005- Owen Morgan - Live on the Line

Hey everyone, it's Jimmy Snow here, I had the pleasure of welcoming my good friend Owen Morgan, known for his fantastic YouTube channel Telltale.

Owen and I had an absolute blast during our conversation, diving into our shared experiences growing up in high-control religious groups and the challenges that come with maintaining a large online presence. We also geeked out a bit about the future of virtual and augmented reality technology, which I'm sure many of you will find fascinating.

As always, the episode features our signature quiz segment, where Owen competed to win a prize for one lucky patron. I won't spoil the outcome, but let's just say it was a nail-biter!

Throughout the show, Owen and I couldn't help but crack each other up, and I think our natural chemistry really shines through. It's always a joy to connect with someone who shares my passion for promoting critical thinking and skepticism.

I genuinely believe this episode has something for everyone – whether you're a fan of Owen's work, interested in the behind-the-scenes of content creation, or just looking for a good laugh. So, don't miss out on this entertaining and thought-provoking installment of Live on the Line!

As always, I want to thank our incredible patrons for making this show possible. Your support means the world to me and allows me to continue having these amazing conversations with some of the most brilliant minds out there.

So, sit back, relax, and enjoy this fantastic episode with the one and only Owen Morgan!

Jimmy very off topic but Are you aware of carlo acutis the first millennial to be made a saint? I had no idea the Catholic Church was still canonizing people into sainthood. How are these healings miracles when they are being treated by medicine? And they still exhume bodies of newly minted saints to look for decay?!? How is this still a thing? Wtf

I often find myself saying “what the fuck is wrong with these idiots”, but as a determinist I try to remind myself that they are doing or thinking the only thing they could. Not that awful things should be excused by any means, but that people are exactly the results of the physics and chemistry that led up to them. It helps me stay a bit more calm and extend a bit more grace when attempting to help people grow their beliefs/actions into things that are more healthy. Keep this up Jimmy! The podcast has been something I’ve looked forward to every week since you started it. Glad you’re enjoying it so much too, man.

Jimmy thank you for introducing me to Owen. I’ll be heading over to YouTube now to find him.

I always had a big fascination with Mormonism and Jehovah's Witnesses because my mom talked shit about them all the time. It was funny how she'd use her skepticism about the Mormon submarine but Noah's flood was perfectly reasonable.
