Update for the week ending on 08-29-25

Chapters written

This week, I wrote 4 chapters for Mind Your Step, the extra one was to catch up for the missed one on the previous monday. 3 chapters for The Technician’s Fight, and one for Harker.

The writing went well on the whole.

I edited the chapters of the previous week, and I’ve been slowly editing a story that will be posted to the furry sites.

Other stuff

The Keyboard is now fully assembled, I’ve been using it for the week and it’s going well, on the whole. I’ve had to change key positions to move everything closer and minimize hand travel over it. It isn’t perfect, but I think that short of learning to make a keyboard from scratch, this is the best I’m going to get. The only missing thing is a longer cable to connect the two halves so I can adjust the position for better comfort. I did receive it, but because I didn’t pay attention to what I ordered, again, it’s USB to USB c cable, instead of c to c. I’ve ordered the adapter, along with something I should be able to make a wrist rest with.

After years of the front door bug screen being slashed, no idea how or when it happened, it’s finally been replaced. And that was more of an adventure than it had any right to be.

I bought the screen stuff in the spring because I figured it would be good to have airflow through the house when the weather permitted. Only I couldn’t remove the screen frame from the door, so I set that aside for a day when I’d have to time to work out how to do it.

That day didn’t happen. This week, over lunch, I was mentioning it to a housemate and he offered to look at it. He couldn’t remove it either. But he was able to remove the window in front of it, giving us access, and since he was there, I figured we could do it then. I had 20 minutes before I needed to return to my writing, so that would be enough time.

Turns out the previous owners weren’t happy instaling the screen properly. They glued it in place. So we spent half an hour scrapping the channel to clear the glue before we could install the screen. In the end, I was 30 minutes late returning to my stream.

But it’s done.

Really should do the back door now.
