James set himself and David a challenge, to come up with a best XI from World Cup since 1982, but with restrictions. The rules are as follows...
Pick one player from each World Cup played from 1982-2022 to make an ideal team.
You can only pick 1 player per country (West Germany and Germany is not allowed)
Players must have had a good tournament in the year chosen and must be in the position they played in
Teams must also have balance (for example you can't have someone like Salah as a winger with no full-back)
On the Podcast David and James discuss their selections, reasons for them, the process behind the decisions and there is lots of World Cup nostalgia.
Feel free to share your team in the comments or in the #internationalfootball Slack channel if you wish to play along.
