MYSTERY EPISODE? WHAT WILL IT BE?!

Comments

Fallout 4 was the first fallout game I played, I thought it was amazing at the time. New Vegas was also cool but felt very dated

The Dude

I actually like the power armor system in fallout 4, making it either you sparingly or something you have to specialize in. Sure you can be a walking tank but you'll have to deal with the extra up keep.

Raeinok

Redoing the comment- The episode is great yall did miss information between fallout 2-3, a whole game an movie script thats been running around for years. Dont blame yall for not liking fallout 4 but the fusion cores arent that hard to find, everything else? Spot on. Yall also failed to mention fallout mods like thw elder scrolls episode. That whole game i mentioned? Its actually most likely the worst fallout counting 4 and 76.

Danzo Shimura

So the episodes bad because they dont like the NCR? I happen to Have the same opinion and own 2 copies of every fallout game even 76. Just because he didnt point out that he made jet? An inhaler with brahmen shit on it and you think the boy deserves more credit as a genius? So if you pick legion or Yes man you automatically havent played fallout? Scotty said he liked the legion TJ said he choosed yes man and Paul clearly stated he doesnt like how the NCR is ran. (they did mention he was a chemist btw)

Danzo Shimura

1:04:30-1:04:40 ¿IS THAT LITERALLY SEÑOR TOMAT?

Nicholas Berthod

Take it from a guy who has over 1000 hours logged onto 3, NV and 4 as well. Fallout 4 was a good game, but not a good FALLOUT game. The crafting was forced on you to an extent, the dialogue was absolutely horrid in terms of options (you can't even explore all the dialogue options like the previous titles), you can't play for more than 1 or 2 hours without getting misc quests asking you to repeat the same shit over and over, and the story line? The main fucking selling point of the franchise IMO was insulting. I mean really, "tHiS tImE tHe fAtHeR sEaRchEs fOr tHe sOn". It's literally a role reversal of 3 in every aspect of it. The way you speak you sound like a fucking stan, devoid of any objectivity. "Recognize superiority" LMAO

Jesse Silver

This had to be the most annoying episode of DFF I've ever listened to. You're so incredibly wrong about Fallout 4, I don't even know where to begin. Half the shit you said wasn't even true, and the other half was complaints over things that were clear improvements to the game. Usually when I disagree with you guys I can sort of understand where you're coming from, but in this case everything you said was just so painfully dumb and unfounded. Fallout 4 had everything the previous two games had and more. The freedom was still there, the dialogue options and skills were still there, and the spirit is most definitely still there. The settlement design and other crafting options brought the game to a whole new level. All the changes they made were completely justified and either simplified things where it needed it, or enhanced things that needed it. All in all it was a huge improvement from the previous games in every conceivable way. So just stop with the totally shit opinions. Recognize superiority when you see it.

Gage Gotts

"Myron is just a creepy kid who trained himself to work with computers...". Paul, be honest here, you only said that because you were looking at that photo. Myron was a kid who invented a drug (Jet) that enabled a New Reno crime family to have power. You never really played the classic Fallout games, have you Paul? What's this shit about NCR being as "the most evil government on the face of the planet" while it wasn't portrayed as utopia in fallout 2 or Vegas, it wasn't anywhere near what you described it to be.

Satanic Cabal

I love the technical difficulties section! Great job retard!

Subtractive Email

Nice job annoyingly talking over all the videos, you autistic retards.

Subtractive Email

Fallout 4 is shit compared to the other fallout games, however it’s a good post apocalyptic sandbox game.

Clayton Dunlop

Holy shit this wus ard da fiynn yall shu jus pu ly a bigg ol link in the YouTube preview

Lance

I think they should follow this one up with the car crash that is 76.

DB

Paul don't know how to play Fallout 1 and 2. You dont have to fight all the monsters. You can run and hide.

Kasper Bak Kirkegaard

Fallout in the hood would be "Straight Outta Fallout"

Notjustklownin

I'm not going to lie I'm pretty racist towards super mutants.

The Best Fucking Memes In The Game

You guys need to shut the fuck up while there's videos rolling. This is unwatchable.

Henrik

I actually like F04 power armor system and I may be wrong but I don't think you have to do base building.

Raeinok

Wish I caught this live, I'm basically a Fallout Historian (sooo much fallout lore, such a waste of space in my brain)

Skeptical Jesus

That wasn't my biggest gripe. My biggest gripe was the fact that the RPG elements were stripped, and the quests were generally dogshit fetch quests. What else is left other than the grindy settlement system?

Zakkuri

Fuck ya, do Skyrim!

Alexander Kyumurkov

Do Paul and TJ's space station.

Benjamin Martin

You are wrong. #bleepdon'tstink

Benjamin Martin

Do The Elder Scrolls!!!!!!!!

Johnny Jungar

I don’t think Fallout 4 was as bad as you guys make it out to be. I mean it wasn’t perfect, I have criticisms for it. The power armor definitely didn’t have the same worth since they gave it to you at the start of the game, I guess they softened that with how you have to power it, repair it, and upgrade it to keep up with the increasingly dangerous places you find which I personally thought was an interesting twist. I also felt that the map was sort of small? I end up in the same places all the time without trying and sometimes I just don’t want to go through a landmark again. The repeated missions of “go here kill this” are either busy work missions for caps/xp or they’re to unlock Minutemen settlements. Entirely optional either way. The settlements building took some getting used to but I really did enjoy it. It allowed you to make non-serious stuff like a fighting ring. Sort of like there was in New Vegas actually there was that one place in a sewer and you could bet on fights or participate in them. Anyway- or you could make the settlement a resource farm or factory. It was flexible. You weren’t stuck with planting tatos and building tin hovels. The functionality of junk items I really liked because in previous games like 90% of it was useless unless you happened upon a blueprint. The weapon customization was cool but I wish there were more types. Armor felt limited. Mainly just raider, leather, metal, and combat. Dialogue is definitely standardized in that you have a ‘good’ comment, ‘bad’ comment, ‘sarcastic’ comment, and then a questioning comment. I don’t know if this limited you though. I don’t think there’s anything stopping you from just exiting the conversation and/or killing them. I think you can just kill the faction leaders too and be factionless. I’m not certain if they have more unkillable npcs though cause I play more peacefully. There wasn’t much option to avoid violence on quests though. It was just the way they designed the story which kinda sucked. Like if the New Vegas senario of Nipton or Nelson or whatever were in Fallout 4 you wouldn’t be able to play along with the ceasars legion guy probably. You’d probablyhave to seek them out and kill them to redeem the town in the name of the minutemen or something lol or else just have to avoid that town alltogether if you don’t want to do that. Idk there’s a lot of things I could say and this is already long enough so I’m done.

Breonna Rice

you keep talking with the fucking video playing, then i cant hear shit

sean dunphy

This inspired me to go back, and play the original Fallout games as I never took the time. Awesome video! Couldn’t get much better than Fallout and the DFF cast.

Pleb22

You guys should do a DFF on Vatican City and the Papacy,

StaticScum

There was already a China town in Fallout 2 and it was magically chinese, including kung fu and racist jokes

Alice Ekerson

Played New Vegas while listening to this episode. Really great analysis. Fun show. Thank you.

Ghosts-onthe-wire

But regardless, I won't say your criticisms aren't completely without merit. But a lot of it comes down to a matter of opinion, I'd say. One of your big points of contention is the new crafting and settlement building shit being grindy and boring. Me personally, I love having such a large amount of customization, and don't find it boring at all. But I can understand that not everyone feels that way. However, I must say that I never felt like the crafting and especially the settlement building was ever really forced on you. So, that's another place where I think you guys were being unfair.

Christopher Soto

Some of your criticisms of Fallout 4 are a bit unfair, I think. Like bitching about having to find power for your power armor, yet also bitching that said power is pretty plentiful and not hard to find anyway. Also, if you are attacked during a dialogue scene, you can very easily get out of it. You aren't stuck in it.

Christopher Soto

Fun fact, the Old Corner Book Store that you see in the game is a Chipotle now.

kiefsaurus

I wanted the main storyline of Fallout 4 to be so much more immersive. It was predictable and pretty lackluster. The environment is the part I enjoyed the most, especially since it was so accurate in its detail at times. I live in Maine and visit Massachusetts often. I think that the combination of post-apocalypse wasteland survival and the locations/monuments hailed in the game, I felt like I was looking into the future, be it distant or not. Some places made me feel some pretty intense nostalgia, like the Bunker Hill monument and the Boston Public Library, as I spent a fair amount of time in these places as a child.

kiefsaurus

This episode made me a patron 👍

Jacob Shermetaro

I actually enjoyed fallout 4 (and played the others upon release). Customization is huge for me. Agreed with all the criticism in this episode, but it definitely wasn't a deal breaker for me. I like all the details and exploring and customization this version of the game has. Fair trade off as far as I'm concerned.

Irving Zisman

I'm the biggest fallout fan and I think it's awesome that my favourite YouTuber who's never even touched on games before is talking about my fav game franchise awesome but fallout 4 was shit I tried to get into it and like it simply because it was a fallout game and because there hadn't been on in so long, Bethesda betrayed there fan base by appealing to the modern 1st person shooter crowed which I myself am apart of but for fallout I'm for fallout which is far from a first person shooter as it's an RPG and action adventure and should have been made as such however fallout 3 and NV where my favourite games of all time and NV was the best game ever created in my opinion from the history to the factions and characters just such a perfect game however today all people see are good graphics which developers assume make a great game which they don't graphics alone make a game beautiful but that's it not good.

Josh Dixon

This is the best patreon episodes ive seen. Please consider doing the elder scrolls series.

Ginger Avenger

i was extremely bitter with fallout 4 for the first 2 years of its release i recently replayed it and honestly it can be alot of fun if you play it with mods and play it taking it as its own game rather than comparing it to the past games

Daniel Sandoval

Fallout 5: katrina

S Chattey

AWESOME EPISODE! watched this while playing fallout lol. Fallout 4 is pretty bad without mods but must admit, with mods installed i think ive had the most fun out of any fallout game. but the base game is garbage.

Galwaa

Supposedly Fallout 5 is going to be in New Orleans last I heard.

Sean Armstrong

Long live Senior Tomate!

Sev Obzen

This might be just what I need to push me to give this series a shot.

Sev Obzen

Good shit. Would definitely welcome more vidya game based content

Eric Weston

I got bias towards New Vegas, because I first played Fallout with that game. I got FO:3 after that and my PC is too inferior to play FO:4. Considering what I know now of FO:1 and 2, I might just snag them for the hell of it. More than likely I'll get 2 due to the better story, quality, etc. I like the idea of being a wastelander first. Like in New Vegas, you are already apart of that world and hardened by the wasteland. I agree with FO:4 though, I feel they added too much on things that should be optional, and simplified what should've been more customizable. And Powerarmor is overrated. I've been able to totally fine without even owning one. Not that I don't snag them, but I've even done completed NV hardcore with only one rifle in the end and ran out of ammo mid-final battle and my whole body was literally broke with 2hp of health in the very end. Had some wasteland armor or something. It was my most memorable playthrough. Once I died OD'ing on Sarsaparilla lol

Ignar Husky

Fallout 4 wasn't that bad bad dude

Samuel Hammond

Never was a huge fan of fallout. The color pallete is drab, but fitting for the theme at least. I just was never really impressed with them, simply from the theme. Everything is ugly and dead, broken down and everything fucking sucks, from your rusted-ass weapon to the decrepit zombies you interact with. But that's just my preference on games... which is why I'm more partial to Elder Scrolls.

defialpro

no fallout tactics

I was talking to a friend who knew very little about Fallout, and he told me the FEV sounded like a rip off of the T virus from resident evil

Deathclaws aren't from radiation

TensionSlap

I think TJ smokes meth

Keggerous

Talked forever about Fallout 4 being soulless and bad, yet completely ignored Fallout: Tactics which was less soulless and bad than 4. Had the best combat, if not anything else.

Jonas Gericke

Would love to see more of these on games. You guys ever played half life or mass effect?

H3Vtux

New Vegas is the best Fallout

TensionSlap

Radiant quests are lazy

TensionSlap

The speech took away from the RPG elements
