Next video - Euro trip
Added 2024-07-11 12:47:28 +0000 UTCHi everyone!
The yellow powder video has done well, which is nice! But onto the next video!
I'm going to be trying something different - I'm going to be visiting a University in Europe to film some dangerous chemistry. All the Ex&F videos over the years have been about me personally doing the chemistry, so it will be a bit different, but it is an absolute dream of an opportunity, and one I would never have hope to replicate it on my own in the shed.
No full spoilers yet, but it is definitely some fluorine chemistry.
At the very least, this video should be done quicker than my usual upload schedule!
Also, next second channel video will be on making a fluorescent zinc telluride glass. Progress has been slow because the tellurium didn't want to cooperate, but i've made a lot more progress now!!
Thanks,! - Tom

2024-08-27 13:39:19 +0000 UTCDoes the Klapotke group do fluorine chemistry? Seeing a Ex&F video with them would be awesome haha.

2024-07-12 07:05:35 +0000 UTCHaha yeah it is Germany. Of course. Home of chemistry. Not sure ChemicalForce is coming, I think he is invited but not sure what country he is actually in

2024-07-12 07:02:34 +0000 UTCYes! Very good channel. There’s a bit of a chemistry YouTuber meetup in the works actually, which is really what encouraged me to go in the first place

2024-07-12 07:01:57 +0000 UTCI doubt it, but there's at least a couple of fluorine chemistry groups in Germany. I did my MChem project in a fluorine chem group at the University of Leicester but they're not set up to do crazy fluorine chemistry (although there was a fluorine line set up when I was there).

2024-07-12 01:41:31 +0000 UTCZinc telluride! That should be really fun, though it's definitely not one I have in gem form. No tellurium for me.

2024-07-11 16:27:26 +0000 UTCIf you're heading to Europe to do spicy stuff check out "advanced tinkering" he's made some lovely videos refining alkali metals, making fountains, exploding things, doing glass work and all sorts of fun things. Very little yellow chemistry or tar!

2024-07-11 13:49:21 +0000 UTCI mean, University of Florida has a pretty good Chem program, I bet they do cool stuff there too... Ahem... 😂
