Revisiting: The Hunger Games (2012)

We are PUMPED to be revisiting The Hunger Games in preparation for the newest movie coming out this month. It's been awhile since we've watched the movies, but we did a deep dive not only into the movie, but why this movie was such a phenomenon. Some things we discussed:
- Why was The Hunger Games more successful when compared to all of its peers? (Divergent, Mazerunner, Fifth Wave etc)
- Would we survive the hunger games if we had to fight only kindergartners?
- who ALMOST played Katniss, Peeta, Haymitch etc and would any of them have worked out?
- Battle Royale vs The Hunger Games
- Some major book differences
And obviously a lot more, including us whistling the mockingjay song.

I’m assuming Joe ended up reading all the books since he read SOTR. Wondering if his feelings on Gamemakers being a danger in the games has changed now having more context on the rebellion and Snow snuffing it throughout the years?
