[Removed for Amazon] Quest Academy: Book 4 (Chapter 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20)

Hey Everyone,

Edits were submitted today for Book 3, so that's a massive relief. Got a few chapters done, so enjoy these five. Really appreciated all the comments and observations over the last few chapters. I agree with the statement that Sal wouldn't have been doing nothing for two weeks, but I needed the time-skip to move things towards the Gala (Which is coming up soon) - You'll see what he was working on in the mean time. :)

I'll be putting up a Poll later tonight or tomorrow asking for your help. Daniel Wisniewski that does the Audiobook is putting Scavengers forward for an award and asked for the best 5 minute scene in Book 2. I honest to god can't even remember my own book, so I thought I'd ask the readers / listeners of the group. The things I think are good aren't always what resonate with readers, so hopefully you can suggest a few thoughts, and I'll take the options and make a poll for it!

Lastly, I'm heading to DragonCon as you all know... and I've started looking at some fun little merchandise things for Quest Academy. I'll share the finished product when it arrives, but it'll definitely be an acquired taste for sure. :D

Hope you enjoy the chapters, let me know what you think!

Brian

Comments

I would like to see Sal marrying with Divinity though ,im still optimistic lol

Sango

Both are Italian families and the translation would be Peter Silver, as that's Petro Argento. Silverson Group is run by the Silver family.

Brian J. Nordon

Chapter 17- "The Macaluso family thought it would be easier to do business with an easier to write surname so they changed it to Maccles. Probably why Fabrizia goes by Fabi... Maurizio changed his own to Maurice for simplicity. Personally, I'm grateful your father didn't try the same crap. I would not have married a man called Peter Silver." Book 4 the First Mention of the Name Silverson is in Chapter 55. Just Curious if I Missed a Previous Mention of Petro's Real Name or If Soph. Was Slacking and Got Lucky Sal Didn't Pick it Up..?

Garrett Dutton

At this point I'm kinda hoping he does end up married to Fabi and I haven't even met her yet (neither has he) lol.

Fortunis

Chapter 16 is a cop out, I'm sorry but that's how I feel about it.

ShadowOfHavoc

Are we going to get the next batch of chapters today, I am getting a bit anxious to see the next bit of the story…

Raymond Mouton

Maybe, I am looking forward to it and see what happens… I think it gets harder to effectively control people the better their control with their powers get. In the worst scenario Erica will kill somebody, well we’ll see…

Benjamin Hartmann

On the other hand, they are in a war, and need an obscene amount of weapons, it could just be a drop in a bucket.

Alteron

Erica's ability is a known and tested/accepted ability, they understand how it works and they know what it does. Sal's power is new and they don't know the long term effects, if any. Which means they're wanting to run tests to make sure it doesn't have any long term consequences as messing with someone's weave would worry anyone with a power, knowing someone could come along and adjust it, make it worse, remove it, etc. Does it mean Erica isn't a terrible person for the way she treats everyone other than herself? No.

Deko

I am guessing that people have had her abilities before, so they are a know quantity.

Alteron

I can’t stop thinking about the double standard between Sal’s and Erica’s ability. Sal has to prove that he doesn’t hurt others when he uses his power but Erica is free to do whatever… Doesn’t she has to prove to be a good and emphatic person to mind control others?

Benjamin Hartmann

We know very little of the machine. How much can it produce? How capable would it be in giving 1000 yearly new students plus all in the hunter bureau a full set of armor? If it uses one day to craft rare stuff, instead of 2 months like the 2nd year students, it is obvious that it won’t be sufficient by itself. In addition, would there be much overhead cost - how much extra essence to run the machine? One of the main points of having students produce growth armor, was to have a clear path progression for the support kids while creating something of value.

NiceTryMate

Well it would only make the recipes that Sal put in, someone could make other stuff

Alteron

wouldn't that be worse in a way, consider the only legendcraft is doc amaye(sp?) and he's considered literally a legendary figure among crafters, he can craft up to legendary, and all other crafters therefore can only make items less than legendary, it would be expensive sure, but it also means all those crafters who make their 'magnum opus' will be overshadowed by a vending machine

T W

What if he did it the other way around, epic and up, so very expensive and exclusive.

Alteron

I have binged all the books back to back, and read up to the final chapter here, and I have really enjoyed it - I do agree with the sentiment that i find it hard to believe sal would want to automate gear as it would destroy lower level crafters which he has tried / and made strides to help If you refer to the conversations with Chatfield where his blueprints would be used by other students to create gear to outfit the whole academy and both provide a path for crafters to succeed and not just drop out - vs if there is just a vending machine where they walk up to and tada they have their uniform effectively destroying the livelihoods of most support classes, and this is even more apparent when you consider he wants to start a support based guild that rivals the best, he'd be shooting himself in the foot to then destroy all the up n coming supports

T W

Perfect being very undefined in its effect makes it difficult to say but at the moment it seems impossible. For the automatic device it would make sense as it is straight forward to perfect ingredients or potions etc.. but the skill seems to only work when something enters his body to perfect as he can only turn it on and off so he can’t use it to perfect the potion in the bottle only when drinking. For gear that means perfect can enhance inherent gear skills but not attach the skill to a person

Frilas Gilneas

Point 6, i believe he learned to only drain at 20% of what people can give

Alteron

Well if he could make rings that give the Perfect effect.. But it would probably destroy the story at the moment.

Alteron

Actually, Divinity's future where she was alone was something she saw long before she met Sal. She was unlikely to see a future where he played such a big role before she met him as she has to have an anchor for her visions and she appears to be using him as her anchor now. She now has a future that she is following and hopeful for, but we don't know if she is still alone in that future.

Sam

I later realised that there was an entire book 3 to read on Patreon - smashed through that in the past 5 days 😁

OffBy0x01

There exist schools of thought in other safe zones around the world…that don’t believe in us getting skills to fight the demons. They believe our abilities are afflictions and see all of this as some form of divine retribution. Acts of God and all that. From Quest Academy Silvers

Alteron

Just catching up with everything on your Patreon now. Haven’t read these yet but they are up next! I have to say thanks very much for your storytelling, it’s fun, engaging, and scratches an itch in my brain that few others do. (I also, actually, weirdly like the Patreon release format, so I will likely be staying!). With that out of the way, I do have some notes/questions which are intended only as constructive criticism/thoughts. Please do ignore if they aren’t welcome, aren’t representative of the other feedback you are getting, or you’re simply not in the mood! In no particular order: 1) The whole oblivious Sal RE Divinity thing is literally painful to me. He’s crazy intelligent, emotionally savvy (at least, auctioneer Sal is savvy, the dichotomy/dual personality here is a little weird), and he’s quite insightful. Moreover, the crowbarring of other love interest we’ve yet to meet feels ridiculously artificial to me, both narratively and in terms of character behaviours. I don’t know what you are going for here - but in some ways, it feels like you hard pivoted somewhere and I got whiplash. I’d say finger’s x’d for a poly, but I’d probably be shanked by the harem haters. 2) The whole printer thing will surely put all of his crafting friends out of business… no longer any need for supports, no? Doesn’t that hugely undermine his objectives? In fact, with readily available equipment that is ‘good’, the need for combat supports will also drop considerably IMO. 3) The scavengers book had very little scavenging in it… felt like a weird book title! Wasn’t all the scavenging in book 3?! 4) There were some issues with status screen (i.e. observe) consistency in the book 3 chapters I read here. (Scavenger’s guild reward tiers I think, also referenced in text somewhere). I assume you’ve fixed them pre-amazon, but worth double checking. 5) Some of the more recent info dumps on how crafting works feels like something of a forced retcon due to the inconsistencies between Sal making a Legendary evolving sniper rifle day 1 and now a need to add difficulty back in? That might just be me though honestly. 6) The essence ‘drain’ done by the badly crafted shirt is a mechanic that’s sort of been lost in the wash. How come some of these higher end gears aren’t ’too draining’ to wear for newbies? Does this interact with essence gates? 7) Whilst the depth of the crafting and ‘progression’ are what itches my brain, I can’t help feeling he keeps forgetting friendships and just being a shit person to his peers. I get that he’s a little on the spectrum (except, again, when he’s magically a charismatic auctioneer and team lead), but as good as Sal is at crafting, I don’t see why his friendships stay so true from the information we have. Just dropping a little ‘After spending some time catching up with his friends on the phone (do phones exist now?), Sal went back to crafting’ would help undo the issue for me. The whole dangling Hannah fiasco is a prime example of this.

Jonathan Smith

I believe a little confusion has been created overall with his priority's. the automatic crafting thing he builds now is based on the idea that he needs money and this can print money for him. then there is the elixir one which should 100% be what he makes after the gear automaton as those elixirs are for him and seem to let him disable skill limitations far surpassing what his skills can do. Creating and perfecting skills is what has the most drastic effect on the future and right now is probably the part where he learns the skills he needs to build a real skill machine that lets him work with more skills like body enhancers which need more then the torso and doesn't take days to calculate if he creates a new skill or so drastically enhancing the speed he can work on. Perfect is a little unclear how it works in the last chapters we had him talking about stuff it can not do which it did in book 3 already and should be the go to skill for all saviors who can take it to enhance them overall and prevent skill deteriorating in the first place which is what happened to Sal's father just couple chapters ago

Frilas Gilneas

In order to open up new branches of the future he needs inventions that are paradigm shifting... gun vending machines are fine but they arent going to compare to skills like perfect. Creating another skill or even a device that passively (slowly) unknots others' weaves might be enough tho? Maybe thats how perfect works for people who dont already have perfect weaves?

Sean Shivers

divinity was talking about a specific future where he an fabi get married and while i understand that it is an open question if its true or not after book 1 divinity's character changed dramatically where currently the only consistent is that she is trying to push sal into a specific future in which she is alone, as this is something she said very early on that the futures she keeps track of all end with here being alone.

Frilas Gilneas

He's saying the tunnels increased the price of the property because the Hunters Bureau had to reinforce them to make sure they were stable. Strengthen the tunnel exits because they lead directly to the red zone. So you need to make sure demons can't break into them should the barrier malfunction. And they had to clear out the monsters that were inside the tunnels when the land was reclaimed. Why should the Hunter Bureau suffer the cost of doing all that work when they can do it, and then charge Sal for it when he buys the building?

Darnell Maxwell

Oh they do take Q Cred. Sal just isn't allowed to spend Q Cred on himself for non school related things. This is not an actual rule that the school enforces. This only exists on the list of rules Sal subconsciously follows because of who he is. It's right after "don't tell my friends about my problems and insecurities because it will only burden them" but right before "I'm allowed to spend hundreds of q cred on equipment for my friends and they don't have to pay me back. But if they do anything for me I need to pay them back tenfold or else I'll feel indebted to them and drown myself in an ocean of guilt".

Darnell Maxwell

It's just you. She very much did the opposite. It's just that Sal's team is so strong that it looks like they were perfectly suited to beat the tower. It'd be like if the Justice League entered the Olympics and they signed Superman for every event. Superman isn't perfectly suited for every event. He's just so powerful that you'd need to make him where a kryptonite medal for any of the challenges to give him any difficulty. That's why she literally had to bench members of their team every round and ban both Gallant and Erika from using their powers. If she hadn't they'd have blown through the whole tower in 2 hours.

Darnell Maxwell

Part 1 ends with Divinity getting the crown and being ranked #1 in the school after the tournament. Part 2 ends with Sal being getting his arms shattered by Erica and then staring at his stats in the mirror.

Darnell Maxwell

Yeah I got no argument for that. She really should have followed up with him. I forgot Upgrade was there when the dude scanned Sal and told him about the spirit thing. Chetfield is ruthless so I understand why he didn't bother to follow up.

Darnell Maxwell

This is how I see it. In America there are 50 states. 15 states are safe zones with reinforced barriers. Each state has a city inside of it like where Sal lives. Some really big states like Florida or Texas might have two cities. However there are a few smaller settlements in these states closer to the edges of the barrier. These are the recently reclaimed sections. They sell property there for cheap so that businesses can grow, people can move there, etc. Then when alot of people move their, the guild taxes the people heavily to build a more reinforced around the area to turn it into a city that will hopefully grow as much as Sal's city.

Darnell Maxwell

I might need to review those first chapters again, but iirc, skill imprinting is a new process and Sal's year was the first class to enter with getting a free imprint, with any additional ones being locked behind paying for them, or joining the Saviours. Depending on how screwed up her weave is, Sal unknotting it enough for her to use, even slightly, may be too much for her or her gates. The perfect skill may help her improve herself or her gates enough to use her skill, though.

Rielgesh

the whole fabi thing is divinty talking about 1 specific future and she never said that the one she showed Sal is that one only that it is here favorite future because it is the brightest right now. the only time she made a broad statement was when she said that she ends up alone in all futures she keeps track of.

Frilas Gilneas

why even imprint the skill she has let her imprint Perfect and Sal fix here weave so far she can actually use the skill a little and problem solved. Actually putting that aside she should be getting 2 skills anyway since she can not use here weave in any way she could not have registered any skill when she entered the academy at which point everybody else got there skill imprinted

Frilas Gilneas

while the action itself was rather drastic and i am not a big fan of both how upgrades character was destroyed for it and upgrade and chatfield specifically went out of there way to inflict the trauma of being abandoned in a dungeon to him your reasoning is of here for your 2). after they did the dungeon the guy at the entrance specifically told them that his spirit is way to low and by this point upgrade should now him enough to know he can not deal with that alone and yet she decided to do nothing! and i mean nothing she didn't even bother to check in on him no amount of wanting to give him space can make up for that.

Frilas Gilneas

Sal's gonna be a guild master. Even if he and Fabi don't see it that way. There's a good chance the other members of his guild will. His friends won't because they know he's too...(what's the word... stupid, naive, short-sighted, dense) innocent to view it like that. But what Ana Sakura or other third years she brings with her that don't know Sal personally? That'd be like if in Iron Man 1. Pepper was a barista at Starbucks while being paralyzed from the waist down. She then takes one look at Tony when he walks in, ignores his order, and gives him the greatest cup of coffee he's ever had. So in response. He hires her as his head of PR, makes her an implant that allows her walk again and ends up trying to date her. That doesn't sound like a power imbalance to you? Hell, I'm a cisgender straight man. But if Ryan Reynolds showed up on my doorstep and offered me my dream super power. Then I'd turn into Bart Simpson immediately. Whatever he may ask for, "I'm prepared to make that sacrifice. You don't want to know how far I'll go."

Darnell Maxwell

Im a little lost. Other cities? Are there other cities in the same safe zone?

Maakolo

It doesnt have to be like that. They could just grow closer while working together.

Maakolo

Hey..:-)… Fabi may go after him. Sal does not seem aggressive when it comes to women. And .. you never know.. the meeting with ARC maybe the last incentive he needs to get his guild going.. I can see Robert cutting him a deal

Heather Herren

They do make a good team

Alteron

I am guessing here, but think the price are for cleaning the tunnels so you have connection to the rest of the train lines.

Alteron

Perfect, thank you. I'll change that in the main manuscript

James Northman

Chapter 17 talking about a former employee

Stephen Ross

You're correct. Do you remember where I mixed that one up?

James Northman

I really want to see Sal and Divinity together building a guild. I know she told him Fabi which may end up being the 'lie', but I hope it doesn't drag on for numerous books before divinity and sal do get together if they do.

Travis

I don’t understand the tunnels and how they introduce a big upfront cost for that property? I get that’s it’s smart to sanitise and make them safe to continue to grow the business but why does that have to be done now by the hunters bureau and not later as an exercise for his fighty members of his guild? I mean the warehouse and shops must be secure at the moment right?

Robert Smart

I don’t understand. Does the hunter bureau not take q-cred? Wouldn’t that make things significantly more manageable?

Sloth

Barry can just take one for the team.

The Foolish One

Poor divinity, she’s just doomed to be unhappy

Sye Olmstead

I'm fine with the transition but it does feel like the page break obscures the spacing which would have made it more obvious

Sean Shivers

Does anyone feel like there's a paragraph missing in chapter 17 between page two and three? Just a really sudden transition transition with not much note of the end of the previous conversation or start of the next one.

jackalsclaw

I really like the direction this book is going in - especially setting up aspirational goals for the future. Whilst I enjoyed book 2, it was the crafting, scheming, and discovery in book 1 that got me so hooked. Glad to see such focus on it again.

OffBy0x01

If Sal does end up dating this Fabi girl then this relationship is going to be complicated as fuck and I don't envy the authors situation. Sal has already perfected her weave and is now looking to have her join his guild. At this rate it'll be difficult to make it look like she's not just dating him out of guilt or peer pressure after everything he's done for her. Similar to how Sal never really saw Hannah as his girlfriend because she just slept with him as a thank you for the gloves. And even tried to put up boundaries afterward.

Darnell Maxwell

I disagree for two reasons. 1) Sal would eventually have to go into a dungeon at some point during his time at Quest Academy. She just simply moved up the time table. Even if she hadn't brought him to a dungeon that day, he still would have been forced to face a demon in book three during the tower run. He would have just been extremely unprepared. Vanessa on the other hand could theoretically be a part of a guild and never have sex with anyone inside of it. 2) She didn't bail on him. He chose to actively avoid the workshop and talking to her. And she chose to give him space. I'm sure if she knew he was having nightmares she would have told Quest. Who would then have recommended he talk with the resilience hero sooner. I see it less like Vanessa's situation and more like. Your friend just told you they got a job on a fishing boat in the middle of the ocean. But you know that they can't swim because they are terrified of large bodies of water. So you throw them into a 10ft pool to help them get over there fear. Your not trying to take advantage of them. Your trying to prepare them for a very likely scenario in their future because you care about them. It's mostly about the intent for me.

Darnell Maxwell

Doesn’t repair evolve into invention then upgrade and evolve or at least that what it said earlier

Stephen Ross

See, I always hated what upgrade did. She literally did what was done to Vanessa, used her position and relationship against him. Then bailed after seriously traumatizing him.

Charles Gillentine

Is it just me, or does it seem like prestige armed that team to deal with that tower specifically

Charles Gillentine

Mythic even...

Charles Gillentine

1) It doesn't matter who can use the item the best. Erika can probably use the crown better than Divinity. Doesn't mean Sal is gonna give it to her, or make Erika a copy. 2) She's not a top healer. She's literally the weakest healer we've seen in the books. The coat allows her to perform like a top healer. 3) The point of the coat was to increase Sal's essence reserve while including his fun grappling hook idea. And more importantly, it was a way for Upgrade to thank Sal for working so hard on Fabi's weave. And from the looks of it, he's never gonna even try the thing on. If Upgrade takes no issue with this outcome, then I won't make any further complaints about it. I just know that I would be hurt if I spent hours of my life working hard to build something for my friend. And they gave it to their co-worker the very next day without ever using it. 4) (This last bit is more of a pet peeve of mine so feel free to ignore everything beyond this point.) It just urks me that Sal is putting all of these resources into random students for little to no return. And then feels like he needs to keep helping them until he makes sure they become a savior. Specifically I just want a clear picture of who he wants to help and how determined he is to make sure they succeed. At first I thought it was just his friends. That's why he made the gloves for Hannah and crown for Divinity. But then there's Kane who held the elevator for him on the first day. While he made the gloves for Hannah, Sal never made any effort to catch up with Kane. Maybe copy a healing ability to help heal his legs? Or hell just talk to him again. They literally sit next to eachother in administration. Then I thought it was people on his team. But Sal never seeks out or tries to boost up Anthony and Jack. He worked with his team to win the tournament and then just forgot about them. Anthony at least got to keep the sword, but Blothnaid got an ability boost and Barry got a whole new armor. What about Jack? Hell it's even worse because Jack is actually helping Sal! Those new runes that Blothnaid uses in her and Sal's team outfits were from Jack. Yet Sal doesn't offer Jack help or ask him for his input on the new designs. Now he's helping Rochelle and accidentally made a cure for Gallant. Which adds to my team idea, but then what about Ioseph!? And don't even get me started on Melanie who he just completey forgot existed. Like cmon Sal, give me some consistency here.

Darnell Maxwell

I don’t even think the author knows who Sal ends up with. His narrative has been following different threads lately. Sal hardly contacts his friends. He’s a homebody workaholic who doesn’t like facing his problems. His recent relationship crash out with Hannah has definitely left some scars. If anything I feel like Sals focus on building the Guild is to live up to what Divinity showed him. Divinity frightens Sal emotionally because she unintentionally forces him to be his best self even when he feels like a fake. If Sal overcomes his feelings of inadequacy He will face his feelings for Divinity and ask her out on a date and boom forever together. If he wallows in self doubt Fabi will be there to pull him out of the pit and be the person he needs to give him confidence. Sal is her hero after all. He fixed her weave and so she will NEVER leave his side. Divinity knows she can’t do the same because Sal would think she is manipulating him. Anyway this is just me theory crafting character motivations.

Pararably

Awesome chapters!! Love how Petro really knows Sal!!

Heather Herren

Buttering up the father in law before he even dates the daughter. That’s a life hack if I ever saw one.

Grakyn

Off the top of my head, the tense scenes where Sal is first finding out they’re being raided and the group chat, and the one where they fail with the fort are the big scene, but I’ve never looked at it from a performance aspect.

Andrew Tobin

Okay. I'm only on chapter 17 buy we need to meet this Fabi person already! 1. I feel bad for her not having her super cool ability 2. Everyone keeps talking about her even in book 1 3. I want to know how she will fit in with the group 4. Everyone Keeps Bringing Her Up! Let us see her!

C

The chapters are great. Thanks.

Chris Hoopes

Great chapters! Arigato.

Naotsugu97

Thanks for the chapters, can’t wait to see Sal build Argento Plaza

Spud

I think I prefer Fabatore over Fabal, but I still have a feeling that Barry ends up with Victoria and Divinity only ever sees a future where she and Sal end up together after he has a relationship with Fabi first. It might be manipulative/selfish to push him down a path where he may end up with her, but Divinity is so selfless that I really want her to end up happy in the end. I could also be completely wrong, maybe she ends up with Barry or Harold Gunn

Spud

I think Petro is my new fav character in the series, I also like the way him and Sal are together. Its nice to see a good family dynamic that a lot of authors don't put in.

John Curtis

Thanks for the great chapters.

Tim Walloch

Rochelle is probably the best person to use the coat, and Sal can always make another coat. The coat also goes down in value if you have all the essence gates open which he can do with Perfect already (it hasn’t been stated yet if the breathing technique still requires opening the gates). Using the coat as a sign on bonus to join the guild for a potential top healer doesn’t seem like a waste to me. Additionally he could make it part of the guild armory (like Barry’s armor) and get a percentage of her future earnings in exchange for using it.

Spud

She's playing the long game. She knows what happens if she dates him before Fabi and if Fabi dates him before her. She wants to be the real thing not the trainer relationship.

R. Maxwell Steele

Chapter 19 "this gigantic empty space had a clearance the side of the workshop in Quest Academy. " Did you mean "size" instead of "side"? Otherwise, I'm not sure what this meant.

Koral

True, keep thinking the skill implants are going to be end of the year things, didn't think they may be substantially sooner for the higher years.

Rielgesh

Well there was the heavy hint they are close to applying the template - and I doubt they do it without Sal being involved to make sure it takes property.

Daniel Sifrit

The commercial empire these two families are going to make will be simply legendary

Aaron edison

My issue is how far Sal is going with this. And most of the time it's wildly unnecessary. Sal could have used like three to five prowler cores, put self replenishment runes on them and slapped them into a rare necklace. That would have been more than enough for Rochelle to join him. Instead he gave her a legendary coat that does the same thing the necklace would have done. Only it's far more expensive and puts her in a position where she doesn't need to join Sal's guild. Blothnaid is the same. Where he helped fix her weave, gave her blueprints, introduced her to upgrade. To where she now doesn't even want to join his guild and would rather make a name for herself instead of just relying on him. I find it especially strange because he will pull out all the stops for people like Rochelle and Blothnaid. But only offers a unique piece of gear he didn't even make for Ana Sakura. A Saviour about to graduate who could greatly help his guild rise in the tiers if he snatches her up rn.

Darnell Maxwell

Loved these chapters. Their family dynamic is wonderful. It’s great to have a main character without the whole childhood trauma that so many authors apparently feel is needed.

Dawn Zeleznik

He wants people for his guild more than money/items.

R. Maxwell Steele

This is great. I like the way you are introducing Fabi. The fact that they somewhat grew up together and the parents are friends is wonderful. I also was hoping that Sal and Divinity would get together but Sal's logic is sound. Bring on the gala!!!!

Ron Blondeau

God I love Sal's parents.

Darnell Maxwell

I can't wait for him to complete this vending machine. It's always bothered me that he keeps spending thousands of q-cred and millions of dollars on his allies only to get a thank you in return. I don't think they are taking advantage of him, but Sal is trying to make a guild. Which is ridiculously expensive. Yet here he is casually giving away a legendary coat to the healer on his temporary team. (We all know he's not getting that coat back.) Now with the vending machine and his parent's help. I'm hoping he'll gain enough funds to warrant how frugal he can be with just handing out expensive equipment and expecting nothing in return. I also think that fact that he's a merchant and should thus be very aware of how much money he's burning doesn't help.

Darnell Maxwell

I guess I’m going to have to let go of the Salvinity Hope… but Fabal might be alright. Depends on the kind Personality you give her?

Pararably

Love the chapters!! Can’t wait for the gala. Nice to see him looking for a guild headquarters. Really interesting foreshadowing for whether or not Fabi is Sal’s future wife. Can’t wait for next Monday.

Aidan Zimmerman

My favorite chapter from Scavengers is Chapter 57 – Construct, but just choosing 5 min. from it is hard.

Alteron

Thanks for the chapters!

Thomas Todd

Good chapters, a change of venue that lets us explore the world Sal lives in.

Alteron

Tftcs! Ngl, was hoping Sal would at least see Fabi at some point, especially after the shared childhood reveal, and then going to the materials store, but I can understand you probably have an idea already for the introduction! Looking forward to it!

Rielgesh

Easy, when Erika takes over his body. The voice acting's great, so is the palpable fear Sal has when he realises Erika is about to cripple him just for this competition. Now if you don't want to use such a spoiler heavy scene like that. Then I'd go with when Upgrade tells him thats she's gonna take him into the dungeon. Not the start of the scene because I think that's more than 5 minutes. Specifically when she's working on the bullets and tells him that there's no way out of this. Only for Chatfield to walk in and Sal throws a hill mary hopeing Chatfield will stop this. Only for the man to simply ask which dungeon she wants cause he'll set it up. Whether you've finished book one or not heard anything about this series. I believe there's enough context in that scene to get across the purpose of the book. Book 1 is Sal discovering his potential. Book 2 is him struggling to live up to that potential despite his fear of demons and poor social skills getting in the way. While Book 3 is him conquering those issues and showing everyone at Quest Academy just how far he's come. And thus how far he'll be able to go.

Darnell Maxwell

But the absolute best thing you could get if you can find them would be quest academy badge holders for the DragonCon badges!! Everyone see the badges all the time so if you can protect them and advertise at the same time double score!!

Kenneth Darlin

Yeah I completely lost the ability to remember individual books when I started reading serials from RR/patreon, Im not sure what part book 2 even covered :D

Justin

For merch are you planning on producing visors and pistols that actually function like Sal's?!?
