Peek: Q&A Number... The Next One!

It's been a while, so lets get right into the Q&A session!

Once more, the Guy Who Asks has several questions: Are tsuchinokos an option out of the snake spawner? A quick search shows they're the think the pokemon dunsparse is based on, for those like me who didn't know. They're an option, though I don't seen any list of abilities for them in my quick search.

He also asks about fossilized undead. They do exist, but are incredibly rare, as they would be an option for a skeletal undead spawner with an earth affinity. He also asks about other types of undead, like aquatic (yes) and draconic (no).

He asks what a greater yeti would spawn from, and that would obviously be a yeti spawner :P Ice affinity primate spawner.

Dullahan spawners would be a variety of metallic fey, or possibly metallic undead. I'm not up on my Irish lore. He asks about imp spawners, which would probably be a variety of fire fey. He asks about dogkin (yes). I'm unsure what he means about tikis. Gillmen specifically from the Cthulhu mythos probably not, but frogkin would be very similar.

Oh, and he asks for a name for the world. I'll get back to you on that. I have a few ideas, but I want to take my time and make sure it's a good one, heh.

Kebbitevoke asks if Thedeim is allowed a second rat enclave since he has a spare rat spawner from taking over Neverrest. No, one enclave per type.

Wolfclaw asks about how affinity relates to the kinds of enclaves from a spawner. While enclaves that inherit a specific affinity will be predisposed towards certain specializations, he mentions the ants potentially going for smelting, it's not a hard rule. In fact, Thedeim's ants are very likely to specialize in herbalism and alchemy, rather than smelting and forging.

Fanfan8000 asks if the peeks will ever be put into a full book on their own. It's certainly a possibility, though it'll probably be a thing I do after the story is finished. If I could just make it happen, eventually yes, but life sometimes has other plans. He also asks if I read the comments on Royal Road, and yes I do. I try to keep up with Reddit and RR both, though it's easy to fall behind at times :P

Dathon asks what spawners look like. It depends on the spawner. He specifically asks about the crawling hands, which is actually very similar to the other undead spawners that Thediem has. They are all in one of the mausoleums, and while the zombies and skeletons must open their crypts to exit, the hand spawner is smaller and has a portion of the seal broken off, which the hands crawl out of.

Something asks about the books, and as far as I'm aware, e-books are only on kindle. As I understand it, kindle does its best to keep digital rights exclusive.

Raufgar has a few questions: 1: If the guy from The Martian died and became a dungeon, what would he have as spawners? He would probably have worms and constructs as his spawners, though he would probably have life affinity.

2: Can Thedeim do more class shenanigans, specifically for Rezlar? Probably, though Rezlar is very comfortable with his class and doesn't see any need to advance it yet. It may happen anyway, but there is still plenty of room in it for him to grow still.

3: What's Thedeim's Divine form look like? Thedeim's divine form is similar to what Tarl saw in his vision, though the person-shaped void also has an orange aura around it. Thedeim isn't aware of this, as he seems to have difficulty perceiving himself.

Pickled Tink asks about the difference between dungeon alchemy and delver. The main difference is in how dungeons and delvers use mana. Delvers agitate it, where dungeons calm it. The different flows make each significantly different.

Morgwath asks what enclaves do undead make. I had actually been toying with the idea that humans were undead, but I've since scrapped that. For an actual answer, we'll both have to wait until Thedeim makes one, as no other dungeons have tried.

Clane Newcomer asks a unique question. Teemo feels it, of course, tastes like snozberries.

Vik M. asks if primates exist, and yes, they do. To answer the obvious follow up about their enclave, they make monkeykin or apekin for the most part, not humans.

Chris Bell asks what makes a dungeon turn neutral, I mean turn to violence. Their first interaction with the world often shapes a dungeon's perspective. The longer a dungeon deals with only invaders instead of intelligent delvers, the more likely they are to feel there's little difference. Ones that interact positively with delvers early are more likely to be toyboxes.

Navar44 asks about especially remote dungeons. They're known in concept, though they're fairly rare. It takes a mixture of turbulent and stagnant mana to spark a dungeon to form, and while there are some beasts that could help with that, like the scythemaws, the vast majority of dungeons form on the outskirts of civilization.

I think that's everyone? If I missed any questions, I may be saving them for full peeks, or I may have simply missed them. If I did, do like The Guy Who Asks and repeat yourself. I thought for sure I had answered his questions, but it looked like I hadn't. So keep them coming, even if I don't answer! And thank you all for your support!

How different do spawners have to be to get a new Scion? Like can you only have one Fay, elemental, ECT Scion, or are they different enough?

Karp The Mad

I hope theDM works on the snake and bird spawners soon! I'm wondering what will come out of them. I'm also secretly hoping for a lesser fenrir or something along those lines because of tundra wolves. Fenrir is often associated with the cold!

Matthew Frasier

I'm hoping for the one-year anniversary of thedeim birthday can we get a peek into temoo or tiny refecting on their thoughts of the past year?

Robinn57

Ooooo, yeah, have the three of them fight Rocky. See if they can actually overwhelm him lol

Cha0sniper

Thanks for the peek. Love 💗 😘 getting a taste of the undead max spawner. No need to rush the reveal- I'm for the journey, not the destination. Putting out my guess now, avian max spawner is tengu. They look cool when they've got an outfit (and hat!) but I bet they drop into uncanny valley when they're natural. I hope when(?) he gets bear spawner upgrades branches to brown, panda, and polar/arctic bears.

About voices, can dungeons have more than one? I like the idea of tiny being a voice for ppl who want to talk to the dungeon if thedeim doesn’t want to talk to them so they‘d have to brave the maze and the reward is an audience or sth with the gauntlets or a unique challenge for an audience.

Ibram Gaunt

I had some that werent answered, but I'm holding out for them being used as a peek! *fingers crossed* But i did have another ?. Can we please get a team-up with Torlon, Old Stavien and Miller? That would be incredible.

Thanks for the peek!

Herakilla

they can also double jump

Robothaus

Thedeim has a voice, gods seem more limited to playing hot and cold for communication when they aren't spending resources to make quests. Unless they running around doing stuff like the Raven but even then he was limited to communicate with the designated voice i think other than that he could only interact with the dead

Robothaus

Here's a very specific question: in the latest chapter we've seen Violet use her scions to make a tunnel towards the sewers to make expanding there more smooth. Can Thedeim have Teemo riding Fluffles making shortcuts up into the air to make expanding up more smooth for him? Seems like it would follow the same logic.

Logos

Of course lol

Zachary Key

Something that can't be repeated

Aaron Mcmaster

A class requires the one receiving it to achieve or understand something. They have to earn it, and can't just have it handed to them. It would seem that the sheild and the God of magic have both met difficulties in guiding their followers to earning these new classes. The strength of Thedeim's knowledge along with fate affinity shenanigans gave the extra push that was so hard for even Gods to find.

Aaron Mcmaster

Would Vampires work as a undead enclave? Probably the zombie one. They are different enough from humans to get past any censor I think. For skeletons closest I could think of would be reverent since they tend to be more intelligent? For the hands. I have zero ideas. Maybe some spawners were never meant to enclave lol

Preswolfwood

TFTP! Would it be considered a lightning affinity or an electric affinity? As for a bit more of a targeted question, what would a lightning affinity dungeon look like and it's spawners?

Ethan Barrow

Maybe ghouls for zombies? For skeletons I was thinking something closer to Jack from the nightmare before Xmas. For the hands I have no idea tbh.

Ethan Barrow

Thanks for the nice peek and answering some questions 😊

Demonlord

I think it's more like they know the general idea of it but not the specific name and requirements to reach it. If I remember correctly it was said that the goddess of magic wanted to explore that field for a while but didn't had the time to do that.

Demonlord

"Clane Newcomer asks a unique question. Teemo feels it, of course, tastes like snozberries." What was that unique question?

Zachary Key

Undead enclaves make vampires obviously.

Patrick

“Raufgar has a few questions: “ Please repeat the questions. They are missing “Clane Newcomer asks a unique question.” Again, what was the question?

jeffh4

One type of dungeon has been missed. Air dungeons. Specifically, Dungeons that form and float in the air. Oh wait... that would be Heaven. LOL.

Elain C. Moria

Hey in case you missed it I had asked in an earlier chaper. I noticed Mlynda doesn't have an animal companion. Does she want one and if so could we get a peek where we see her get one please?

CM

Hooray for answers! By the way tsuchinoko abilities are mostly lying like a politician and alcoholism. So maybe illusion affinity snakes? And by tikis I mean probably cephalothorax tiki masks and I was more talking about the Universal movie monster Gillman.

The-Guy-Who-Asks

If God's are aware that classes such as sage exist or are possible why are they unable to give the idea or surrounding knowledge about the class? Is it a requirement that most classes come from the realm of mortals? Order seems able to talk to his followers, if not just order them around.
