šŸ’° The Lassana Diarra Case | Money in Football

Suj and James discuss tomorrow's expected verdict from The European Court of Justice about a case involving former Premier League football Lassana Diarra, that could drastically alter the landscape for transfers in football, because it could lead to players having the power to break their contracts.

How did we get here? What does it mean?

And we may know all, tomorrow!

Cheers James. It will be very interesting to see how it plays out!

Thanks Ben. I think at this stage the only answer I can truly give is 'I don't know'

Amazing pod, this is fascinating. If it goes through, do you think there's a chance that it could effectively mean that every player now has the equivalent of a release clause? If an independent body are defining a compensation fee should the contract be broken, surely it would prevent any club from asking for a transfer fee higher than the compensation fee.
