Clayton joins James for a discussion on the lack of spending in the January transfer window and ask if this is a one off caused by fear of failing Profit and Sustainability Reporting or of it's the start of a new trend for spending within the Premier League.
Did Everton's points deduction cause fear throughout the league to curb spending and show that FFP/PSR really did have teeth?
There's talk of clever accounting, why some transfers may be done differently, the importance of home grown players and if this new era of spending sustainability might end as quickly as it starts?
And the Podcast begins with a quick reflection on Phil Foden's hat-trick in Manchester City's 3-1 victory at Brentford

Good pod mate. FYI - in the Harry Kane example you used, the full profit figure would be reported in the year of sale. Makes no difference whether its paid up front or in instalments, as anything outstanding will just be shown as a debtor (money owed to the club) on the balance sheet.
