Coming soon: Patreon revamp

As you might remember from a few months back, Patreon is discontinuing the "per-creation" system this year, which means I must migrate to a "monthly" campaign asap.

Savings were made. Thoughts were had. Feedback was asked. And I'm finally ready to do the jump. And bring you even more juicier rewards than ever before in this next era for me and my work, which you've made possible for... -checks calendar- twelve years already my brother in christ. 

A few months before I moved away from my parent's house, back in 2013 when i was a wee 22 y/o baby, right after I opened my patreon, I overheard a phonecall my dad was having. He was talking with a friend of his or whatever, and the usual "how are the kids?" question came up. Paraphrasing, it was something like "Alonso (that's me) is... doing fine i guess??. He's doing art stuff or whatever. It's giving him enough to put food on the table..." Reading it in english, I don't think the arrogance and sarcasm really comes across after the translation. Bitch it was giving me enough to move away from your abusive ass, ANYWAYS. I dont wanna go into a whole sob story. The point is, in this 12 years you've given SO MUCH. Enough to move in with my girlfriend, now wife, cut ties with my shitty family entirely, pay rent for 7 years, pay the down payment for an apartment right after it, two surgeries (one for my wife one for me) a cat's entire life (and still going thank goodness), medical insurance, life insurance, a car. I cannot overstate how much your presence here and around my work has changed my life and the life of those around me for the better. Just wanted to tell you that. And that I hope you get to stick around.

What's next then?

I'm still ironing out the details on how the tiers will look like.

For now, I'll wait for April to come around, let patreon send me your pledges on the 5th, and then I'll go and contact patreon support to change the page's system. I don't know how long it takes. I don't know the logistics of it either. In fact I don't know anybody else with a "per creation" page like mine, let alone someone who has gone through this process. So I'm not sure when or how the pledge changes will go through. But alas, like Honey aptly mentions in this very dated Bear Grylls memery, we'll improvise, adapt, and overcome. The patreon support article mentions its a very one-on-one process, so we'll see how it goes.
