Peek: Thedeim's Notes: Spawners
Added 2025-01-27 01:54:52 +0000 UTCRats tier: max enclave: complete number: 2 specialization: resources spawns: rats, swarms, packrats, dire rats, ratlings Overall solid. Migh
Rats
tier: max
enclave: complete
number: 2
specialization: resources
spawns: rats, swarms, packrats, dire rats, ratlings
Overall solid. Might need to add another in the tunnels under the tree once it's done. Gotta keep that loot flowing. Commonly given the go juice to give lightning affinity.
Spiders
tier: max
enclave: complete
number: 1 (lair)
specialization: melee
spawns: lesser spiders (normal), swarms, greater spiders (big), widows, aranea.
Another great spawner, perfect spawns for showing newbies the ropes. Only one I've made into a lair, maybe lair up a couple others instead of adding more? Need to make another questing board in the forest for the aranea.
Ants
tier: max
enclave: complete
number: 1 (technically?)
specialization: resources
spawns: ants (variety), cinder ants, crucible ants, tunnelbores, magmyrm
Weird spawner, doesn't work like the others. Great for the labrynth, and Queen has her special alchemical ants, too.
Snakes
Tier: 4
enclave: n/a
number: 1(lair)
specialization: magic (poison is magic?)
spawns: sneks, vipers, spitting cobras, twinsnakes.
Probably the next in line for an enclave, or the birb spawner. Maybe I'll try to do two at once. Probably not, but either should be good to set up shop once the tree is finished. So far, the only spawner to regularly get the metal transmutation elixir applied.
Birds
Tier: 5
enclave: n/a
number: 1(lair)
specialization: resources
spawns: blackbirds, crows, ravens, dire ravens, raven harpies
I really haven't upgraded them past tier three? Definitely need to get on that. Great for scouting and great for gathering goodies. Upgraded ones will probably be vital to keeping the branches of the trees full of tempting goodies for delvers. Dire ravens are even better at getting goodies, and the raven harpies are pure nightmare fuel
Bats
Tier: 3
enclave: n/a
number: 1
specialization: resources
spawns: bats, fruitbats, waterbats
These guys need some love, too, especially once I get the tree up. If they keep helping with plants, they're going to be invaluable in keeping the tree healthy and encouraging more interesting plant growth. They might even be able to provide buffs to my plant denizens, which would be cool.
Bees
Tier: 4
enclave: n/a
number: 1 (technically)(also lair)
specialization: melee
spawns: bees, bumblebees, rumblebees, armory bees
The new bee types like to make hives to spawn their own kind, but as far as I can tell, they still function like a single spawner, kinda like the anthill and the different exits it has. Glad to see even the melee bees make their own honey. It'd be weird to not have them make at least a bit.
Zombies
Tier: 3
enclave: n/a, possibly actually not applicable?
number: 1(lair)
specialization: resources
spawns: zombies, fungal zombies, puffball zombies
Definitely need to give the zombies some love, even if they're officially 'fleshy undead'. The Shield's people are probably more than ready for tougher varieties by now. Puffballs are kinda cute, in a weird way. Probably less cute when they pop.
Skeletons
Tier: 3
enclave: n/a
number: 1(lair)
specialization: resources
spawns: skeleton, verdant skeleton, pitcherplant skeleton
Just like the fleshy version, my bony undead need some love. I'll probably move the verdants and fungal into spring when I upgrade these, leaving the crypts as the place for fighting undead. Pitcherplants are pretty cool and can summon insects. The nectar in the pitchers looks like a great alchemy ingredient.
Hands
Tier: 3
enclave: n/a
number: 1
specialization: magic
spawns: hands, arcane hands, magus hands
I really have ignored my poor undead. More powerful magic hands should be a lot of fun for things in the forest, and possibly in the labyrinth, too. Magus hands don't play around.
Slimes
Tier: 3
enclave: n/a
number: 1
specialization: resources
spawns: slimes, oozes, catalyst slimes
Man, the catalysts are easy to forget. They just go around, enriching the mining nodes. I should upgrade a couple times to get more of them, and hope they can handle the heat in the labyrinth. The next spawn will probably help with the quarry and iron vein, too, so definitely would not be a waste, especially with the hold getting ready to break ground.
Wolves
Tier: 3
enclave: n/a
number: 1(lair)
specialization: magic
spawns: lesser wolves, wolves, tundra wolves
I need to give Leo's spawner more love, too. The wolves are going to be a major part of the encounters in the winter section, that's for sure.
Dragons
Tier: 2
enclave: n/a
number: 1 (thankfully)
specialization: none (yet)
spawns: wyrms, basilisks
Such an expensive spawner, but so cool and definitely worth it. I think magic specialization would make them incredibly dangerous, but that's kinda the point: for people to test themselves against danger. I probably should specialize them before I upgrade to the next tier, though.
Earth Elementals
Tier: 3
enclave: n/a
number: 1
specialization: melee
spawns: stalactsprites, rockslides, soil elementals
Great all around spawner, looking forward to seeing the newer ones synergize even better with the plants.
Plants
Tier: 3
enclave: n/a
number: 1(lair)
specialization: magic (spatial)
spawns: living vines, dreambloom, living brambles
Probably going to give them spatial affinity, and probably need to specialize them for magic if I want to have them do the shenanigans I have in mind. Gonna be doing a lot more upgrades eventually
Fey
Tier: 2
enclave: n/a
number: 1(lair)
specialization: none
spawns: bark pixies, sprigs
I still find the sprigs kinda creepy, but they're pulling their weight and more against the beetle invaders. Once the tree is up, they might get to start playing with the delvers, but I'm not letting them off that particular leash until it's well established that the forest is not for newbies.
Bears
Tier: 3
enclave: n/a
number: 1(lair)
specialization: melee
spawns: black bears, grizzly bears, dire bears
Looking forward to further upgrades and making them bigger and tankier. It'll definitely take a strong defender to keep one of the grizzlies at bay. Dire bears big and bear.
Foxes
Tier: 2
enclave: n/a
number: 1(lair)
specialization: magic
spawns: fox, mischief
Upgrading these guys is going to be a priority once the tree is done. I need to have a better idea of what's going on in the kingdom and beyond, and the foxes are probably my best bet.
Constructs
Tier:1
Enclave: n/a
Number: 1
Specialization: none, possibly magic later
Spawns: popper swarms
Kinda expensive to upgrade, but custom jobs usually cost more, yeah? My answer to the speaker project, I'll have to design the further tiers as I go, what with them having gravity affinity. Aiming to have the higher spawns be able to voltron with the poppers to do different things. Looking forward to it.

I think that's all of them, but please do let me know if I've forgotten one of the spawners. I wouldn't be surprised if I had, heh.
Comments
Hi Khenal - I think it’ll be great you add Scion - with the Scion’s name for each section so it provides a reminder/relationship mapping of the spawners to scions. For those with enclaves just the leaders would be a nice touch.

2025-01-31 04:18:29 +0000 UTCTYFTP! So many different types of spawners, I am honestly surprised that so many of them are at level 2 or 3. I do think it is interesting that so many of them had comments about, ooh, need to upgrade this when… It will be interesting to see what actually does get upgraded next.

2025-01-29 01:14:32 +0000 UTCTFTP!! Really great to see that all laid out.

2025-01-28 19:37:56 +0000 UTCProb in the mountain where they want to build the hold. get to mountains and find a mountain dungeon. That is creepy nice. Like he is nice but is up to something.

2025-01-28 02:28:44 +0000 UTCDaywalkers maybe? Considering how his undead spawners tend to mix life and death affinity?

2025-01-28 01:53:03 +0000 UTCAh, I had forgotten about them! Thanks for the reminder. This is exactly why I did this peek :)

2025-01-27 23:08:09 +0000 UTCI think you forgot about one of the plant denziens. Wasn’t there one called night blooms or something that make people fall asleep
Tiger88
2025-01-27 16:15:48 +0000 UTCYou know, I could see vampires being somewhere along the upgrade line of the zombie spawner as vampires are a form of "fleshy undead." As either a very late spawn or as the dweller version of undead.

2025-01-27 13:19:03 +0000 UTCRats would make the best spy's. They are every where all the time.

2025-01-27 07:53:24 +0000 UTCI predict that the following will happen this year. 1) he is gonna get a boatload of mana. 2) someone is going to threaten his core with distruction. 3) if not a death, then there will be a near miss. Either from an enemy trying to harm him or someone forcing his hand. 4) the introduction of a new dungeon in the deep sea, mountains, or possibly sky? 5) the hold is going to get used almost immediately after its finished, possibly a short siege arc?

2025-01-27 07:31:29 +0000 UTCHmm... if scions behaviour have eny a affected to spawns choice.. then slach being bard bring option off.. wind shime rock? Sing rocks? Come to think of it bard are classical Spy's... though 2 tonns monster hardly blend in.. maybe rockslides could hang around shortcuts where people move to gather information that way. Some magial ability gather information more effectively... maybe a mana radar or fate reading of passing person as they stay but?

2025-01-27 06:07:50 +0000 UTCWhat does the lair upgrade on the spiders do again?

2025-01-27 05:55:59 +0000 UTC---- I need to have a batter idea ---- Typo. Should be "better". I'm going to assume you were subconsciously feeling guilty for leaving the bats out. On the other hand, having a "batter idea" would work in context if it was the bats being specialised for intelligence gathering. They wouldn't be great at it though until he upgraded to get batmen, and even then they'd be too busy fighting crime to spy for him.

2025-01-27 05:45:31 +0000 UTCCome think of it most notably birds in mythology are phoenix of rebirth.. kind match MC there, Hungi and Mungi or though and memory that travels Realms at night bringing new and information to Odin at day... also on some story's it's say first ravens where fully albinos (like doves) until Hungis and Mungis labour before start of time turn them black..
mly85lc
2025-01-27 05:44:43 +0000 UTCSpeaking of flying creatures.. could birds have additional options since MC meet "the Raven" whene he was still "technically" just a dungeon? After lives birds? Spirit birds? Sinnigammi birds? Soul birds? Death talk birds?
mly85lc
2025-01-27 05:33:04 +0000 UTCI wonder if now that MC has access to full evolution trees, can scions behaviour affected nexst spawns choice skill settings in subtle ways like.. nexst bat spawns have what ever skill set MC chosen but additional could have options have echolocation to map high definenation pictures of building down to inside struture... come to think that be nice addition to spy network. Just bats flying by while noticing down how meany pepole there is in building and what stuff have been move around or add one since theyry last fly by... would probably need sound/sing/voice magic.. don't people speak to plants to make them grow?
mly85lc
2025-01-27 05:21:13 +0000 UTCSorry not sorry for the pun. You should combine the bees with the zombie spawner that way you get some Zombees!

2025-01-27 05:05:10 +0000 UTCSomething to add to this list would be areas that exist in the dungeon and location data for possible encounters. Like from the Manor to the Forest of four seasons. So that we have idea if the number of spawners are providing good amount of encounters or if the DM is struggling with the amount of area for the amount of creatures and encounters.

2025-01-27 02:19:52 +0000 UTCThanks for the nice peek 😊 Great overview of the spawners and I'm looking forward to all the upgrades he wants to make. With the tree up there will be even more traffic through his territory and he will have the mana to upgrade everything
