Thanks! :) Yes-they will be hawk men. The first few sketches I was doing more conventional 'evil dudes in gas masks/storm trooper helmets' but I was kind of struggling with vehicle designs (I'm a bit rusty, having been working on mostly fantasy art for the last 4 years or so). Then I drew a skimmer shaped like a swan and the whole 'bird' theme fell into place. After that I thought 'space Romans!'-so there's a bit of that too. Very 'Flash Gordon'-taking existing human cultures as the starting point (Romans, not hawk men ;)) and turning them into something new. The will also use a lot of mercs and bounty hunters, so Yeshka will have plenty of enemies to fight :)
