Should i change my comic to flat color with basic shading?

I really want to work more on this comic, but its very discouraging spending 5-8 hours on every page with all the detailed shading i do. I really wanted it to look nice and be well detailed, but its just becoming too much work and too hard to keep up with. I'm pretty positive if i tone down the level of shading to something very simply, i can get it posted more frequently.
More than 50% of the time it takes me to complete a page is just the shading. The rest is- panel layout/design, clean sketch, line art and flat color.

At this point, i feel like the story is more important than the level of detail in the coloring, and i'm tired of it always being at a stand still... ive been working on this comic for literal YEARS and its not even introduced the main MAIN character ugh.
What do you think? what is more important to you? Quality or Quantity? Detail or Story? I will try to make up for the lack of colored detail with line work if i can.

Comments

Thanks for the comment, i really appreciate the input. I just really want to do more, but the amount of work i know has to be done for this project zaps my energy to do it before i even try and i hate that its been so difficult to keep working on. the amount of years since i posted the very first page, honestly the comic should be done by now xD I agree with the thing about quality being better than quantity, I would definitely prefer it look nicer- but i'm not really doing anything because i never have the time or energy to do that much work on something all at once, and probably wont until i have my own place again. there's a small chance i might next year, but i might not, and that doesn't depend on me, i can't do more than i'm doing to try and find a place i can afford. living with other people who pester me to do things for them all the time stresses me out and makes consistent work extra difficult. :i I just feel if i dont tone down quality, its going to take forever to actually move forward and i don't think that's fair to anyone. I guess there's also always the option that i can go back and shade pages later when i feel like it as like, bonus work, just not make that the priority rn?

I always agree w/ Quality over quantity however since you feel frustrated over the slow progress I voted "tone down shading a lot and post more often" so that the comic's story can progress and once enough progress has been made you can go back to fully shading.
