2024-11-05 07:34:15 +0000 UTCHi James, I marked this in my calendar to listen to this a year later as I was dealing with life as a new dad this time last year and wanted to give it the attention it really deserves. He is a very lucky little boy to have you and your wife as parents, sounds like you are doing everything you can for him and more. You also sound like the luckiest parents, he sounds such a brilliant little lad. I think listening to that has really reflect on my relationship with my wife as a mum. She sounds like Katie, a worrier but the most kind, caring mum and would do anything for my little girl. Giving her more space to do that and getting her own releases are really important to me. I didn't really listen to the pods that much last year after I had Emma. I just didn't have the headspace for it. I have really really enjoyed getting back into it this season and it feels like I am hanging out with my mates. I gave up a lot moving to Spain and then the US after that, you guys have been constants throughout that time (man it must be 7/8 years) and i really can't tell you how much i appreciate it and how many days you've put a smile on my face. I hope everything with Harry is going well a year later. 6 years old! My word time is flying.

Def feel where you are coming from and the concern and worries you can experience. All we want is for our children to be happy and healthy.

2023-09-08 13:50:12 +0000 UTCTotally agree with your sentiments, family and health always comes first. The majority of us will understand around content. We didn't have the same concerns at Harry's age but my eldest daughter's showed traits of autism for the last few years and was diagnosed as autistic this summer, she's 11 next month. She is also sensitive with loud noises and large groups, which makes school days vary on a daily basis. Like you, we've spoken to teachers and they do the best they can to support her. We've found noise cancelling headphones are really helpful when out and about shopping etc. Keeping to a routine is very important to her as well as not being rushed so we try to prepare in advance i.e. school clothes out the night before and if there's something new happening tell her a day in advance but not far ahead as she has anxiety issues and can start worrying months in advance of something. Similarly at bed time all her worries and emotions of the day can come out and we can be with her for hours at bedtime. Girls are very good at masking and appearing to cope all day at schools. She's incredibly clever and can be obsessive to a degree with her interests and cN talk.to us about them for hours. We also manage to take her to a Little Mix concert in a venue with over 10,000 people and although she was incredibly anxious on the way in and out, she loved the show so you might get Harry to Spurs yet. Sorry for the long response and as you say to others I'm open for any mental health issues. I'm not on Twitter any more so can't DM but hear anytime if needed. Lots of love to you and Katie ❤️

2023-09-08 11:06:40 +0000 UTCListening to something as intimate and sensitive as that and it ending with “ANKARA MESSI” was so jarring it was hilarious 😂 I loved this and it’s clear you are both fantastic parents. Hope he settles in well at school and that we get updates down the line!

2023-09-08 10:38:51 +0000 UTCJames thank you for sharing. I’m a father of three but I have no experience with what you’re describing so hearing you talk about it is so helpful with building understanding and empathy. No need to explain re impact on content. We get it. Just grateful to get what we can from you. Tot&Ham is a priority though 😆 and more of these. Who would have thought the international break has been decent timing for you to manage his entry to nursery/school 🙌

2023-09-08 09:18:46 +0000 UTCThat was a great lesson, because our son is a very similar age to Harry, even my wife said here and listened to you as well I have a few friends who have children in and around the spectrum, so have seen different variations and can understand some of what you’re going through If he is not quite ready for school, could he stay at nursery for another year and start a year later? Or is that not what is done in England? All schooling across the world is different I suppose, overhear it is quite flexible for when you start as long it is before you are six years old Also think it’s great that you can sit there and speak your mind and get the support that you need just from verbally sharing how you are feeling
