THE GREASE TRAP: 06 Apr 2020

Comments

I lost faith in America more than all of humanity. Other countries have already recovered, but we are still in the thick of it. The rest of the world needs to quarantine us and Brazil or we will cause the world another outbreak

The True Nihilist

3 months later you do a commentary of the lighthouse

The True Nihilist

Hybrid theory was 2000 I swear

The True Nihilist

That joke in the description is a dope ass play on words forreal.

Thomas H.

Yeah, I mean if there is something substantive to attack her on it's shit like that. But of course these pig fuck-wits don't want to do that as they don't want oligarchical cock-sucking to be perceived as a bad thing.

Dr. Funkentesla

I’ll end the mystery, it’s me. -Taylor

PESSIMIST PRODUCTIONS

Dude fuck AOC. She voted for the relief bill that’s literally a gift horse to corporations

Buddy Bradley

I can't tell if Taylor or TJ keeps writing these puns in the descriptions, either way I love and appreciate them.

Dr. Funkentesla

These are tough times. I just console myself with the knowledge that after this is all over, we will have learned absolutely nothing and we will go right back to punching ourselves in our big, fat, stupid fucking faces like the dumb apes we are.

Teddy Spaghetti

You guys have funny and varied but still positive interesting perspectives. We all together in contrast to the complete craziness of modern American ignorant discourse. I appreciate the funny and also the serious. I know if there was a political movement-you guys would support. the freedom loving ideals as your audience. Watching modern media and even talking to people nowadays and you see like a darkness about it. Like we all fighting to even be alive. Paul gives some of those precraziness insites which you won’t find anywhere else.

Hey I wanted to write here on the question raised by Paul in the Bantersode surrounding what needs to be done. Again, this is my opinion, and it’s clear as day that I don’t resonate with the majority of this fan base. So take it with a grain of salt. I do recognize that these are tough times, and that a lot of people use DFF as a route of escapism. But I would argue that the vast majority of people who watch DFF because they have a relationship with the Pessimists. With that said, I would treat this situation the same way one would handle it if they were talking with a Friend or maybe a distant sibling. Talk about it here & there, don’t pretend that it doesn’t exist. But also make it so that you are here to be Friends, not just proponents of harsh truth. You are here to help, not hinder. And unfortunately I do agree with Paul that this kind of responsibility is weight inducing, but necessary. And this Fan Base (or a large percentage Anyways) does look at you guys like Lost Father Figures. If it helps Paul out, I’ll talk about some of the changes I had to do. I was working on a Film Project right before the Covid-Crisis that was a critical examination of Social Currency & the Hierarchal Nature of Humanity. It was supposed to be my Magnum Opus and I sacrificed everything for it. But once the crisis became real in my life (March 7th was my date), it became clear that nobody was going to want to watch this after going through Months of Social Distancing. It was hard, but it needed to be placed for a later date (maybe it might never happen because who knows when people will want to watch a piece of Self-Examination). I started something else, a project I’m proud of, but not as much as My Magnum Opus. And it will always be a what if the virus never happened moment in my mind. I say this not to gloat, but because you do need to make changes during different times. And has it hindered Paul’s Performance, I guess so (but I blame the Distant Format more than anything, and only TJ has been similar to what he was before the crisis). But I will also add that people are far more accepting of things that are out of their control as well. I DoorDash as a way to make money, and it’s amazing to think that one month ago I was getting cursed out for not getting the correct Dressing for their Salad, and now people are super gracious & thankful for orders, even if the restaurant ran out of the ingredients. What I’m saying is that you are seen as authority figures, but this fan base (for better or worse) is also really gracious that you are still doing this. It doesn’t matter if all of your performances were half as good as they were a month ago (which isn’t true, I’d say that Scotty is 90% as good and Paul is 75%, TJ is actually 25% better) people are still really happy that these shows are coming out. There is a strong possibility that some of the Youtubers we all loved to watch throughout the Late 2000s & 2010s May not survive this pandemic, or just quit because real world problems puts this dream job on hold. The fact that (as long as you stay healthy) you three will still probably have this show afterwards is just remarkable for a lot of viewers. So the advice I would give is treat your audience like you would a close friend. Treat Every Person who watches this show like you’d treat Koolmin or Jae Darke in your chat. Would they want you to ignore the problems? No, probably not. But they come to you to help them figure themselves out. And that, above all else, will make the fan community continue to support ya well after the economy collapses & the Pre-Covid World becomes a long distant memory.

Hypnotic Visionaire

I read this in the voice of a Psycho from Borderlands
