About cubs and relationships
Added 2022-10-19 22:00:25 +0000 UTCQ: Why are there so many little lion cubs in Simba's pride? Are there babies of Outlanders, and Kovu or Simba bastards among them?
A: Basically, these cubs were born after the union of the two prides, but some were born even before that.
We have already mentioned this before, but just in case, we will clarify it again - according to the canon of our comic, different laws and customs apply in different prides. Some of them are considered basic and widespread in the savannah (for example, the rule "if you are a member of the pride, work for its good"), some are exclusively local. The attitude of the king to polygamy/cubs also differs everywhere: somewhere the ruler has the entire pride in his harem, and somewhere he chooses one / two / three lionesses as his favorite.
Specifically, in the Simba pride, monogamous marriages are accepted (in the sense of "a stable tradition formed over several generations"). Therefore, the king does not forbid the rest of the lionesses to start relationships with other lions - of course, as long as they do not encroach on his lands. So, if desired, a local lioness can always have offspring on the side and calmly raise him in the pride. This is commonplace here, especially since at the moment there are only two adult males in Simba's pride and both are already "busy" :D
As for the former Outlanders, they had approximately the same custom of having lion cubs from the tramps (but they had it for other reasons, it is better to explain them in a separate article). During the "reign" of Zira, it was not very easy - Zira was rather hostile towards such things. She did not forbid, but did not approve either, since she did not need lactating (and therefore not fighting) females. Yes, and the lionesses for the most part (but, again, not all) understood that now it was not up to the establishment of offspring, and tried to postpone it until later, when they settled on the Pride Lands.
This is what happened in the end, so most immediately happily rushed to close their old gestalt :D Probably, it remains only to be glad for a few random strays who were lucky enough to visit the borders of the kingdom in this very period of time, ahaha
And no, Simba and Kovu did not have bastards in the pride, they are both devoted and tenderly loving husbands, and they do not want to upset their wives with random affairs on the side.
