said you wanted to help. This is all for my business.”
“Business? What kind of store do you run here?” Kass fell onto the ground. “Ughh, what is going on with my body?” She slipped out of her leggings as her legs retracted into her body. “What happened to my legs.”
“I have never seen anything like this before.”
Kass shook her head. “I think I’m shrinking.” She looked upward. “Ughh, everything feels so ughhh.” Her breasts and ass continued to swell as her body started to take on a familiar shape. “Hey!” Kass gulped as she slipped out of her shirt and her body began to flatten out. “I look like a mouse pad. In fact, my skin is starting to turn silver.”
Vess knelt down and ran her fingers along Kass’s body, feeling the fuzz and rubber. “Yes. Yes, you are.” She smirked as she watched Kass’s breasts expanded into the armrests and her ass flattened out into the pad. “Aww you look cute.”
“Cute?” Her face began to meld into the fabric. “I will show you cute when I get out of this. Vesssss!”
Vess knelt down and picked up the sexy-looking mouse pad. “Well then. I do have to say it works.” She ran her fingers along the curvy features. “I am sure some people will just love to spice up their nights with these kinds of products. Or, I guess, other types of things. I don’t judge.” Vess smiled. “And better yet, this is a brand new type of transformation. A mouse pad for a computer. I am sure that is enough to get me out of this contract with Red. And if I can do this, who knows what other kinds of interesting things I could turn people into.”
She set her sister down on the counter. “Now let’s see here. Will you turn back, Kass?” She picked up the prototype’s instructions. “Hmm. It is expected that the effects are only temporary. But there is a very, very slight chance that they will be permanent.” Vess giggled. “Well, let’s hope that you won’t be a mouse pad forever. But if you are well, at least you won’t be bothering me anymore.” She picked up Kass. “Because if there is one thing, I can’t stand is you trying to tell me how to live.”
