Victoria sighed as she listened to the young man yell at her. “Do you have any idea how hard I work! Do you think I want to come here and have some lady who has no idea how lucky she is to have her job question me? You are. . .”
She zoned out, trying her best to tune out the customer’s rant. “God, how I wish there was something better than this. Day after day, people come in and just yell at me.” She narrowed her blue eyes. “God, look at his nostrils flare. I think I can see a bit of his nose junk dripping out. And he is getting on me for being disgusting. I wish my manager would let me tell these jerks off.
Ugh.”
“Now get me a superior product, or else!”
She looked at the clock. “Oh, I wish I could, but it is time for me to head home.” She gave the man a wicked smile. “I hope you have a wonderful day nonetheless.” She laughed as she walked past him. “Goodbye.”
He slammed his foot down. “Hey. I am not done with you yet. I need a suit for tomorrow.”
She waved as she walked away. “Sorry, but I am off the clock. What happens to you now isn’t my concern.”
His eyes flared with rage. “What? Hey. Hey!”
She walked out of the department store that she worked at. “Finally. I can’t believe that I made it to the weekend.” She stretched her arms out wide. “I am going to party like there is no tomorrow!” She blinked her eyes. “Wait.” She looked back and forth. “How the hell did I. . .” She pointed her finger out as she tried to discern what was going on. “How did I end up in the middle of the forest. I should still be in the mall that I work at.”
She jumped as an owl hooted in the distance. “Umm. . .” Victoria gulped. “Hello?”
She walked forward. “Anyone there? This isn’t some strange Halloween prank, is it?”
“Why hello there.” Victoria almost jumped out of her skin as a nearly naked woman seemed to materialize out of nowhere. “I haven’t seen you here before.”
Victoria held her hand over her chest. “You don’t say. Maybe next time, say something before sneaking up on them and scaring them half to death.” She blinked her eyes in disbelief. “This woman is only wearing leaves to cover her breasts and groin. What is going on?”
The strange lady laughed. “I will remember that.” She extended her hand out. “My name is Autumn. It is nice to meet you.”
“Victoria.” She shook Autumn’s hand. “If I may be so bold as to ask, what is this place?”
Autumn looked at Victoria as if she had asked the dumbest question in the world. “Why we are in the middle of Sizetopia. Everyone knows that.” She crossed her arms. “My, you truly are a strange one.”
“Size what?”
Autumn walked around Victoria. “I mean, look at you. What are these strange things you use to cover yourself.” She waved her finger about. “My, my. Are you ashamed of something?” She suddenly squeezed Victoria’s ass, causing Victoria’s cheeks to turn bright red. “Hmm, I mean, you do have a healthy butt. Small but healthy.”
Victoria pulled away. “I didn’t have a hard day at work to come to this.”
“Ohhhh. I get it now.” Autumn smiled. “You found your way here to relieve stress, didn’t you.”
“I—”
“Well, I can help with that.” She ran her fingers along Victoria’s body. “Don’t worry, honey. Here, things will get so much better. Now, why don’t you tell me what icky things happened to you today.” Autumn pulled Victoria by the arm and led her to a small clearing. “The first step to getting over a bad day is telling me all about it.”
“But I just met you.”
Autumn laughed. “That doesn’t matter.” She sat down beside her. “I am committed to helping you. That is what counts.” She put her hands in her lap. “Now, do you want the help or not?”
“I umm. . .” Victoria didn’t know what to do. This entire situation was just plain weird. But having someone to vent to would be nice. “Well, I work at this umm store, and people just. . .” She sighed. “People just come in and treat me like trash.”
“Oh my.”
“I am there to sell them goods and such. Make their day a pleasurable experience. And well, no one really cares what I think. What I feel. They just. . .” She shook her head. “If one little thing goes wrong, they just explode.”
Autumn nodded her head. “Hmm, that must be soul-crushing.”
“Yes. And I am just supposed to be there and take it. I just wish for once that I could be somewhere where I mattered. Where people didn’t look down at me and despise me.”
Autumn smiled. “We don’t worry, darling. Such a place exists. You are in it.” She tapped her finger on her chin. “But you will have to do some things.”
“What do you mean.”
Autumn stood up. “Like if you want me to help you relax, you can’t have these. . . ughh.” She pulled at her shirt. “This has to go.”
“I guess.” She let Autumn pull her shirt off.
“And the rest of it. It is all just. . .” Autumn snorted.
“But I would be naked.”
“Of course darling.” Autumn ran her hand along Victoria’s face. “In this land, magical things happen when one unburdens themselves of such things as. . . ughh. . . clothing. And I am looking to help you. Now, what do you say? Do you want to have that stress go? Do you want someone to treat you like you matter?”
