you have to put dummy spark plugs in, or just remove the plugs. the pumping loss from moving air causes a lot of wasted power, but I'm going to remove the rockers from the valvetrain so the valves won't be moving. friction from the pistons will reduce power by a bit, but not much.

Do you have to demonstrate that the extra cylinders are disabled? Are they disabled in software/electronically or is there a mechanical way to disable them? What would stop someone from reenabling them during a run? And is the extra drag from the unused cylinders not enough of an impact to worry about?

I didn’t fall asleep, and watching videos from the Driver 61 channel about his work towards designing a Formula 1 that will drive upside down, on the top o& a specially designed tunnel, prepared me for your ramblings. What I now find fascinating is that he has said that a real F1 car wouldn’t be able to do this, even though it generates enough downforce (upforce?) to pin it to the tunnel ceiling. So his car looks more like Robin’s. A cartoony F1 car. And your explanations are way better than his so I think I understand. But, it’s 1:20am EST and I really should be sleeping. Wait, sorry. Now I’m rambling. Anyway, I’m now going to re-watch this on YouTube and make some sort of crack about feeding the algorithm. And then I’ll probably doze off.
