Dear Patrons,
Thank you for your continued support during our first season on Patreon. We are pleased to confirm that we will be pausing Patreon payments for you in both June and July meaning you will not be charged again until August.
This doesn't mean there will be no content for you on Patreon⦠you should know us better!
We plan to continue as normal until the end of this month and then will look to scale back a little during June with most likely 3 Podcasts a week from Intermediate Tier instead of 5 with the Q&A staying as a regular Monday feature, we're likely to be flexible on our other feature Podcasts such as Tot&Ham as we think there will be a time we need to Pod and a time when when we don't. We never want to create content for the sake of creating content, the quality has to be good. The additional Advanced Tier content is likely to remain at a similar level to what it is now with obvious tweaks as there will be no Premier League Football.
Currently, but subject to what FPL decides to do with its launch for 2021/22, we are looking to take a full break from all content for a week after the Euro 2020 final on Sunday July 11th, (we will probably Pod after the final) and will then resume full content on Patreon from Monday July 19th.
In terms of our Podcast plans outside of Patreon we will continue to Pod Monday to Friday (except for the week from July 12th), we have some great ideas for what we want to do to close the season for both FPL and Sky. Our intention from Monday June 7th is to start a daily show focusing on Euro 2020 with half hour shows during the tournament that will include all the stuff you would expect on a featured Planet #FPL show but it will be on The Euros and we will cover the Fantasy element of it too.
When we return from a short hiatus after the Euros we plan to run three week long specials
From July 19th: Content Creator Week
From July 26th: EFL Week
From August 2nd: Correspondent Week
And then before you know it the new season will arrive with the big kick off likely to be on August the 13th.
I'd like to thank the Advanced Tier Patrons who joined me on zoom calls yesterday to discuss ideas and share feedback. We were aware before the calls and still are now that some of you would rather support us by continuing to make payment. We're humbled, we always are, but we want to thank you for your support during the season and to give something back during what has been a challenging year for everyone for so many varying reasons.
We obviously want to grow Planet #FPL too and introduce new members to our growing community, the very best thing you can do if you want to help is shout from the rooftops during the summer about our Patreon. If you still want to donate your monthly payments we'd be happy to set up donations to a particular charity of if you want to donate to a beer fund for a future event we're happy to look into that too.
On events, we'd love to see many of you join us on Saturday July 24th in London (venue TBC) for a meet up we are organising with the FPL Surgery and Who Got The Assist Podcasts to bring the FPL community back together. Once that's been and gone we'd like to organise a Planet FPL Patreon only event, hopefully in late summer or in the early Autumn.
As ever, thank you for your continued support and our DMs are always open if you have any questions (though Suj may take a week to respond). Have a great weekend and good luck to your clubs and your Fantasy teams for the rest of the season.
Best Wishes,
James
Benno
