One of the biggest problems they have is their ideas of what they wanted a show to be. I think the idea of short form content can work really well, and be a great counter for current content. But you have to do “Lateral Thinking” and redefine what a short film is supposed to be. The show I was trying to pitch early on (which wasn’t great in hindsight but better than anything else on Quibi) was a revival of Liquid Television (something that I actually got an idea after messaging Paul on Highdeology in late 2017) with each episode being 30 second shorts that all have a theme that add up to a whole. Everything Visually heavy, everything diverse in regards of the Cinematic/Video Format. Quibi (for better or worse) needed content like the one I was pitching. It’s biggest flaw as a platform was that they were trying to pitch shorter versions of Netflix/Hulu Shows, which was a terrible solution in hindsight.
