California Hotrod rough draft

I plan on finishing this on Monday. But I will work on some Point of View stories between now and then.

California Hotrod.

Tess pushed open her motel room door.  “Ugh I have no idea what I even want to do now that I am stuck here in California.”  She shut it behind her.  “Fucking werecar. . .”  She slapped her head.  “Ughh no I fucking turned into a plane didn’t I?  What is happening to me?  How did I get out here?”  She fell onto the bed.  “What is happening to my life?”  She stared at the celing.  She wasn’t fully sure of what happed.  She had vague memories, of flying though the air and seeing Christen, Linda and Rachel.

She just wanted to go home and see Patrick again.  But she was dead broke.  She had lied to the man when she said she could pay for the room.  What was he going to do about it?  She was thousands of miles away from home and if he really wanted to press the issue she had a fucking living vehicle inside of her.  I am sure he would want to tempt fate with that.

“Tomorrow I am going to try and figure out a way to get home.”  She rubbed her eyes.  “But I need to find those damn girls I dragged her first.  I know I would get in so much touble if I returned home and they were not with me.”  She turned over in her bed.  “Patrick would chew me out.  And I am sure someone close to them would as well.”  She sat up.  “God I can’t even get to sleep just thinking about it.”

Tess’s hands formed into fists.  “I am not going to spend the next few weeks stuck here.  I am going to find those damn blueberry girls and drag them back to Michigan even if I have to turn into a car and drive them there myself.”  She snorted.  “Fucking hell why did my vehicular side have to get me into this mess?”  She grabbed her room key and stromed out the door.

The rest of the day was filled with frustration.  People either told Tess to go to hell or ran from her the moment she mentioned she was looking for blueberry ladies.  “What the fuck is wrong with this town.”  She slumped against a nerby wall.  “Is this entire state batty?”

A young lady walked up to her.  “Well there is a virus going on right now.”

Tess eyed the woman.  “What kind of virus?”

She shugged.  “I don’t know.  I just hear bits and pieces.”  She smiled.  “You look like you have been though hell.  Want me to buy you a drink?”

Tess sighed.  “I guess that couldn’t hurt.  Though if you are trying to leave me will the bill I will let you know right now I have no money.”

The woman laughed.  “Honest and to the point.  I like that.”  She turned around.  “Come on.  And I wans’t going to leave you with the bill.”

Tess followed after her, keeping an eye on the sky.  The sun was setting and it would only be a matter of time before she would have to deal with her mechanical side trying force it’s way out.  “Then why are you buying a stranger a drink?  Hmm?”

The lady shugged.  “Is that a crime?  I just find you interesting.”

“Right. . .”  Tess didn’t trust the lady but she hadn’t had anything to eat or drink all day.  Besides she didn’t want the only thing she consumed to be gasoline when she transformed at night.  “So what is your name?”

“Debora.”  She smiled.  “Nice to meet you.”

              “Tess.”

“So Tess.”  They turned a corner.  “What is a nice gal like you doing out in a place like this?”

She shugged.  “It’s a long story.”

“I would love to hear it over our drinks.”   She smiled.  “Ah here we are.”

Tess crossed her arms as she looked at the hole in the wall.  “This place is little more than a dive.”

“Oh but you will love it.”  Debora smiled.  “Come on.”  She pushed the door open.

Tess sighed.  “Alright but only for one drink.  I have things to do.”

Debora laughed as Tess followed her inside.  “One drink?  What are you a light weight?”  Tess narrowed her eyes.  “I am sorry.  I wasn’t trying to offend you I just. . . I am just offering you free beer.  I would think you would jump at the chance.”

They sit down at the bar.  “Well I guess I have other things on my mind.”  She looked around.  “Not many people here.”

“Most folks are getting out of town.  With the virus and all.”

              “Virus?”

An elderly man with a beard walked up to them.  “Hey Deb.  Nice to see ya.  Who’s your friend?”

“Oh I just met her.  I thought I would buy her a drink Hank.”

Tess crossed her arms.  “You got any food Hank?”  She arched an eyebrow.  “I havent’ eaten all day.  Been on the road.”

He laughed.  “Would explain why you know nothing about the virus.”  He turned around.  “But ya we have some food.  You like wings?”

              “I don’t mind them.”

“I will bring them right up for ya then.”  He walked away.

Tess turned her attention to Debora.  “What is this virus thing?”  She poked her in the shoulder.  “And don’t give me and bullshit.”

The woman laughed.  “Bullshit?  Why do you think I would give you bullshit.”  She smiled.  “You don’t trust the woman who is going to give you a free drink?”

              “Just answer the question.”

Debroa leaned back against the bar.  “How about we trade questions deary.  What are you doing around here?  No one comes to this town without a good reason these days.”

“Well that explains the free drink.”  Tess tapped her finger on the bar.  “I came here with some friends until I lost them.  I am just trying to find them and then head home.”  She shugged.  “Nothing more than that.”

              “Oh?  Where are you from?”

Tess narrowed her eyes.  “I thought we were trading questions?”

Hank set down a beer for Debora and a plate of wings for Tess.  “I just want another question is asked.  Besides it lines up with my first question.  It won’t be hard.”

Tess sighed.  “Michigan.  I am from Michgian.”

“Wow.  You sure came from a long ways away.”  She giggled.  “Okay.  So this virurs apparently turns people into blueberries.  Or that is what the media wants us to believe.”  She leaned forward.  “So what happened to your friends?”  She grabbed her bear and took a sip.”

“Nosy little bitch isn’t she?”  Tess took a deep breath.  “I don’t know.  I think they went deeper into the city but beyond that no idea.”

“Oh well then I think you should give up on them.  For all you know they could just be juicy goners by now.  Poor fools.”  She took another sip from her drink.  “The virus has them in it’s juicy cluches.”

Tess formed her hands into fists.  “Now hold on a miunte.  What the hell with this virus anyway?  Where I come from I know a few decent blueberry people who where not infected by a virus nor are trying to infect anyone.  They leave normal lives!”  Everyone in the bar looked at her like she was crazy.  “You people should get a life!”

Debora laughed.  “Oh really?  You must be from one bat shit crazy town.”  She turned her attention to Hank.  “Lock the doors.  I think this one knows a lot more than she is telling us currently.”

Tess looked around. “Huh?”  Men were moving to block the doors.  “What is going on?”

Debora stood up.  “Like I said people don’t just come to this town anymore.  Everyone knows there is a fucking virus going on.  Now please go on about these good blueberry people.”

Tess suddenly fell to the ground, her chest pounding.  “Not now!”  Tess began to moan as her entire body tensed up.  “I am in enough trouble I don’t need to transform here.

“Take her away.  We can introgate her down at lab nine.”

“Umm. . .”  Hank crossed his arms.  “Lab nine has it’s hands full.  Apparently they caught a living berry lady.”

Debroa threw her arms into the air.  “They did?  Why the fuck doesn’t anyone tell me these things?”  Debora looked down at Tess.  “What is wrong with you?  She doesn’t have the virus dose she?”

Hank laughed.  “How could she?  We are no where near the walled off part of the city.”  Their eyes darted around the room as Tess’s chest suddenly revved like a car engine.  “What in the world was that?”

“You didn’t leave your bike running out there did you?”

Hank waved his hands about.  “What and waste gas?  Are you insane?  Huh?”  They stepped back as they noticed Tess’s ass suddenly double in size.  “What the hell?”

Debora shook her head.  “I don’t know.”

Tess started giggling.  “I suggest you run.”  Her boobs pressed tightly against her shirt.  “Unless you want to get run over.”  She moaned, letting the transformation take her.
