๐ŸŽž๏ธ๐Ÿ“บ What Was That Trent? | Talking Tactics

James reviews the performance of a questionable Trent Alexander-Arnold from recent games against Manchester United and Tottenham to give his own critique and try and understand why the Liverpool full-back made some of the decisions that he did.

And there is more of a defence of Trent than had been expected prior to undertaking the analysis.

Good watch James. There's a fella who sits behind me who is constantly on Mo's case for not tracking back and doing what some would call "the dirty work". As you've demonstrated, him not working his arse off for Trent is exactly why he's the outlet in transitions so often. Can't believe the guy behind me hasn't perhaps realised this after Mo has played for us for so long! Trent relies on Konate and the 6 (Fabinho was great and now Gravenberch) for help and to enable him to contribute in an attacking sense. That wasn't great to say the least, on Sunday. Having said that, I thought he was awful against United. Interesting views you had which I hadn't considered mate. His body language is a big part of why he gets a lot of shit for goals conceded. That pre-dates the Madrid links. He sometimes *looks* like he lacks desire, which gets people's backs up. I don't think he doesn't care though, he's just quite a languid player which is rare for a defender.
